Fried breakfast for Tesni and Guto
Jaclyn has prepared breakfast for her children, but Guto appears to be off his food;
Tesni snaffles Guto's sausage
Tesni takes the opportunity to purloin his sausage, and when her mother objects, says, “Don’t be nasty to me on your birthday – we’ve got you a present!”
Dylan arrives with a box
Dylan comes in with a box for her, insisting that this is a day to remember.
"Come on, eat up, kids!"
 Jaclyn tells them to eat up their breakfast, so they can go and find out their exam results;  “I want to celebrate my clever kids.”
Guto is in a great hurry to get somewhere
Guto , obviously unwell, rushes upstairs in some discomfort,
"And black pudding!"
and when Dylan sees that he has left his breakfast, including black pudding, decides to finish it off.
"Ready for Judgment Day?"
Tyler is also preparing for the results, and Iolo refers to it as, “Judgment Day!   It will be worse next week, when you get your maths results!
"Greta and I will love you, no matter what!"
“Don’t worry, Greta and I will love you, no matter what!”
Then he adds, “Will he be there –
"The boy who's head over heels in love with you?"
“Aled, the boy who’s head over heels in love with you?”
"A lot of them check online"
Tyler replies that a lot of the children check online these days.
"Perhaps you should have a word with Gaynor"
“Perhaps you should have a word with Gaynor – just to cover yourself,” Iolo advises.   Tyler leaves for school, but Iolo still fels uneasy about it.
Ffion is doing the washing-up when Rhys returns to Cysgod y Glyn;
"I took the long loop past the school"
he apologises that his run has taken longer than expected, as he took the long loop past the school, and saw Gaynor outside, “Looking mega stressed!”
Then he groans, “Don’t say Arwen is still in bed,”
"She's going to Elinor for the day"
but Ffion has arranged for her to go to Elinor for the day.
"I promised to take her on the bike"
“I promised to take her on the bike – and she was looking forward to it,” he complains, but Ffion tells him that he can do what he likes today, as it is not fair to expect him to babysit.
“I enjoy her company – I don’t mind at all,” he assures her;
"There must be thousands of things you'd rather do"
she is certain that there are thousands of things he would rather do, but he makes it clear that he is always happy to babysit, at any time.   He detects that there is some sort of problem, wondering if he has done something to upset Ffion.
"I thought you would like some time to yourself"
She explains that she thought he would like some time to himself, and must now go to school;  she will see him later.
Rhys looks concerned
Now he is wearing a look of concern, rather than the usual inane grin.
Sara is at the kitchen sink
Sara is at the kitchen sink in Bryntirion when Dylan arrives, wanting to ask her a favour;
Dylan wants her to talk to a new supplier
“I want to discuss a deal with a new supplier – can you do it for me?   It’s on the outskirts of Llanelli, this morning.”
"Negotiation was my strong point"
She points out that negotiation was her strong point.
"I've e-mailed you some details"
“I’ve e-mailed you some details to give some indication of what would be ideal for us.”
Sara assures him that she will not let him down,
"Yes, I handled that well!"
and looks very pleased at being given the responsibility.
"A lamb going to the slaughter"
At school, the exam results envelopes are being handed to the pupils, and when Guto comes in, Tyler remarks, “You look like a lamb going to the slaughter.”
Guto feels much better when he sees his results
He replies that he feels sick, but is pleasantly surprised when he sees that he has gained 2 Bs and a C.
Tesni's results are outstanding
Then Tesni is handed her envelope, which reveals she has 3 A✵s.
"Mam's having a birthday party"
She invites Tyler to her mother’s birthday party, but he declines the invitation.
Aled can be seen entering the room,
"Mr Davies-White left the party with Aled"
and Tesni whispers to Guto, “Twm says that he saw Mr Davies-White leaving the party last week with Aled.   I reckon there’s something going on between them.”
Guto wonders if there is any truth in that
Guto thought she knew better than to start rumours, but does wonder if there is any truth in what she said.
Dylan has brought some glasses
Dylan has brought some glasses for the party, and Jaclyn is becoming anxious;
"If they don't phone in ten minutes . . ."
“If they don’t phone in ten minutes, I’m going down there.”
Sara is ready for her meeting
There is a knock at the door, and Sara appears, very smartly dressed.
“You know how to make an impression,” remarks Dylan, and she explains to Jaclyn that she is on the way to see the food suppliers, but could find no record of the current deal.
"It was just a 'gentleman's agreement'"
Dylan explains, in a rather unbusinesslike fashion, that it was a ‘gentleman’s agreement’, and there is nothing on paper.   Sara leaves, not wanting to be late for her meeting,
"You have given her all the information, haven't you?"
and Jaclyn is suspicious that he has not given Sara all the information.
Jaclyn is excited by Guto's results
Then she receives the long-awaited phone call, and is excited to hear Guto’s results, which she describes as, “Amazing!”
"Luned is stuck at Amsterdam Airport"
At the school, Ffion asks Tesni where Luned is, and is told that she is stuck at the airport in Amsterdam;
Tesni prepares to speak to her mother
Guto brings across his phone, so Tesni can talk to her mother.
Aled is far from optimistic . . .
Aled approaches Tyler, convinced that he has failed the exam;  Tyler comments, “It doesn’t quite reflect your ability,”
. . . and this is borne out by his results
and Aled discovers 2 Cs and a D.   Guto is keeping a watchful eye on them, as Tyler assures him that he can resit the exams, and he is within two marks of a B in IT,
Guto is taking careful note
pointing out, “It bodes well for next year.”   Aled walks out, ignoring Guto on the way.
"I want to show I'm pulling my weight"
Rhys is doing some housework when Ffion returns to the flat, and asks how it went;  “I don’t want you to think I’m not pulling my weight,” he tells her,
"Just do what young guys like to do"
but she says that she just wants him to do what young guys like to do.
He wonders exactly what that is, and can see that something is wrong;
"We've been bickering a lot lately"
“We’ve just been bickering a lot recently, haven’t we?” she says, and he recalls that they have not been out for a while.
"Why don't we meet at the Deri around six?"
He has a couple of sessions this afternoon, so suggests that they meet in the Deri around six.
"I'm looking forward to it"
He is looking forward to it, but by the look of Ffion,
Ffion, however, is less enthusiastic
she is less enthusiastic.
A party popper has misfired
At number 10, Jaclyn is tinkering with a party popper when Sara returns from her meeting;  “We have no reason to celebrate,” Sara reports,
"Zöe, who dumped you last week . . ."
“In fact, we’re in a bit of a hole!   Zöe, the accounts manager – who dumped you last week, remember – increased the prices by 10%!
"Because he can't keep his pants on!"
“Because he can’t keep his pants on!”
"I hoped someone independent would make her see sense"
Jaclyn threatens that she will castrate him one day, but Dylan had hoped that someone independent would make her see sense.   Sara emphasises, “Well, instead of paying 10% more, we’ve lost the supply completely!
"I hope that Sioned  Rees was worth it!"
“I hope that Sioned Rees was worth it!”
Sara marches out of the house
Jaclyn is absolutely outraged that it was Sioned, and tells him that his brains need boiling.   “My brains need boiling for agreeing to work with him!” snaps Sara, “Thanks for setting me up like that!” and she marches out of the house.
Ffion tries out a new look
Ffion has put on what appears to be totally unsuitable, very short, low-cut, off the shoulder dress, but appears to be having doubts about its advisability, when the buzzer sounds;
"It's not convenient at the moment, Anita"
it is Anita, who wants a recording about the exam results for CwmFM, but is told that it is not convenient.
“I’ll only be two minutes, I promise – Gaynor is busy, and Hywel will be after my blood if I go back empty-handed,” Anita pleads, so is let in,
Ffion tries to cover up
and Ffion hastily dons a cardigan.   “You’re not on your way out, are you?” says Anita, noticing her attire,
Anita looks rather surprised
and Ffion removes the cardigan.
"What do you think – be honest"
“What do you think?” asks Ffion, “Be honest, or you’re not getting an interview.”   Anita, rather unconvincingly, answers that she looks lovely, but Ffion points out that it is not her usual style.   Anita maintains that the important thing is how she feels.
"We might go out clubbing!"
“We’re going out for a meal, and then we might go clubbing!” Ffion says , and Anita hopes he realises how lucky he is.   “I don’t want to drag him into middle age, do I?” Ffion adds.
"He's more than happy just to be in your company"
Anita stresses that she is what Rhys wants;  “I’m sure he is more than happy just to be in your company.
"I've been worried about you all morning"
Iolo has just got back to the door of number 7 when he sees Tyler;  “I’ve been worried about you all morning,” he says, and they are about to go in for a bottle of wine, when Tyler notices Aled, who seems to be in a bad mood.
Tyler checks that no-one is looking
He gives the excuse that he feels like some chocolate, but crosses the road.
Guto is still watching what happens
Guto is watching from outside number 9 – until his mother drags him inside.
Aled takes out his rage on the defenceless bin
Tyler walks into the alley, and finds Aled, furiously kicking a wheelie bin.
"Drinking is not the answer, Aled"
He wants Tyler to get him a bottle of cider, but is told that drinking is not the answer.
Now Guto looks from the back gate
Further along the back street, Guto is watching their conversation from the gate of number nine;
"My mind wasn't on the work!"
“There’s no point – I failed because my mind wasn’t on the work!” Aled is saying, “How is that going to change?”
Tyler is willing to help him, and wants to see him succeed;
Guto captures all this on video
meanwhile, Guto records this on his phone.   Aled moves forward to kiss Tyler, but is repulsed;
"What happened last week was a mistake"
“We can’t – what happened last week was a mistake – we’ve discussed it.”
"I want you and you want me"
“But I want you and you want me – I know that!” insists Aled;  Tyler replies that they cannot, and all this is recorded on Guto’s phone, then he is called into the house.
Tyler hopes that Aled enjoys the rest of the holiday, and will see him back at school.
"What are you doing here, Aled?"
As Aled walks away, past number 9’s back gate, Guto comes out again and asks what he is doing there, inviting him to the party.
Aled cannot wait to get hold of some alcohol
On hearing that there will be booze at the party, he agrees to join them.
Sara relaxes with a cup of tea
As she relaxes with a cup of tea at Bryntirion, Dylan visits Sara;
Dylan is very apologetic
he is  in a placatory frame of mind, and is equipped with a bunch of flowers.   “I was out of order,” he admits,
"I should not have put you in that position"
“Sorry!   I honestly thought you could charm her – but I should not have put you in that position.”
"Now we don't have a supplier, or any stock!"
Sara points out that the problem is they do not have any suppliers or enough stock for the weekend, but he insists that he will sort it out.
He is scared she will walk out
“Just please tell me you don’t intend to walk out on me,” he begs.
She makes it quite clear that is exactly what he deserves;  “You’ve lost a supplier, lost a manageress –
"You're too weak to say no to a pretty woman!"
“just because you’re too weak to say no to a pretty woman!”
He says he has learned his lesson
He alleges that he has learned his lesson, but pleads with her to say that she is going to stay.
Then she reveals she has sorted the matter out
It is a relief when she informs him that she does not intend to go anywhere, and reveals, “I’ve sorted the problem – I’ve found us a new supplier.”
"How much is that going to cost?"
He wonders how much that is going to cost, but she advises, “Less, as it happens!   It looks as though Zöe has been taking advantage of the fact that you have not been concentrating on your work.
"You'll have to give me a bonus!"
“But you’ll have to give me a bonus for getting you out of this pickle!”
Iolo is ready with the bottle . . .
Iolo is waiting, with the bottle, but when Tyler comes into the house,
. . . but Tyler want to go for a picnic
he suggests they pick up Greta early and go for a picnic.   “I wanted to relax in the garden for an hour,” protests Iolo, but Tyler wants to make the most of the time they have,
"I shall soon be back at school"
as he will soon be back at school.   Iolo will have to put the wine back in the fridge.
He is really worried about a particular one
Tyler frets, “I’m just worried about the ones who are disappointed with their results – I can’t help but feel I’ve let them down.”
"That's what makes you such a good teacher, Ty!"
Iolo replies that is what makes him such a good teacher, and hugs him.
"I'm going to be in charge of the music, Mam"
At the party in number 10, Tesni says she will be in charge of the music, while Guto is chatting with Aled;
"You and Mr Davies-White seem to be getting on well"
“You and Mr Davies-White seem to be getting on well,” Guto suggests.
The reply is that he has been helping Aled to see things clearer, that is all;
"But you fancy him, though?"
“But you fancy him though?” Guto goes on, “Come on – I’m straight and I can see he’s quite hot.”
"I've never failed so far"
“Put it like this – I’m working on it,” Aled informs him, “And I’ve never failed so far,”
That is a bit of a revelation
which Guto finds surprising.
Ffion adjusts the dress
Ffion, showing a copious amount of flesh, is at the bar of Deri,
"You look amazing!"
and when Rhys comes in, he says that she looks amazing;  he is not sure if he has made enough of an effort.
Ffion receives a disapproving look . . .
One of the female customers eyes Ffion up and down as she passes,
. . . and they appear to be talking about her
and appears to be making derogatory comments to a man at the bar;  Ffion feels rather self-conscious,
"Two Strawberry Mocktails, please"
and after Rhys has ordered two Strawberry Mocktails from Geraint, who appears to be working as a barman,
Yes, it is rather short
they go to a table
"You don't seem very comfortable"
Rhys comments that Ffion does not seem very comfortable, but she tells him not to be silly,
"We could go to Vagabonds later"
then suggests, “We could go to Vagabonds later – I remember that you and Mathew have had a few good nights there.”
"It will be full of school pupils"
He thinks that the place will be full of school pupils celebrating tonight;  he imagines that she would rather not see her pupils.   He remarks that she is acting oddly;
"You wouldn't let me look after Arwen"
“You wouldn’t let me look after Arwen – now you want to go to a nightclub.”
"Are you sure you want to be with me?"
She demands if he wants to be with her, and he replies that of course he does;  “Are you sure about that?” she goes on, and he wonders why she is asking this.
"You haven't been with someone else – like Sioned?"
“You haven’t been with anyone else, then – someone like Sioned?”
"It's true!"
His face falls, and she can deduce the answer from his expression;  she gasps, “It’s true!”
Again Rhys is 'so sorry'
He assures her that he is, “So sorry!” and she sighs deeply.
