Rhys is taking photos . . .
Rhys is holding up his phone in the High Street,
. . . of the premises to become his gym
trying to get a photo of the premises where his new gym is going to be;  he almost backs into Dylan,
Dylan wants to impress someone
who is carrying a large floral display.
"I'm marketing my new gym . . ."
“I’m marketing – I need photos of my new gym, Chwys Rhys,” he says, “I’m giving these to people to publicise the business,”
". . . and giving out these publicity items"
and hands Dylan one of the wristbands.
“Oh, retro – like Bjorn Borg and McEnroe in the 80s,” Dylan comments, and again Rhys boasts that he does not remember them, but it was Ffion’s idea.   He invites Dylan to one of his morning boot camp sessions,
Dylan finds it hard to get up early
but is told that it is hard to get up when you work late.
“I’ll wear it when I go for a run,” Dylan tells him,
"Here's someone who will wear one"
then when Hywel comes round the corner, he adds, “Here’s someone who will wear one – and remember the look first time round!”
Hywel's look of sneering distaste
Of course, the antisocial Hywel is very unimpressed, and walks away.
"Good luck, mate – especially with him!"
“Good luck, mate – especially with him!” remarks Dylan, and then Rhys dons one of his sweatbands, and is warned to watch out in case he gets tennis elbow.
Sara makes disparaging remarks about Sioned
In the café, Sara is moaning, “She was like some high-flier, pretending she knew what she was talking about!   But she won’t get an icecream order from us!
"Flirting with Dylan right in front of me"
“She was flirting with Dylan right in front of me.”
"And why should that bother you, Sara?"
Kelly is surprised that she is bothered, and wonders if there is something Sara is not telling her.   Sara insists that she meant that it was unprofessional.
"Is anyone serving in here today?"
Hywel has come in, and grumpily demands if anyone is serving there today.   Sara receives her fifth text from Jason this morning,
"Why don't you come over tonight?"
and Kelly invites her over tonight;  “You can have a glass of wine and chill out.”   Sara replies that it would be nice to have a break from everyone.
"Black coffee and scrambled egg on toast"
Hywel orders, “A black coffee, please, and scrambled egg on toast – but no butter on the toast.   Can I open a tab, as I have a lot of work to do?”   Kelly jokingly asks if he wants his shoes polished as well, then notices the wristband,
"Some stupid gimmick to attract attention!"
which he dismisses as, “Some stupid gimmick to attract attention!   You can have it!”  Kelly is in favour of the new gym, as it will mean people passing the café all the time,
Kelly is unimpressed by his demeanour
but Hywel snarls, “It will last six months at the most!”
"These are for you, Sioned"
In the shop flat, Eileen, brings in the flowers, which she says are for Sioned;  she reassures Sioned, “It’s not the end of the world – it was only one meeting.”
"But everything went wrong, Mam"
“But everything went wrong,” whines Sioned, “I didn’t give enough of a discount, I didn’t consider how much room they had to keep the stock, and I didn’t know what biodegradable was.   Sara was loving it – but I did my best, Mam, I promise.”
"I shouldn't have let you go on your own"
Eileen blames herself;  she should not have let Sioned go on her own, and she points out that it was only a small order.
"I failed, just like I do all the time"
“It doesn’t matter,” Sioned insists, “I failed, just like I do all the time.”   Her mother advises she needs to look forward now, to target restaurants and hotels, and points out that the produce is good.   Sioned needs to prepare thoroughly.
"You keep the flowers, Mam"
She tells her mother to keep the flowers, but is informed that someone left them in the shop for her;
"Look, they came with a card"
they find an envelope accompanying them.   As Eileen gets up from the chair, she suddenly notices that painting;
Eileen has a shock
“Good grief!” she exclaims,
"Mam, meet Auntie Nel"
and Sioned introduces her to Auntie Nel.
"She can't have liked Mathew much!"
“She can’t have liked Mathew much!” Eileen laughs,
Sioned discover the sender of the flowers
while Sioned looks at the name of the sender of the flowers.
Guto wants to go to the cinema
In the café, Guto and Luned are waiting for Tesni to arrive, and Guto is anxious to get to the cinema, pointing out that they have only a week of the holiday left.
"We have to do this app today!"
“Exactly – that’s why Tesni and I have to do this app today,” she tells him, but he maintains they should be enjoying themselves.
"What are you doing here, Guto?"
Then Tesni comes in and wonders why Guto is there;
If Hywel wanted peace and quiet, he should have stayed at home
“Going to the cinema on your own is not much fun,” he says, and in the background can be seen miserable Hywel Llywelyn, who was hoping for some peace and quiet.   Luned informs Guto that the app they are designing counts towards the Baccalaureate, and that is important.
"If we brainstorm for an hour or two . . ."
“If we brainstorm for an hour or two . . .” she goes on,
"Can you keep your voices down?"
and Hywel irritably complains that they should keep their voices down, as he is trying to work.
They decide they will instead go to number 10 to continue their deliberations,
"Don't take any notice of Mr Grumpy!"
but are told by Kelly, “Don’t take any notice of Mr Grumpy!”   When they have gone, he hopes that now he will get some peace.
The gym equipment has begun arriving
Rhys arrives at Cysgod y Glyn, and Ffion excitedly tells him that some of the stuff has arrived;
"It was worth taking advantage of the sale"
“It was worth taking advantage of the sale – we’ve saved loads!” she says.
"Where are we going to keep all this?"
He wonders where they are going to keep all of this, as the gym will not be ready for ages, but Ffion is sure that he will be able to keep it in Yr Antur for now.
"Come back by six – for our promotional tour!"
She also announces, “I shall want you back here by six – we’re doing a promotional tour with the headbands – I want to see you succeed.”
“Unlike Dad,” he groans, “Mind you, you did take a sweatband.”   Ffion cannot imagine Hywel walking around, wearing one;  she throws the blue exercise ball to him.
"We need something that appeals to us"
Luned is thinking out loud;  “We need something that appeals to us – we all use apps.”   Guto jokes that his father uses the ‘Find my Phone’ app at least once a week.
"Jacs, have you seen my phone?"
“Jacs, have you seen my phone?” Tesni laughs, “I’ve lost my phone, Jacs!”
Luned insists that they should be concentrating, and suggests a community app, that would help everyone, but Tesni wants some biscuits, chocolate ones, arguing that she has to have chocolate when she is brainstorming.
"I want three ideas by the time I come back"
Luned is becoming fed up with this;  she goes to the toilet and tells them she wants three new ideas by the time she gets back.
Guto still hopes to get to the cinema . . .
Guto suggests, “If we come up with an idea, I can still get to the cinema by 3:00pm,”
. . . and Tesni is missing out on a massage
and Tesni might be able to get a quick massage.   “Exactly,” he continues, “So, whatever she says, just agree with her – it doesn’t matter how bad the idea is.
Rhys looks faintly ridiculous with that ball
Rhys is walking down the street, carrying the blue exercise ball, when Kelly, cleaning the café windows, comments that she loves the merchandise, and he hopes that people will want to go to the gym.
"Exercise would stop people being so moody!"
“A bit of exercise would do some people’s mental health good – and stop them being so moody,” she goes on, rather pointedly, just as Hywel comes out of the café.
"Someone's been spending!"
He sneers at Rhys, “Sweatbands and equipment – someone’s been spending!”
"I have to show I'm serious"
Rhys maintains he is eager to show that he is serious;  “What?   By wasting your money?” Hywel goes on, “With the deposit and the setting-up costs, you’ll have quite a bill.”
"I have an investor, who has faith in the business"
Rhys is quick to point out that he has an investor – someone who has shown faith in his business;  “I’m going to succeed, Dad, it doesn’t matter how much you hope I don’t.”
"Out of the way, Grumps!"
Kelly tells Hywel, “Out of the way, Grumps,” as she wants to finish cleaning the window.
Luned has a couple of suggestions . . .
Luned suggests an app to help you remember where you parked your car, but then realises there are not many multi-storeys in Cwmderi.   “Or an app that helps you find local old ruins?”
. . . but the others seem to have lost interest
Guto tries to sound enthusiastic, but Tesni finds the whole thing very boring.
“Oh, forget it then,” Luned exclaims, “You’d rather be in some stupid spa, wasting your money.”
"I'm already wasting money, not being there"
Tesni points out that she is already doing that, missing treatments that she has already paid for – and she will not get the money back.   “£30 down the drain – all to create an app!   They’re some new local company – I won’t get a penny.”
"Well, I'll get your money back!"
Luned is determined that she is going to get Tesni’s money back;  “Anything to stop you sulking all afternoon!”
"You got the flowers, then"
When Sioned walks into the Deri, Dylan is at the bar;  “Oh, you got the flowers, then,” he comments,
"Flowers?   What flowers?"
but she pretends she does not know what he is talking about, maintaining that she has arranged to meet her mother there.
Eileen arrives with Cae Glas vegetables
Right on time, Eileen arrives, with a box of vegetables.
"You may as well have a chat about the icecream"
“As Dylan is here, you may as well have a chat about the icecream,” she tells Sioned, before she leaves again.
As they go to a table, Dylan apologises for what happened yesterday;
"Sara can be rather . . . keen"
“Sara can be – what can I say – keen!”   Sioned understands that is her rôle,
"I hadn't thought things through properly"
and admits that she had not thought things through properly.
“I’m just used to selling consignments to people who run several restaurants with plenty of storage.   Mind you, Mam and I were eager to Tapas to sell the icecream –
"Perhaps we could look at the discount again"
“perhaps we could look at the discount again, and the numbers.”
"Come back to me with an offer"
Dylan invites her to come back to him with an offer, and to leave him to deal with Sara.
"I may be celebrating a new order"
Sioned is surprised to see that champagne is brought to them, and Dylan explains that he may be celebrating a new order;
"It would be rude to let you celebrate alone"
she concedes that she cannot really let him celebrate alone.
Luned's call has borne fruit
At number 10, Luned has been speaking on the phone and informs Tesni that the money will be back in her account by Monday;  “They said they couldn’t afford to advertise online, or let people know about their refund policy.
"An app for local businesses to share information"
We could offer an app to allow local businesses to advertise and share information – perhaps we could get perks as a thank you.”
Both Tesni and Guto think this is a great idea,
Guto is all ready for the cinema . . .
and Guto puts on his jacket, ready to go to the cinema.
. . . but is told there is much more to do yet
However, Luned warns, “There’s loads more to do yet – we still need a name, a logo, we need to phone companies and create software.”
"Guto, go and get us some chocolate biscuits!"
Tesni proposes that, as has he has his jacket on, he can go to fetch some more biscuits – chocolate ones.
Kelly and Sara enjoy a light-hearted meal
Kelly and Sara are laughing over their meal,
"Don't go overboard, cowboy!"
and Sara is told not to go overboard with the drinking, but she insists it is her night off;
"No Dai, no Diane, no text from Jason"
“No Dai, no Diane, no text from Jason,” but then realises that means there is also no Ifan.
"Perhaps you should go and see Ifan, then"
Kelly suggests that she could go home to see him, in that case.
"Thanks for letting me go on and on about everything"
“Thanks for dinner, Kel – and thanks for letting me go on and on about everyone and everything,” says Sara,
"We all need someone to listen sometimes"
and Kelly points out that they all need someone to listen sometimes.   “It’s nice to escape for a while –
"It's so busy – and I still feel lonely!"
“it’s so busy in that house – and I still feel lonely!” Sara adds.
Kelly commiserates that things have not exactly been smooth recently;  “But everything will be all right – things will get back to normal.”
"It will never get back to normal"
Sara doubts if it will ever get back to normal,
"New job, gorgeous baby, and Jason is getting better"
even though Kelly reminds her of her new job, gorgeous baby, and the fact that Jason is getting better.
"He tried to kill himself, Kel!"
“Jason tried to kill himself, Kel!” Sara tells her, “He was going to run away instead of asking me for help – so I don’t know how things can go back to normal.   I’ve tried and I’ve tried!”
Kelly says she can stay in the flat
Kelly looks devastated, and advises that there is a spare bed available if she wants to crash there;
"You need some breathing space"
“It might do you good – a bit of perspective – breathing space from Bryntirion,”
"I must give Ifan a good-night hug"
but Sara would not be able to sleep without giving Ifan a good-night hug.
"I'd be a hypocrite if I ran away as well"
“I’ll get a taxi now – I’d be a hypocrite if I ran away as well,” she says, and Kelly assures her again that everything will be OK.
The publicity tour reaches the Deri
In the Deri there is loud cheering as Rhys and Ffion, dressed in sports gear, come in, handing out the merchandise.
"I didn't know it was the Cwmderi Carnival!"
Hywel is his usual disapproving self, and comments, “I didn’t know the Cwmderi Carnival was today.”
Ffion, sporting a very fetching moustache, announces that they have been around the pubs and to the rugby club to promote the new business.
"Is this your new investor?"
Hywel suddenly realises;  “Is this is your new investor?   “I thought you were taking this business seriously – pathetic!”
"No, Rhys, stop it!"
Rhys is close to losing his temper, and showing signs being on the verge of thumping his father, but is restrained by Ffion;
"That's it – make a fool of yourself!"
“That’s it – make a fool of yourself – that would be great for business!” Hywel taunts him, “Listen to your partner – you do everything else she tells you to!”
Ffion hurries him out of the Deri
Ffion shepherds Rhys out of the Deri.
"Oh – those flowers!"
Dylan has accompanied Sioned back to the café flat, and she pretends she did not know who the flowers were from.
"Meet Auntie Nel!"
She asks if he wants a drink, and as she goes to the fridge he notices that enormous painting;  “Who’s she?” he enquires, and Sioned explains that it is Mathew’s Auntie Nel.
"Urgh – her eyes are following me around the room!"
“Urgh – her eyes are following me around the room,” he says, “A woman like that is well out of my league!”
"Cryptic/demanding messages"
Sioned replies, “I don’t know – I’m sure you can charm anyone with your romantic touches, and your cryptic/demanding messages.”   He does not like being called demanding, insisting rather that he knows what he wants.
They are at it again
They kiss, but he says that he cannot;
"Not with her looking at me!"
“I can’t do it – not with her looking at me!   I don’t want to make her jealous!”
"We'll get more peace in my bedroom"
Sioned is quite sure they would get more peace in her bedroom, and they immediately head in that direction,
"Thank you, Auntie Nel"
with Sioned remarking, “Thank you, Auntie Nel!”
