Mathew id still keeping an eye on Sioned
The loud insistent beat of the party music continues, and Sioned tells Ricky that she wants to dance;
She and Ricky hug each other
“There’s no rush, is there?” he replies, “We’ve got the rest of our lives,” and they hug each other.
Then Aled, a pupil of Tyler's, appears
Mathew asks Tyler if he wants another bottle, and then Aled, one of Tyler’s pupils, appears in the doorway;
"I thought there would be no school pupils here"
Tyler remarks that Sioned assured him that there would not be any school pupils there.
"You're my two best mates!"
Ricky now wants Tyler to dance with him, telling him and Mathew that they are his best mates;  Mathew wonders how much he has had to drink,
"Too much, I think!"
and Tyler thinks that it is too much.
Sioned once again gravitates towards Ricky
Sioned is very eager for Ricky to come back to her, and they dance wildly.
The embryo is smaller than a walnut
In the Deri flat, Garry asks, “What is the size of it now?” and Dani estimates it is smaller than a walnut.
"Are you feeling OK?"
“Are you are feeling OK?” he goes on, and so far she has not suffered any sickness,
"It's not like last time"
in contrast to when she was carrying Seren.
"Things will be different this time"
“Things will be different this time,” Garry promises, and she agrees with this, strictly pointing out that, to start with, he is not to tell anyone.

"Not a word until after the scan, Gar – all right?"
“You told everyone last time – not a word until after the scan!” she orders him, but he groans that will be weeks away;  “I want to make sure that everything is OK – but can we just enjoy a few months of peace first?   It’s all right for you – I’ll be the one having people touching my belly and interfering all the time!”
"I won't say a word – for now"
He gives her his assurance that he will not say a word to anyone – for now.
"It's OK for us to be informal, isn't it?"
Aled says to Tyler, “I wasn’t expecting to see you here – it’s OK for us to be informal, isn’t it?   We’re not in school now.”
"I'm still your teacher"
Tyler makes it clear that he is still Aled’s teacher,
"My favourite teacher, actually!"
and is told, “My favourite teacher, actually – I love being in your class – I enjoy the view.”
"Right, time for me to go and clear my head"
Tyler thinks that it would be advisable for him to go;  he is tired and needs to clear his head.   Aled walks away,
Now Ricky wants to dance with Mathew
but Ricky is still insistent, “You are dancing with me this time – you can’t refuse!” Mathew is not in the mood for this,
"I want to dance with my best friend!"
but Ricky goes on, “This song’s amazing, and I want to dance with my best friend – I love you!”
"Have you taken something, Ricky?"
Mathew stresses that he is not dancing, and realises that Ricky is very unsteady on his feet;  “Have you taken something?   Apart from alcohol?” he demands, but Ricky denies this.
"Mam's not coming – she ate too much!"
In the Deri, Mark and Debbie are surprised that Kath will not be joining them, as she has eaten too much;  “She’ll be snoring on the sofa soon, guaranteed,” Mark comments.
Cassandra Auburn has another devotee
Debbie remarks that Iolo is very quiet this evening;  he is reading Cassie’s book.
"A drink on the house for Mr and Mrs Jones?"
Garry comes down to the bar in a very good humour, and will give Mr and Mrs Jones their next drink on the house.   “We’re celebrating,” he begins,
"The wedding – what else would we be celebrating?"
but then thinks again, and adds, “The wedding – what else would we be celebrating?   How was the honeymoon?   Did you have a nice time?”
"Look at him – he's smiling – it's spooky, isn't it?"
Debbie’s suspicions are immediately aroused;  she demands, “Where’s Garry, and what have you done with him?   Look at him – he’s smiling – it’s spooky, isn’t it?”
"I'm just in a good mood"
Garry maintains that he is just in a good mood.
"Does Ricky look all right to you?"
Mathew asks Tyler, “Does Ricky look all right to you?   I’m worried about him.”   Tyler remarks that first it is Sioned and now Ricky, but is told, “Are you surprised?   Look at them!”
Aled watches Tyler leave the flat . . .
Tyler looks is leaving now, but is being watched by Aled,
. . . and follows him
who follows him out.
"Have the rest of the night off, Dan!"
At the bar, Iolo asks Dan for another pint, but Garry is in such an unusually good humour, he gives Dan the rest of the night off;  “Don’t worry – you’ll get paid – off you go.   See you tomorrow!”
Debbie and Mark are becoming even more suspicious;  “Right, out with it!   There’s definitely something going on,” says Debbie.

"Have you won the lottery?"
Garry pretends he does not know what she is talking about;  “Have you won the lottery?   Bought a new garage?   Bought a new pub?”
He wonders if they are going to be like this all night, and Mark suggests that he has booked the holiday of a lifetime,
"Or Dani's pregnant!"
and Debbie adds, “Or Dani’s pregnant!”
His clumsiness gives the game away
Shocked by this this, Garry accidentally knocks over a glass,
"I'm right!   You're having a baby!"
and she realises, “I’m right, aren’t I?   You’re having a baby!   Don’t deny it – it’s obvious!”
"Are you sure you're the father this time?"
Mark offers his congratulations, and Debbie enquires, “Are you sure you’re the father this time?”
He confirms that he is perfectly sure of that, but points out that no-one is supposed to know;  “So don’t tell anyone!”
"Tell anyone what?"
Iolo has caught the tail end of this conversation, and asks “Tell anyone what?”   Without thinking, Debbie blurts out that Dani is pregnant, and Iolo says he will have to text Tyler, but Garry continues to insist that no-one is supposed to know.
They all agree to keep the secret
They all agree that they will not breathe a word, which does not mean a great deal, this being Cwmderi.
This is not the Ricky we are used to
Ricky is gyrating to the music, and gazing into space, much to Mathew’s concern;
"Come and have a sit down, Rick"
he tries to get Ricky to go and sit down, and not to worry about his new friends.
However, he fancies something more exhibitionist
He however refuses and starts waving his hands in the air.
"Ooh, isn't he cute?"
Mathew demands, “Sioned, has Ricky taken something?” but all he can get out of her is her opinion that Ricky is cute.
Mathew manhandles her to the bathroom
Mathew bundles her out of the room and into the bathroom.
"Come on, then – I won't say anything to Tesni!"
She demands what he is doing;  “Oh yeah – come on then – I won’t say anything to Tesni!” she exclaims, but he wants to know if she has given Ricky the pills, as this is rather a coincidence.   He can get no sense out of her,
"Don't you think I'm pretty?"
as she asks, “Don’t you think I’m pretty?”
He demands, “What happened to the pills you were supposed to dump?”
"Oh – those pills!"
“Oh – those pills,” she slurs, and picks up the Paracetamol bottle from the windowsill.
"I didn't give any to Ricky!"
“Don’t worry, I didn’t give any to Ricky!”
The last tablet is flushed away
Mathew empties the remaining tablet into the toilet and flushes it away;  “He was looking for tablets – he had a headache – we have to help him!” Mathew tells her,
Sioned realises the gravity of what she has done
and she suddenly feels guilty, although insisting that Ricky is fine and there is no need to panic.
"We have to phone for an ambulance!"
“We have to phone for an ambulance – what if he has a bad reaction or something?” Mathew snarls,
They just miss seeing Ricky, heading for a bedroom
but before they emerge from the bathroom, Ricky has rushed past in the direction of a bedroom.
"I've taken one, and I'm all right!"
Sioned is still emphasising, “I’ve taken one of them and I’m all right, aren’t I?”   Mathew tells her to check the bedroom, while he asks the partygoers if they have seen Ricky.
There is no-one in the bedroom
Sioned looks in the bedroom containing the ladder up to the attic, but sees no-one there;  on her return to the party,
"I have to go and find him!"
Mathew says that he is going to find Ricky.

He walks along the alley to the High Street, shouting Ricky’s name’  Sioned urges him to stop;  “He’s probably gone home – he’ll be sound asleep on the sofa.”

Then they hear a call from above, “Yoo hoo!” and, looking up,

are aghast to see that Ricky is on the roof.

Sioned demands to know what he is doing up there, and warns him not to look down.

He stands on the edge of the roof, raises his arms and looks heavenwards, shouting, “Aargh!”

Mathew tells Sioned to stay there while he hurries back to the flat;

she stands unsteadily and calls to Ricky.   From the bedroom, Mathew climbs the ladder into the attic.

In the Deri, Debbie tells Garry, “Stick another one in there, Dadi Monk!” but he reminds her that no-one is supposed to know.   “How about a bottle of bubbles,” she suggests, “We want to celebrate,”

and Iolo remarks that it is not often they get news like that.

Garry reluctantly agrees, but cautions them, “Don’t make too much noise!”   As he is pouring the champagne, Garry tells them that she has not been sick or anything.

Debbie recalls she was like that with Ricky;  “Sick as a dog with the others, but with Ricky, no problem.   And he slept all night – I couldn’t believe my luck.”   Garry would like a baby just like that.

Dani has just come downstairs just as they raise their glasses, and exclaim, “To the baby!”

Garry is quick to point out that he did not say a word to anyone, but they guessed;

“Do you think I’m stupid?” she snarls, but Debbie does not think it matters,

maintaining that it is nice to have some good news.   Dani wastes no time in returning upstairs.

Sioned is still shouting from the street, “Ricky, come down, please!”

and Mathew looks from the skylight on the roof to see him, arms aloft.
He says, “Ricky, I’m behind you – I want you to listen carefully.   Turn round very slowly.”

Ricky slowly lowers his arms, as Sioned watches, panic-stricken, from below.

Ricky is by now facing the skylight, and is urged to come towards Mathew and take his hand,

but he instead surveys his surroundings, as the incessant beat of the music can be heard below.   Mathew extends his hand and encourages Ricky to come towards him.

Then Sioned shouts from below, “Ricky, just come down, please!” and distracts his attention.

He waves to her and calls her his best friend;  she begs him to go to Mathew;  she is desperate for him to do that.

He once again looks upwards, raises his arms and shouts, “Aargh!”

Garry is still trying to persuade Dani that he did not say a word;  “Debbie guessed!” but she does not believe him.

Iolo is about to leave, and notices Madge and Beti looking at something out of the window.

He goes outside to investigate, and when he sees what is happening,

returns inside to summon Mark and Debbie.

Ricky is still in the same position on the edge of the roof, and will not respond to Mathew’s entreaties;  “Please, Ricky, come towards me!”

Again, Ricky lowers his arms, and, appearing disorientated, begins to turn towards the skylight.

“Ricky, give me your hand – everything’s going to be all right.”

Debbie and Mark have rushed from the Deri, and shout up to him, “It’s Mam, OK?   Come down, love, please!”

He waves to his mother, and asks why she wants him to come down.   “Because we want you to be safe.”

Then Garry shouts that he is going up there, but it is pointed out that Mathew is already there, and the police are on their way.

Once more Ricky raises his arms and shouts;  the crowd urging him to go to Mathew, who will help him down.

Tyler joins Iolo in the crowd, and Mathew pleads, ever more insistently, for Ricky to come to him.   He turns, and is expected to go to Mathew;

Mark calls to him to take it slowly.

Ricky looks at Mathew, and greets him, “My best friend!”   Again he raises his arms, looks up, and falls backwards from the building.

He crashes through the shop blind,

to the horror of all those watching,

and lands on the pavement below.   The episode ends with cries of grief and anguish from the onlookers, who rush to the inert figure.
