Gwyneth does some snooping
Gwyneth is peering out of the window of number 9, and sees Debbie standing by the alley, talking on her phone;
"I'm in the village"
“What do you mean?” she says, “I’m in the village,”
Then Jessie ends the call
but then Jessie ends the call.
"How are you, Debbie?"
Gaynor is passing, and asks Debbie how she is;  Debbie replies that she is checking if she has enough money to buy a pint of milk.
"Things are tight at the end of the month"
“You know how things are – tight at the end of the month,” she mumbles, and Gaynor offers to buy her some milk, but she declines.
"Sorry for being sharp with you the other day"
“Sorry for being sharp with you the other day,” Debbie apologises, and confirms that Ricky is over the worst.
Gaynor then asks how she is coping, and Debbie replies that she is fine, although she does not look like it;  “You’ve gone through hell recently, haven’t you?” Gaynor continues,
Debbie seems interested in this cyclist . . .
but then Debbie’s attention is attracted by a boy on a mountain bike,
. . . who stops in the alley
who stops in the alley.
Gwyneth is keeping watch . . .
Gwyneth comes out of her house on the other side of the road as Debbie turns to see the boy with the bike throw a package on to the ground, and then cycle away.
. . . as Debbie picks up the latest consignment
When Debbie has picked it up, Gwyneth suspects that he threatened her, then realises,
"That's how it works, then"
“This is how it works – they bring you drugs, and you take them somewhere else.   Where are you going to take them, then?”
Debbie has to be somewhere
Debbie will says no more, as she is in a great hurry to go, but is warned to be careful.
Auntie Nel has been covered up
In the shop flat, Mathew is covering up the painting with a sheet;  Eifion protests that he should not be hiding Auntie Nel like that, but Mathew anxiously tells him, “I want her out of here as soon as possible.”
"I don't want her to hear"
Eifion wonders why he is whispering;  “Because I don’t want her to hear,” Mathew replies.
“Don’t be ridiculous – it’s only a painting!” Eifion laughs, but Mathew does not want to make her angry,
"The curse must be working"
and Eifion suggests that it is the curse in action.
This is what made Tesni leave early
Mathew says, “Tesni was here the other night, and she had to leave early – why?   Because Auntie Nel was staring at her – her eyes follow you around the room.   I’m serious, right?
"There – see what I mean?"
“If you don’t believe me, stand there – now over here – you see?
"Creepy!"
“Creepy – will you help me get rid of her?”   Eifion just smiles.
Kath wants to sell surplus DVDs
Mark finds that his mother is sorting through Ricky’s DVDs;  “He’s got two of these – we can sell one,” Kath suggests, but Mark instructs her to put them all back.
"You sound like you've run a marathon!"
Debbie arrives, and Mark says she sounds like she has run a marathon;  she does not want to accompany them to fetch some milk,
"I was thinking of going to see Ricky"
but says she was thinking of going to see Ricky, and does not want Mark to come with her.   She looks very worried, and as soon as they have gone,
Someone has photographed their front door . . .
receives another text with a photo of their front door;
. . . and Debbie peers through the curtains
she peers through the curtains, anxious to see if anyone is watching the house.
"Are you going to be long, Anita?"
In the CwmFM studio, Siôn is becoming impatient, but Anita tells him not to rush her;  “I’d like to be in the Gower by lunchtime,” he says,
"I've booked us a table at Cwrtmynach Arthur"
“I’ve booked us a table in Cwrt Arthur at one o’clock.”
"I thought we were just going for a ride"
Anita thought they were just going out for a ride in the car, but he suggests that she would appreciate something more than a bag of chips.
Hywel comes in and is surprised to see them;  he says that he has come for some peace, and wonders why they are there.
Anita is further investigating the Council cuts
Anita has just located the recording equipment she was looking for and announces, “I’ve found someone who will talk to me about the cuts the Council is planning for Brynawelon.”
"A good reporter never reveals her sources"
Siôn points out that a good reporter never reveals her sources;  “She suspects that something is going on,” and Anita is determined to get to the bottom of it, considering it a very important issue for local people.
"How long have you been interested in the Council?"
Hywel wonders wow long she has had this big interest in the Council,
"Since I hears there was an empty seat"
and she replies,  “Since I heard there was an empty seat on the Council.”
"Dozens will probably apply"
“I don’t think you’ll be the only one trying, “predicts Hywel, “Dozens of people will probably apply.”   Siôn agrees that local elections can be very fierce battles, and jokingly suggests that he may decide to stand;
Anita does not favour this
when Anita looks disapproving,
"Or perhaps not"

he thinks he may not.
Hywel contacts Brynmor Richards
As soon as they have left for their trip to the Gower, Hywel gets out his phone and dials Brynmor’s number;  “Hello, Brynmor – how are you?   Listen, would it be convenient for you to meet me tomorrow for lunch?
"I'd like to discuss this Council business with you"
“I’d like to discuss this Council business with you.”
"You say this picture is priceless . . ."
In the Deri, Kelly (whose hair looks very different) says, “Hang on a minute – you’re telling me that this picture is priceless?
". . . why are you getting rid of it, then?"
“Why are you getting rid of it, then?”   Mathew informs her that there is no room in the flat,
"There's plenty of room in the café"
but Eifion is of the opinion that there is plenty in the café.
Obviously, Geraint is still working behind the bar
Gaynor has been listening to this conversation, and asks the name of the artist;  when told that it is Kitty Morm, she is very impressed;

"Is he famous, then?"
Kelly wants to know if he is famous, and they tell her that it is a ‘she’.
"Her pictures are in several galleries in London . . ."
“Her pictures are in several galleries in London – you’re very lucky to have it,” Gaynor knowledgeably advises,
". . . but they're not to everyone's taste"
“Her work isn’t to everyone’s taste, but she’s famous – it’s worth having.”
Realising that they are winning Kelly over to their point of view,
"People travel miles to see her work"
Mathew alleges, “People travel miles to see her work,” and Eifion likens it to the Banksy in Port Talbot;  “People will come in, order a coffee, look and enjoy themselves.”
"Oh, go on, then!"
Kelly is finally persuaded;  “Oh, go on, then!” she says,
and Mathew looks very jubilant, wanting to move it immediately.   If she will give them the key, Kelly can stay in the Deri, and they will do all the hard work.   Mathew does not fancy the prospect of not moving the painting until the weekend, and is very keen to get the flat back.
"I'll be over to check you've done a good job"
“OK – but don’t make a mess,” Kelly tells them, “I’ll be over in a bit to check you’ve done a good job.”
"They're just like Laurel and Hardy"
As they rush off, Gaynor remarks that they are like Laurel and Hardy.
Debbie, seen through the back of a dining chair
At Maes-y-Deri, Debbie is deep in thought when a further text arrives,
"Leave me alone!"
and she mutters, “Leave me alone!”   Then there is yet another,
She receives her latest instruction
demanding that she be at the park in an hour;
The strain is telling on Debbie
she is becoming distraught and retrieves a couple of brown packages
Not a good hiding-place
from their far from secure hiding-place down the side of the sofa, putting them in her bag.
"Pro bono, as Perry Mason used to say"
As her phone sounds with another message, Mark and his mother return with Dai, who is offering to do something, “Pro bono – as Perry Mason used to say.”
"You doing something for nothing?"
Kath cannot believe that he is willing to do something for nothing;  “You never do anything for free, Dai Ashurst!”
He protests that he is the first person to put his hand in his pocket when the community needs something.
“Where would the rugby club be without me?” he demands,
"I thought you'd be at the hospital"
and Mark is surprised that Debbie is not at the hospital.   She replies that she will be going there later, but appears to have a lot on her mind.
"There's a limited range of colours . . ."
“Dai is offering to paint Ricky’s room,” Mark informs her, but Dai points out that there is a limit to the colours available – brilliant white, magnolia or powder blue.
". . . and I'd like to put an 'APD' sign outside"
“One other thing – while I’m doing the work, I’d like to put a sign outside saying ‘APD’,” he adds, and Kath knew that there would be something.
"There has to be something in it for him!"
She maintains that he cannot do anyone a favour unless there is something in it for him.   Mark does not care what he does, as long as it is free,
Debbie is in a hurry to leave again
and Debbie has no interest in what colour it is, but is in a great hurry to go, sure that Mark will be able to sort everything out.
Just by the substation is the drop-off point
The next we see of Debbie is in the park;  she reaches the drop-off point by the electricity substation.
Debbie looks around, nervously . . .
Looking carefully around, satisfied that no-one is watching,
. . . then deposits the two packages . . .
she places the packages by a wall, next to the litter bin.
. . . and walks away
Then she walks away, taking out her phone.
The painting is manhandled out of the flat
From the back entrance to the shop, in the alley, Mathew and Eifion emerge with that painting;  Dai is driving along the High Street when he has to suddenly stop at the zebra crossing, and is very shocked
That nude suddenly appears in front of Dai . . .
to see the painting being carried across in front of his car.
. . . and, surprisingly, he does not say, "Nefi wen!"
“What on earth!” he exclaims.
The courier arrives for the packages . . .
In the park, a figure in a hoodie retrieves the packages left by Debbie,
. . . and leaves another in their place
and replaces them with another;
She walks away as Debbie returns
she is walking away as Debbie returns,
She cautiously retrieves the package . . .
again checking that there is no-one around,
. . . and checks the contents
and picks up this package, which contains a wad of notes.
In the café, the picture has been installed, and they are very pleased with their handiwork;
The painting now 'adorns' the café wall
Kelly enters, and does not know quite what to say.    “I know what youre going to say – it’s big!” Eifion tells her,
"See, there's plenty of room in here"
and Mathew insist that there is enough room there for it.
Gaynor admires the technique
Gaynor admires the way the picture was painted and the technique used.   They thank Kelly for letting them do this, and Gaynor reminds Kelly she did say it was not to everyone’s taste,
"It's stunning!!"
but Kelly eventually finds the right word to describe the painting;  “It’s stunning!” she gasps.
Rhys invites his father for a pint
Rhys discovers his father at CwmFM;  “Stop working and come out for a pint with me!” he urges, but Hywel replies that if he does, he is afraid he will say something he regrets.
"Going around, pretending you love each other!"
“You two, going around, pretending you love each other!” Hywel sneers, but Rhys answers that they are not pretending.   “Listen to yourself – you get on my nerves –
"You're like a couple of teenagers!"
like some teenagers around the place!” Hywel continues.
Rhys assures him that they are not doing it to wind him up, but because they like each other;
"Not jealous, are you?"
“You’re not jealous, are you?”   Hywel accuses him of using Ffion to get to her money – that is obvious.   “Is that why you told her about Sioned and me?” Rhys demands,
"It's only right she knows what you're like!"
and is told that it is only right that Ffion knows what he is like.
"You're pathetic!"
“You’re hoping you can win her back!” laughs Rhys, and his father boasts that he can do better than him.   “You’re pathetic!” Rhys goes on, and when Hywel furiously confronts him,
"If you can't handle it – tough!"
warns, “You’re embarrassing!   Ffion and I love each other – if you can’t handle it – tough!   I’m going to be with Ffion – you won’t be able to change that!”
Debbie counts the takings
Gwyneth discovers Debbie counting the money in the Deri, and remarks that it is still worth it;
"I've had enough, Gwyn!"
Debbie says that she has had enough.
"Well, you can't stop"
“Well, you can’t stop – it’s not a sensible thing to do,” Gwyneth advises.
"Nothing's worth this hassle!"
“She’s been texting me all day!” Debbie exclaims, but is told that she is managing to control the situation, so what is the harm.   Debbie maintains that nothing is worth this hassle;  then there is another text,
"I just want some peace!"
and she pleads that she just wants some peace.
When the phone sounds again and she ignores it, Gwyneth points out that it may be Mark or the hospital.
A photo of Ricky in his hospital bed further unsettles Debbie
She looks, and is aghast to see that there is a photo of Ricky in his hospital bed.
Gwyneth maintains they are just trying to put her under pressure,
"And they're succeeding!"
and Debbie confirms that it is working, and she has to go to the hospital now.
Gwyneth tries to explain to her, “They’re business people, when it comes down to it.
"They're not going to risk their investment in you"
“They’re not going to risk their investment in you.   Ricky’s not in danger.”   Neverthless, Debbie is determined to go to the hospital.
"I can't tell you how glad I am!"
In the shop flat, Mathew is very relieved;  “I can’t tell you how glad I am that she’s gone – thanks, mate!”   Eifion appears to be playing a trick on him,
Eifion prepares a practical joke . . .
as he suggests putting some music on, but directs Mathew to the wrong remote control,
. . . involving this remote control
while Eifion himself has the correct one.
The music suddenly becomes louder,
"Hey, turn it down Mathew!"
controlled of course by Eifion, and Mathew tries to turn it down;  after this has happened several times,
"The button must be stuck"
with Mathew supposing that the button must be stuck,
"You don't think this is the curse?"
he comes to the conclusion that it must be Auntie Nel’s curse taking effect,
"I'm not staying here – forget the curry!"
and is very eager to get out of the place, leaving behind the curry which they have brought from Cwm Delhi.
Eifion regards it as hilarious
Eifion finds this very amusing.
"I've been trying to contact you, Debs"
Debbie comes into the Deri, and Mark says he has been trying to contact her for over an hour;
"I've been at the hospital"
she gives the excuse that she turned off her phone, and has been at the hospital.   Ricky was asleep, and she did not want to wake him.
"I wanted to go on my own – all right?"
She angrily insists that she wanted to go on her own, so she could spend some time with him,
They detect that something is wrong here
and both Mark and Kath suspect that something is wrong.
"He's not safe – none of us are safe!"
Debbie joins Gwyneth at the bar, confirming that Ricky is all right, but she adds, “He’s not safe – I don’t think any of us are safe –

"This has to stop, but I don't know how!""
“this has to stop, but I don’t know what to do!”
