"I'll have a scone, if you're paying"
As they come round the corner by the chippy, Kath fancies a cappuccino;  Debbie says that she will also have a scone, if Kath is paying.
"There's no point piling the calories back on"
“There’s no point working out with Rhys and then piling the calories back on,” Kath tells her.
"It's all muscle!"
Debbie thinks she will also have to lose a bit of weight, and Kath comments that it is easy to hide it underneath all the layers this time of year, while also boasting that her clothes are not as tight as they were.   “It’s all muscle,” she maintains, just as Mark and Iori approach through the alley.
"Debbie, come to town with me"
Iori is pleased to see Debbie, as he wants someone to accompany him to town to buy a new jacket and bow tie;  “I want the opinion of a woman with style, like you.” he flatters her.
"I'm going to a fitness session"
Debbie replies that she cannot go, as she is going with Kath to a fitness session.   She is warned by Kath that the session is tough,
"I think you ought to go with Iori"
and she ought to go with Iori, in case he spends a fortune on dickie bows.   Debbie realises that she is being dissuaded from going to the session, so is even more determined.
Iori pays for his van repair
Iolo arrives at number 10, to pay for the repair to his van;  Gerwyn says that his secretary will deal with it.
"£60?   That's very reasonable"
Iolo considers £60 is very reasonable,
"My cashier will give you a receipt"
and is told that the cashier will give him a receipt.
"It's looking good"
Hywel is on the phone to Angela, commenting that it is looking good;  “Wooden gates – and we’ll plant trees.
"That's what I'm going to do"
“If making a green application will get it passed, that’s what I’m going to do.”
"I was just checking my account"
Rhys comes in and his father tells him, “I was checking my account, so the sale of Pwll Bach goes smoothly.”
Rhys is rather downhearted, as the leisure centre has launched a new deal to attract members;
"I'm barely making any profit as it is"
“It’s likely to affect my classes – I can’t afford to reduce my prices again.   I’m barely making any profit as it is.”
Hywel advises him, “You should keep things fresh, and simply make them  want to come back to you.
"I've got a couple of ideas"
“I’ve got a couple of ideas.”
"Everything on this is full of fat!"
In the Deri, Kath asks if they have another menu with healthy food on it;  “Everything on this is full of fat!”
"There's no hot food at the moment"
Garry is on his own, so there is no hot food at the moment, but he points out that Britt will be in later if they want to wait.
"Come to town with me, Kath!"
Iori approaches Kath and tempts her, “Come to town with me – you’ll have more fun than in a keep fit class.”   She, however, is determined to do better than Debbie.
"Everyone needs to relax more"
Just along the bar, Ffion advises her not to get stressed about it, and insists that everyone needs to relax more, so that the body can take care of itself.
“Download this app – it’s brilliant!” Ffion enthuses,
"Control your emotions – not the other way round"
and Iolo, who has it, admits he has not listened to it lately.   She encourages him, “Stick with it – you’ll control your emotions, not the other way round.”
"Which college taught you that mumbo-jumbo?"
Iori wonders from which college she learned all that mumbo-jumbo;
"You sound like Dai Ashurst"
she replies that he sounds like Dai Ashurst, and stresses that it has done him a lot of good.   Kath asks Ffion to put the app on her phone, admitting that she is willing to try anything.
"Cup of tea, please, Anita"
Jaclyn comes into the café, and orders a cup of tea from Anita, who is serving;  she sits by her husband
"I've sent out invoices worth more than £3,000 today"
and comments, “So this is where you’re hiding, to get away from your wife’s nagging.   I’ve sent out invoices worth more than £3,000 for you today.”   He concedes that he needs to be more organised with the books.
"I'm just helping Kelly out"
They did not know that Anita worked in the café, and she explains she is helping Kelly, who has gone to the cash and carry;  Jaclyn asks if there is a job going, revealing that she has lost her job.   Gerwyn alleges that she could give Mary Berry lessons;
"No soggy bottoms with Jac!"
“There’s not a soggy bottom anywhere near her pies!”
"We have a specialist menu"
As it happens, Anita is looking for a chef at Tapas, but points out they offer a specialist menu;  Jaclyn did continental cuisine at college.
"I fixed her Fiesta in return for food!"
“That’s where we met,” interrupts Gerwyn, “I fixed her Fiesta in return for good food – it was lovely – the food and Jac!”
Rhys wants to host fitness sessions on the farm
Rhys has gone round to Penrhewl, but Eifion does not know how he can help;  “I’d like to host a few fitness sessions here,” Rhys explains, “Lifting old tractor tyres, throwing bales and so on.
"Farmers are naturally fit"
“Farmers are naturally fit, and that’s the image I want to use.”
"You could have a session at mucking-out time!"
Eifion jokes that he can organise sessions when it is mucking-out time – with pitchforks, but Rhys imagines that Health and Safety would go nuts.
Eifion remembers that they have some old pulleys, which could be used for lifting weights.   He cannot foresee any problem with Jim and Eileen, as it is Rhys – and not his father;
"What does he intend to do with Pwll Bach?"
“What does he intend to do with Pwll Bach?   That’s what I’d like to know,” says Eifion.
Rhys replies, “He bought it to stop people opening it as a dump – he did the village a favour.”   Eifion reminds him that Hywel is a businessman, so it stands to reason that he has plans;
"No-one spends £100,000 for bats and badgers
“No-one spends £100,000 just to let the bats and badgers play around in it,”
Rhys wonders what his father is up to
causing Rhys to be suspicious.
"We don't want you falling asleep like Dai Ashurst!"
Iolo is listening to Ffion’s app in the Deri, but Kath removes his earphones;  “We don’t want you falling asleep like Dai Ashurst!” she says.  He remarks that the app makes a lot of sense, and Kath agrees she will listen to it over her Horlicks tonight.
"I walk more that 10,000 steps a day on my round"
When she tries to encourage Mark to join them for the session, he protests, “I walk more than 10,000 steps a day on my round – I don’t need keep fit lessons.”
"There's not an ounce of fat on me"
Iori also agrees, maintaining that there is not an ounce of fat on him;  “I take a supplement with my lunch, then I only eat half a portion afterwards.   Once I stop taking it, the pounds pile back on.”
"I've been offered a job in Tapas"
Jaclyn announces to Garry that they are celebrating, and it is suggested that Gerwyn has reached the big 4–0.   “I’ve been offered a job in Tapas – if the trial session goes well.”
"I could do with a full-time chef here"
Garry is rather annoyed, as he could do with a full-time chef at the Deri;  the staff are sharing the work at the moment, and he admits that the menu is not very exciting.
“Tell me straight – are you offering me a job?” Jaclyn demands, and Garry wonders if Anita would mind;
Anita most certainly does mind
judging by her expression, she does.
"Eifion was surprisingly supportive"
Back home, Rhys tells his father he was surprised that Eifion was so supportive of his plan, and Hywel thinks he may be seeing some potential in it.   “I’ll give you a mention on CwmFM, if you want,” he offers, but Rhys needs to discuss it with Jim and Eileen first.
"You won't get much support from Jim"
Hywel does not expect Jim to be supportive, after the friction between them over Pwll Bach;  “Eifion suspects you have some plans for the place,” begins Rhys, “You wouldn’t deceive people, would you?
"What's going on, Dad?"
“What’s going on?   It’s only fair for me to know what you intend to do there.”
"It's a long-term investment . . ."
Hywel maintains, nebulously, that it is a long-term investment,
". . . I'm going to open a landfill site"
and after some more prompting, announces, “Well, I’m going to open a landfill site there.”
"Exactly what Jim intended to do"
Rhys points out that is exactly what Jim had intended to do;  “You were leading the protests against it!”
"I have every right to change my mind"
His father says he has every right to change his mind.   “I don’t believe this – you’ve fooled us all – it’s deception!   What’s wrong with you?
"You've changed – since meeting Angela!"
You’ve changed – since meeting Angela!
"She's got inside your head!"
She’s been in your head – don’t you have any principles any more?”
Iolo is away with the fairies
At the gym, Kath, Debbie and Iolo have arrived, with Iolo still listening to the app;  “I’m sure I don’t need any help – I’m much fitter than you!” Debbie boasts.
"Are you listening to funk to get you in the mood?"
Then she asks Iolo, “Are you listening to some funk to get you in the mood?” and he tells her it is the mindfulness app, which tells them how to relax and get rid of stress.
"This session won't help you relax"
“Why are you here, then?   This session won’t help you relax,” she exclaims;  he realises that she is correct, and goes home instead.   In the doorway Iori has appeared, and is talking intently to another member of the class.
Iori is still trying to flog his so-called 'supplements'
He announces that he is not joining them;  “I’m the finished product,” he insists, and asks Kath, “Why do you bother coming here?   The supplements I take are much less hassle,” but she tells him to go away.
"I know I should have mentioned it"
Rhys is still at the house, where his father is explaining that he knows he should have mentioned the plans;
"Instead you've discussed it all with Angela!"
“But instead, you’ve discussed it all with Angela!” is the angry response from Rhys.
"It was my idea"
Hywel insists that it was his idea, and Angela thought it was a good one;  “Yes, I bet – you and Angela want revenge on Penrhewl!   You’re playing dirty!”   Hywel stresses that people have to take risks, and when he retires it will be Rhys’ business.
"I've got an honest business to run!"
“I’ve got an honest business to run!” is Rhys’ conclusion, as he leaves for the gym.
Debbie childishly ties Kath's shoelaces together
Kath discovers that Debbie has tied her shoelaces together,
"I could have broken my leg!"
and does not regard it as funny;  in the background, Iori is chatting to another of the class.
Rhys soon sees off Iori
Then Rhys arrives, in a rather bad mood, and soon gets rid of Iori,
"The supplements are running low!"
who, on his way to the door, points out to Kath that the supplements are running low, so she tells him to keep some for her.
"Where's Iolo?"
Rhys is even more put out when he learns that Iolo has gone home to listen to the mindfulness app.
"How's the work in Morawel coming along?"
In the Deri, Gerwyn asks Anita how the work in Morawel is coming along,
"They haven't even started yet"
and is told that the builders have not even started yet.   He is more concerned about when they will be finished, and wonders if the job she has offered Jaclyn can be temporary until they move into Morawel.   She does not think that she can offer anything permanent.
"I don't think Tapas is up to the same standard"
Jaclyn has been on a tour of the Deri’s kitchen, which impresses her;  “I don’t think Tapas is up to the same standard,” Garry scathingly remarks.
Anita’s response is, “Tapas’s kitchen is fantastic!”
"The advantage is that you would deal directly with the boss"
Garry  points out that the great advantage of working at the Deri is that Jaclyn would deal directly with the boss, not merely with a manager.
"I'm not getting into an auction here, Garry!"
They each try to persuade her, with Garry promising to top any offer made by Anita.
Jaclyn accepts Anita's offer
He is rather offended when Jaclyn tells him, “Anita’s been so good to us – as she offered me a job first, I’m going to accept her offer.”   Garry laughs, and cannot believe that she is serious.
"It's easy to strain your heart"
After her fitness session, Debbie looks exhausted, and is warned by Iori that it is easy to strain her heart;  “When you eat, you’ll put all the pounds back on –
"You take one of these before food"
“you know about the supplements I take, don’t you?   You take one of these before food, and it fills you up – it’s like drinking a pint of water, but much nicer.   I’ve got so many happy customers!”
The hard sell works, and Debbie agrees she will try anything;  “It’s the best £10 you will ever spend,” he assures her,
"I'll give you £5!"
but she beats him down to £5, and warns him not to sell any to Kath.
A noise attracts Garry's attention
Garry is emptying the ashtrays outside the Deri when he hears a car engine revving;
"Yes, it does sound a bit rough"
Gerwyn is looking at the engine of Mark’s car.   “I’ve fixed a few engines myself, but I let the pros do it now,” Mark says.
"I've had enough of you stealing my customers!"
Garry comes across and complains, “I’ve had enough of you stealing my customers!”   Then he asks Mark, “Isn’t Monk’s Motors good enough for you?”
“Gerwyn can tune engines with his ear – he doesn’t need a computer!” is Mark’s reply, “And he’s cheaper.”
"That's because he's not paying taxes"
Garry says the reason for that is he is not paying any taxes.
“If I were you, I’d get lost,” he advises Gerwyn, who can understand that he is angry, because Jaclyn turned down his offer, but Garry becomes threatening;
Garry turns menacing
“If I see any more of my clients coming to you – you’ll need a new crankshaft!”
"Don't push it too much, Ffi"
Rhys asks Ffion not to push the mindfulness app too much, as he is losing members;  she argues that it should not affect his classes, as people can do both things in moderation.
"I'm not sure what's going on between her and Dad"
He supposes that she is right, and then notices Angela join his father at the bar;  “There’s no peace to be had,” he groans, “I’m not quite sure what’s going on between her and Dad.”
"Angela's not very welcome here"
Ffion confirms that several people have been asking that, and maintaining that Angela is not very welcome here.   “It doesn’t look as if she will be leaving any time soon,” he says, regretfully.
“Hywel has done this village a favour by buying Pwll Bach,” Ffion remarks, “You should be proud of him.”
Rhys does not reply
She can see that he does not agree, but he will not say any more, as his father is approaching.
"We were talking about exercise classes"
Ffion tells Hywel that they were talking about exercise classes, and everyone is praising Rhys;  then she takes her leave.
"I don't want Pwll Bach to come between us"
Hywel and Angela sit down with Rhys;  “Look, I don’t want Pwll Bach to come between us and spoil things,” Hywel begins, “I’m more than ready to let it go.”
"That would be a shame, Hywel!"
Angela protests that would be a shame, as Hywel informs Rhys that it is his decision now.   “You’re putting me under pressure now!” protests Rhys, and Angela is anxious to learn if he told Ffion anything.
Iori is continuing to con Kath with his appetite suppressants;  “I’ve been taking them for years!” he assures her,
"It looks just like chocolate"
but she thinks they look just like chocolate.   “Yes, they’re chocolate meal supplements – but there is no sugar in them,” he continues, so she agrees to have a packet.
"For a lovely woman like you, £10"
“The only side effect is weight loss,” he stresses, “For a lovely woman like you, £10, please!
"£10?   You must be joking!"
“You won’t have to pay huge amounts to that Rhys, and you won’t smell of sweat.”
"I've been speaking to someone from the council"
Eifion comes into the pub, and advises Hywel, “I’ve been speaking to someone from the council – they were looking for Pwll Bach.   Why do you need a bigger access to it?
"Come on – we'll all find out in the end!"
“What are your plans?   Come on, we’ll all find out in the end!”
Hywel appears temporarily lost for words,
"A theme park – a rollercoaster to go through the shafts!"
so Angela pipes up, “A theme park – rides, a rollercoaster.   Hywel wants the rollercoaster to go through the shafts.”
Eifion is incredulous;  “You’re going to destroy the area as well as Penrhewl!”
"My plans will bring jobs to Cwmderi"
Hywel insists that his plans will bring jobs to Cwmderi;  “But at whose expense?   The place will be full of tourists!” Eifion rages.
"Hywel's bought the place, and he can do what he likes!"
“Hywel’s bought the place, so he can do what he likes with it!” Angela exclaims, but Eifion promises that he will see about that.   He also informs Rhys that he can forget about using Penrhewl for his pathetic business.
"I haven't done anything"
When Rhys protests that he has done nothing, he is told, “You’re his son – that’s enough!   I won’t let you – or anyone else – turn Cwmderi into a disgusting theme park.
Eifion is determined
I’ll make sure of that!”
