"Dani, are you all right" |
Gwyneth looks around her |
Tyler is in terrible pain |
"I think I've dislocated it!" |
Iolo cannot see a way out |
"What happened?" |
Gaynor comes round |
"We're stuck, Ed!' |
"I don't want to make things worse" |
He looks for any way of escape |
"There's not enough air!" |
"Listen, someone is bound to try and get us out, OK?" |
Jim hopes for a phone signal |
"It's hard enough to get a signal in the village!" |
"What if they've all been killed?" |
"They'll be fine!" |
"What if I'm responsible for this?" |
"It's like a maze down here" |
"You'll have to put the shoulder back in!" |
"Lucky I once went out with a paramedic" |
Iolo successfully performs the task |
"We must look for a way out" |
Mark approaches the mine . . . |
. . . and squeezes through the fence |
Angela cannot get hold of Hywel |
"He went to the Cash and Carry hours ago!" |
Angela gleefully tells her that Ed was with Gaynor |
Garry says that Dani also went without telling him,
but Kelly wonders, “Why hasn’t he phoned?” Garry assumes that there is no signal at the mine, as Dani’s phone is going straight to voicemail.
Angela will try again to contact Hywel.
"Why hasn't he phoned?" |
Angela tries ringing Hywel again . . . |
At that moment, Mark has reached the entrance to the mine,
and as he looks inside, he hears the faint sound of a phone ringing; he goes in to investigate.
. . . and Mark hears the sound of a phone |
"No, voicemail again" |
Kelly thinks that something has happened |
Mark enters the mine . . . |
. . . finds the unconscious Hywel . . . |
. . . and immediately phones 999 |
"I admire the way you've gone about this 'Love the Planet'!" |
"That's why we're stuck here!" |
"I never thought you would turn into an eco-warrior!" |
"I didn't care, as long as I kept busy" |
"I only came to try and get people to like me" |
"Gwern has never said a bad word about you" |
"What happens when he finds out what I've done?" |
"I'm sure you'll deal with it" |
Hywel has been brought out . . . |
. . . and Angela is sorry that she left him |
The rescue leader wants the names of everyone who was at the mine when she left earlier.
"How long is this going to take?" |
"Mr Monk, I'm doing everything I can" |
"Jim. I don't want to die here" |
"It's important for you to breathe slowly" |
"In, two three – out, two, three" |
"No news yet, Siôn" |
Eileen and Diane arrive |
There must be another way into the mine |
"I'm sure there are other ways in" |
"Be positive – or shut up!" |
Mark sets off to find another entrance |
Ed tells Gaynor, “Kelly will be expecting me – she will have reported it!”
Gaynor points out that she will not know where he is.
"Kelly won't know where you are" |
"Why are you with her if you don't love her?" |
"Of course I love her!" |
"After Sioned, I don't want to marry anyone!" |
"Kelly is nothing like Sioned" |
"Sioned changed after we got married" |
“I’m not telling you to marry Kelly,” she adds, “But you have to stop thinking that she is going to turn out like Sioned – or you’re going to destroy any hope of . . .”
Then she stops, hearing the sound of dripping, and worries that water is coming in.
"There's water coming in!" |
"Why are you so cruel to DJ?" |
"I was in love with Sioned" |
Mark has climbed down into the mine |
He bangs on a pipe . . . |
. . . and the sound is heard by Dani |
She bangs the pipe in reply |
Mark shouts back to them, “I’m going to get help, OK?” He hurries back to the ladder, and begins to climb out, but the rungs give way,
and he falls back down into the tunnel, where he lies, motionless.
Mark's rescue attempt copmes to an abrupt stop |
Darkness has now fallen outside |
"We'll have to find another way in" |
"There must be a way of moving it!" |
"We don't want to risk another collapse" |
"How are you going to get them out, then?" |
"The team is doing everything they can!" |
