Playtime with Ifan
Sara is playing with Ifan, and asks Jason to bring home some milk tonight;
"Bring back the change"
she gives him the money to pay for it and expects to get the change.
"Things are getting better, aren't they?"
“Jase, things are getting better, aren’t they?” she says anxiously,
"Of course they are"
and he replies that of course they are;
"Ta-ta, Dadi!"
he says goodbye to Ifan and goes to work.
"Ger and Jac are going there"
In the Deri, Brenda sees a whist drive at Llanarthur advertised, and says that Gerwyn and Jaclyn are going there;  she will probably be getting a takeaway, but Garry suggests that she should bring the children there.
"The Bull has a special offer on Tuesdays"
“The Bull has a special offer – a meal for two and a bottle of wine for £15 every Tuesday,” she tells him, “You can do something for us three.”
"Our prices are fine as they are"
Dani is of the opinion that their prices are fine as they are,
"Just a one-off, mind!"
but Garry amenably agrees to a one-off special offer for her.   Dani is not impressed;
"Everyone will want the same now!"
“Nice one, Gar – everybody will want the same!   Why did you agree?   She is lazy, Garry!”
All the lambing is getting Eifion down
Eifion comes in for a pint, and is exhausted as he is working around the clock with lambing;  “This is the first break I’ve had since Saturday!” he complains.
"I've told all the staff about Aaron's situation"
Gaynor is at Britt’s flat, advising that she has spoken to all the school staff to make them aware of Aaron’s situation;
Britt seems to be in a world of her own
Britt is just staring blankly into space, and does not seem to be taking any notice.
"Is there anything you want to talk about?"
“Is there anything you want to talk about?” Gaynor asks, and she is simply thanked for coming over.
“I’m not coping too badly,” Britt says,
"Colin's a hero for punching a paedophile!"
“The cons all think that Colin’s a hero for punching a paedophile!”   Gaynor suspects that all is not well,
"Things are easier now Chester is back"
but Britt assures her, “Now that Chester is living with us, things are a lot easier – I don’t know what I’d do without him.   I’d better get myself ready – I’m going to see Colin this afternoon!”
"Right, back to the lambing!"
Eifion drinks up his pint, and is about to return to supervise further lambing, when he meets Jason in the doorway, who is looking for Mathew;
Mathew appears to have gone missing
he has apparently not returned from his lunch break.   “We’ve got a job in Cwrtmynach!” says Jason.
"Here's your money, less the £5"
Eifion is sorry for not contacting him sooner, but things have been hectic on the farm;  “Here you go, minus the £5 I put down,” he says, handing over Jason’s winnings.
Jason is very uneasy
He looks very uneasy at the sight of the money.
"I didn't have much of an appetite"
Britt comes in, still looking rather distracted, and says she did not have any lunch, as she does not have much of an appetite.
Britt pores over the photos
Garry brings some photographs to take to Colin, and she looks at them;  “I don’t want to rush you, but if you don’t go now you’ll be too late,” Garry reminds her.
She simply stares at the photos, with a rather vacant look on her face,
"Do you want me to take you?"
and he asks if she wants him to take her to the prison;  “I’d prefer to go on my own,” she replies.   Both Garry and Dani are concerned that she is far from all right, but she says that of course she is,
Britt shambles off . . .
and makes her slow exit from the pub.
. . . and Dani says she looks terrible
“She looks terrible,” comments Dani, but Garry simply considers that she is a bit pale, and then has to go to the garage.
"Chilli con carne today"
Rhys comes in, but is not impressed with today’s special, chilli con carne, remarking that he fancied a steak.
"Need the energy for tonight, do you?"
“You need the energy for tonight, do you?” Dani says, “You hear lots behind this bar – Brenda told me all about it, and thinks that it’s sweet and romantic.”
"She might as well have plastered it all over Facebook!"
He grumbles that Tesni might as well have plastered it all over Facebook, and asks for a pint of lager.
The inmates are about to be admitted to the visiting room . . .
In the prison, the inmates, all wearing their characteristic tabards, are allowed into the visiting room;
. . . with an apprehensive Colin among them
Colin, looking very apprehensive, is directed to a table.
He sits and waits . . .
Then they are ready for the visitors to be admitted,
. . . for the arrival of Britt
and he awaits Britt’s arrival.
"Can I have that comic back – so I can sell it on eBay?"
In the café, Ricky asks Guto for the return of the comic he lent him a few weeks ago;  ¸I want to try and sell it on eBay – it’s a collector’s item.
Guto is impressed by Ricky's idea
“Apparently it’s worth about £12, perhaps more.
Luned is looking forward to her date
At a table, Tesni is discussing Rhys with her friend, Luned, and showing her photos;
"I said he was lush!"
“I said he was lush!” Tesni points out, and Luned wonders what she is going to wear.   She is definitely looking forward to this evening,
"Anyone's better that that trainee jockey!"
and Tesni comments, “Anyone’s better than that trainee jockey you had!”
Colin is full of anticipation
Colin looks up expectantly at the visitors,
Britt comes in . . .
and at the end of the queue he sees Britt;
. . . and he is relieved . . .
a look of relief crosses his face.
. . . until she suddenly rushes out again
However, she hesitates at the door, looks around in a confused state and rushes back out of the door.   Colin is very disturbed by this and tries to follow her,
"Britt, come back, please!"
but is of course restrained as he shouts, “Britt, come back – please!”
Scratchcards – a new venture for the shop
In the shop, Brenda buys a scratchcard, from the display which must be a new arrival in the shop, from Llinos, and when she has not won anything, describes it as, “Blinkin’ rubbish!   Jac always wins something – her mother gave her a lucky charm on her wedding day!”
"The only thing I've won is a 2,000 piece jigsaw!"
Jason has come into the shop, and is witnessing this, as Brenda continues moaning, “The only thing I’ve won is a 2,000 piece jigsaw in a raffle – it was all sea and sky, so it was all blue!”
"Come on – you might be lucky!"
She encourages Jason, maintaining that he might be lucky, and, as expected, he soon succumbs to the temptation,
Jason goes for £35-worth of the scratchcards
and asks Llinos, “Can I have seven number ones, please, those on top.”
"That's £35, please"
He parts with the £35 given to him by Eifion,
He is immediately seized with guilt . . .
takes the cards and the bottle of semi-skimmed milk,
. . . and looks grimly at . . .
although he looks very guilty
. . . those scratchcards
as he walks along the road.
"Still not answering her phone?"
In the Deri, Garry is unable to contact Britt, simply reaching her answerphone;  Dani suggests that she may be doing some food shopping before coming home, but he points out that he has sent her two texts.   “Perhaps Aaron has heard something,” he says,
"No – Aaron is worried enough as it is"
but Dani warns that Aaron is worried enough as it is.
“She’s probably at home and doesn’t want to talk to anybody,” she advises, but Garry wants to check that she is safe, and puts on his jacket.
"Oh – Colin!"
As soon as he has gone, the phone rings, and Dani finds that it is Colin, who asks if she has seen Britt.
"She walked in, looked at me and walked out again!"
He explains that they did not meet;  “I saw her from afar – she walked in, looked at me and walked out again!
"She didn't say a word"
“She didn’t say a word – and I was looking forward so much to hearing about everyone.
"Sorry, I have to go now"
“Sorry, I have to go.”
Dani finds this very concerning
Dani is extremely concerned.
Ifan studies his first word book
Sara is reading ‘My First Word Book’ to Ifan when Jason returns home,
Jason looks very solemn
looking very troubled;  “Just take these away from me!” he pleads, handing over the unused scratchcards.
"Where did you get the money, Jason?"
She demands where he got the money
"Eifion put a bet on Saturday's game"
and he explains, “Eifion put a bet on Saturday’s game without asking me!”
She protests that he has been doing so well,
"Yes, I know I'm an idiot!"
and he is quite willing to acknowledge that he is an idiot;
The cards are all torn up and binned
she tears the cards into pieces and throws them in the bin.   “I suppose it’s a blessing that you didn’t use them,” she says, and he replies that is why he gave them to her.
Ffion has been running again
Ffion has been on another run, which ends by the chip shop,
Gaynor says she enjoyed it
and Gaynor catches up with her, boasting that she feels good.
"Have you seen Britt?"
Garry comes out of the chip shop flat and asks if they have seen Britt;  “She hasn’t got back from visiting Colin yet.”
"Perhaps she's gone somewhere with Chester"
Gaynor suggests that perhaps she has gone somewhere with Chester, but he answers, “Chester has been back in Portugal since last night,” which comes as rather a surprise to her.
Dani wants him back at the Deri
Garry’s phone rings, and he has to hurry back to the Deri.
"She said Chester was back permanently"
“Britt gave the impression that Chester was back permanently,” says Gaynor, puzzled, and Ffion points out that she is under enormous stress.
Ffion is off home for a shower
She is now going home for shower and to get changed;  she will see Gaynor in the Deri later.
"She just ran out of the visiting room!"
Garry cannot believe that Britt just ran out of the visiting room;  “He had no idea why, unless something had upset her,” Dani tells him.    Then Seren can be heard crying on the baby monitor, and Garry will go up to her.
Rhys is there, ready for his date . . .
When Rhys comes in, Dani asks him, “What’s top of your list of things to say when you get stuck on a date?”   He does not appreciate the remark,
. . . who arrives right on time
and at that moment his date arrives.
Luned will have vodka, lime and soda
She orders a vodka, lime and soda, which Rhys will bring over to her;
Dani laughs at Rhys
Dani laughs at him.
Brenda plans another deception . . .
Brenda leaves dirty plates on the table in number 10, to make it look as if they had a meal there,
. . . which Tesni thinks will not work . . .
but Tesni thinks that her mother will suspect;
. . . and which causes Ricky some mystification
Ricky looks rather puzzled by the whole charade.   Guto is by this time starving, and wants to go for his meal,
"Yeah, OK, I'll come"
and Ricky agrees to accompany them,
"If you're coming, you'll have to pay!"
but is reminded by Brenda, “If you’re coming with us, you’ll have to pay!”
"You're all weird – but in a nice way!"
He remarks, “You know that you’re all weird, don’t you?   But in a nice way!”
Rhys talks about college days
Rhys is chatting up Luned, about his college days, which left him with a huge overdraft.   She, on the other hand, did not want to go to college;
"I wanted to earn money – then I could afford to go out!"
“I wanted to earn money – I could afford to go out then!”
Here come the Parrys
Brenda and the others come in, and she asks for a menu;
"Well, how's it going?"
Rhys has gone to the gents, so Tesni asks for a progress report.   Luned informs her,
"He's really nice – funny, too"
“He’s really nice – funny, too – really good sense of humour.   We’re going on to Cwm Delhi.”
"You must be happier, now Britt's back"
Ffion and Gaynor also arrive, and Gaynor remarks to Garry that he must be happier now that Britt is back in the chip shop, a fact of which he was unaware.
Ffion and Rhys look at each other
Then Ffion sees Rhys, but he has to go back to his date.
Guto is still ravenously hungry
Dani goes to take the orders from Brenda and her party, and it appears now that she will pay for the food, and Ricky for the drinks;  he is becoming wise to her,
"I'm not paying for drinks all night!"
and points out that he will not pay for the drinks all night.
"Remember Luned Hughes in school?"
At the bar, Gaynor says, “Do you remember Luned Hughes in school?   Since when have she and Rhys been an item?   They suit each other, don’t they?”
"Hi, Mrs Llywelyn!"
As she leaves with Rhys, Luned greets Mrs Llywelyn – it is not clear which one.
Oh dear – Ffion appears to be fixated
Gaynor turns to consult the menu, but Ffion is still looking fixedly in the direction of Rhys.
Britt is back in the chippy . . .
In the chippy, Britt has just served a customer
. . . and is visited by her brother
when Garry arrives, and joins her behind the counter;  “How long have you been back?” he asks, “How was Colin?”
"Colin sends his regards"
“He was good, and sends his regards – he’s like a hero in there,” she replies,
"You ran out without talking to Colin!"
but Garry tells her to stop lying, as he knows she ran out without even talking to Colin.
“Don’t try and deny it, because I know!   Why?” he demands.
"I couldn't face him"
At first she says nothing, but then admits that she could not face him.   “Imagine how he felt – not everything revolves around you!” snarls Garry.
"Don't you preach at me!"
She urges him to stop preaching at her;  “Who are you to come in here, acting as if you’re perfect?   You have no idea how much I love Colin!”
"I wonder if you do!"
Garry wonders if she does.
"You're right – I'm rubbish!"
Then her attitude changes;  “You’re right – I’m rubbish!” she says;  he urges her to go home and he will cover for her, locking up and everything.
She cannot get out of the chippy fast enough
She immediately does so, wishing him good night.
