Ed is still expecting the worst
Ed is looking thoughtfully in the mirror
"Well, how do I look?"
as Iolo asks, “Well, how do I look?”   He brings Ed a sandwich, commenting, “You don’t want your stomach rumbling during the ceremony!”
"I'm not hungry"
but Ed is not hungry.
"Not nervous, are you?"
Iolo cannot believe that he is nervous,
"I don't know if I'm doing the right thing"
and Ed begins, “I don’t know if I’m doing the right thing.”
Anita prepares for the big occasion . . .
Anita applies her lipstick,
. . . and Kelly appears in the dress
and Kelly walks in, wearing the dress;  “You look beautiful,” Anita declares,
"Stop it, or I'll start crying!"
and Kelly tells her to stop it or she will start crying, and she does not want mascara everywhere.
Then they have a surprise . . .
Then they hear someone coming upstairs and shouting, “Yoo-hoo – is anybody here getting married today?   Surprise!”
. . . Amanda, Kelly's mother
It is Amanda, Kelly’s mother, who was supposed to be in Tenerife.   “With my daughter getting married today?” she says, “No chance!” while Kelly and Anita do not look particularly pleased to see her.
Kelly does not seem happy
“I wasn’t going to miss the most important day of your life, was I?” Amanda goes on, “Come and give your Mam a cwtch!”   Kelly does not look happy about this.
"It's only natural, Ed"
“Everyone gets nervous on their wedding day – it’s only natural,” Iolo points out,
"Kelly would be better off without me!"
but Ed considers that he does not deserve her, and cannot help feeling that Kelly would be better off without him.   Iolo wonders how he works this out, and upstairs, Greta can be heard crying.
“You love Kel, don’t you?” Iolo demands.
"I love her more than anything!"
Ed replies, “More than anything!” and it is simply put down to nerves;
"Keep an eye on Greta for me"
Tyler comes downstairs, complaining about Greta’s teething, and asks if Iolo will look after her while he has a shower.
"It's not as if you're not going to turn up, is it?"
“Look, once you’re inside Bethania, you’ll be fine – it’s not as if you’re not going to turn up, is it?” says Iolo, “You wouldn’t do that to Kel!”
"Wear your buttonhole and smile"
Ed shakes his head, and is instructed to wear his buttonhole and smile.
Kelly begins to choke . . .
In the cafe flat, they have a drink which makes Kelly cough;
.. . and Anita blames Amanda
“That’s typical – you’ve only been here two minutes, and it’s bedlam!” moans Anita,
"Kelly looks gorgeous!"
but Amanda says that Kelly looks gorgeous.
Rather unadvisedly, Anita reveals that it is a second-hand dress;  “The one that she bought didn’t turn up – there were panics here!
"It's Sheryl's old dress!"
“We had to find one overnight, almost.   Do you know what?   It’s Sheryl’s old one – and we altered it a bit!”
"She's not supposed to wear a murder victim's dress!"
Amanda is outraged by this;  “She’s not supposed to wear a murder victim’s dress! It’s bad luck, I’m telling you!”
"Keep quiet about it!"
Anita swears her to secrecy, because Kelly does not know.
Siôn and the minister arrive in the chapel
In the chapel, the guests have gathered, and Siôn walks in, accompanied by the minister;  Debbie comments that the men will look stunning, thanks to her.
"Mark, where's the present?"
As Jason passes a card to Sara, Debbie mutters, “Mark, where’s the present?”
"I thought you were arranging it!"
and they both thought the other was arranging it.   “We don’t have anything to give them!” she frets, and Mark says they cannot go to the reception empty-handed.
Ed comes into the chapel . . .
Then Ed arrives, with Debbie remarking that his skin is glowing;
. . . and finds these cards on the pews
Ed notices a card on a pew, reading, “Remember Dewi,”
"What are they doing here?"
and asks Iolo why they are there, but he has no idea,
"It might be Dad"
and can only suggest it was his father, who is fond of their patron saint.
"What do you know about these?"
Ed confronts Siôn;  “Did you distribute these?   What do you know about them?”
"Nothing!"
Siôn likewise has no knowledge of them,
Ed looks suspiciously around him
and Ed looks anxiously around the congregation.
The bride is on her way to the chapel
Kelly emerges from the door of the café, followed by her mother and aunt;  they see Tyler, coming out of number 7,
"She has to know about that dress!"
and while Kelly talks to him, Amanda is insisting that Kelly has to know about the dress.   Anita is equally adamant that she must not say a word.
Greta has upset the plans
Tyler reports that Greta has been crying all night, and is being taken to Elinor’s;
"Everyone getting married needs some luck!"
the bride and her entourage set off for the short walk to Bethania, as Amanda maintains that everyone who gets married needs some luck.
"It's Sheryl's dress!"
She cannot resist revealing to Kelly, “It’s Sheryl’s dress – go on – tell her!   I don’t think you should get married in it – it will bring bad luck!”
"It came from Maenan, didn't it?"
Kelly points out that the dress came from the Maenan Appeal,
"I didn't want to upset you, Kelly"
but Anita admits that she told a white lie, because she did not want to upset Kelly, something which Amanda describes as, “Stupid!”
They go at each other, hammer and tongs
As the two of them squabble loudly in the street, Kelly shouts, “All right, stop!
"No arguments – not today!"
“No arguments – not today!
"I don't care if it was Sheryl's dress"
“I don’t care if it’s Sheryl’s dress – she was a mate – it’s a nice way of having her in the wedding.”
Her mother is still determined that she should not get married, wearing the dress of someone who was killed, because it will jinx the wedding.
"Come on, shift, before Ed changes his mind!"
Kelly makes it quite clear,  “Nothing will jinx the wedding, OK, because today is going to be perfect – so chill – and shift, before Ed changes his mind!”
Inside the chapel, Ed is still trying to find out who distributed the cards,
"They only refer to our patron saint"
but Siôn wonders why it matters;  “They only refer to our patron saint.”   Iolo reminds him about Dewi, and Siôn tells Ed that he is being paranoid;
"Who would do this deliberately?"
“Why would anyone do this deliberately on your wedding day?”
"Someone must have left them behind from St David's Day"
Iolo suggests that someone left them behind after the St David’s Day service.
Amanda gives them the nod . . .
Ed looks over his shoulder and sees Kelly’s mother coming in;
. . . and they stand . . .
the three in the front row stand, and the minister takes up his position.   As the congregation also rise to their feet,
. . . as Kelly processes past Gwen . . .
Kelly enters with her matron of honour;
. . . and Ed watches her
Ed looks round and they smile at each other.
They smile at each other
She joins him at the front of the chapel.
The finishing touches are put to the decorations
In the Deri, Dan is assisting with the decorations when an unknown man enters,
"I'm looking for Ed Charles"
looking for Ed Charles;  Dani informs him that Ed is getting married at the moment, but will be there later.
"It is a secret!"
He hands over an envelope for Ed, saying that it is a secret,
"Ooh – what's that, then?"
which Dani finds puzzling.
The minister begins the service
The service is under way;  “We don’t take this step lightly or selfishly, but responsibly and humbly,” the minister says, “Marriage is the foundation of family life and one of society’s most important cornerstones.
They listen to his words . . .
“Edward Charles and
. . . and there are a couple of sniggers about 'Charlene'
“Kelly Charlene Evans are ready to take this important step now, to begin their new life in a commitment to each other, with a dedication and prayer.”
Now comes the nerve-racking part
Then he reaches the part which Ed has been dreading;  “If anyone can show just cause why this couple cannot lawfully be joined together in matrimony, let them speak now.”   Ed looks anxiously behind him, and is relieved that nothing happens.
"Now I think we can carry on"
The minister continues, “Now that we’ve established that, I think we can carry on.”   Kelly smiles broadly, and even Ed tries to look less serious.
"I call upon these persons here present . . ."
Ed declares, “I call upon these persons here present to witness that I, Edward Charles, do take thee to be my lawful wedded wife.”
"I, Kelly Charlene Evans . . ."
Then Kelly Charlene Evans repeats the same words, trying to hold back the tears.
"Until death us do part"
She continues, “For richer and poorer, in sickness and in health, from this day forward until death us do part.”
One of the rings . . .
The rings are exchanged,
. . . poses some difficulty
with there being some difficulty getting one of them on to Ed’s finger,
"I pronounce you husband and wife!"
and the minister pronounces that they are husband and wife.
This appears to excite Iolo
There is a round of enthusiastic applause from the congregation.
"If everything's gone all right"
They are expected in the Deri at any moment;  “If everything’s gone all right!” cautions Tyler.   The first guests in through the door are Geraint and Gwen,
They are all complimentary about the service
and everyone agrees that the ceremony went fabulously.   Amanda comments that the Deri has changed since she was last there.
"It's nice to find something to celebrate"
Siôn remarks to Sara and Jason that it is nice to have something to celebrate for a change;  Sara asks, “Are the police any nearer to finding out who set fire to Morawel?” and he replies that they have heard nothing.
"The insurance company has agreen to pay out"
Anita adds that the insurance company has agreed to pay out, but they do not know when they will get the money.
The newly-weds arrive at the reception
Then the happy couple arrive, amid congratulations;  Dani serves drinks to Mr and Mrs Charles.
The Joneses intend to repurpose their toaster
At Maes-y-Deri, Mark is holding the toaster upside down and shaking it violently;  “I can’t believe we’ve got to do this again!” he moans, but Debbie instructs him to make sure he removes all the crumbs this time.   “Won’t they think it’s odd that we’re giving them a toaster?” he queries, but she maintains that it is like new.
"Hurry up – I'm dying of thirst!"
They put it in a gift bag, as Debbie says that she is dying of thirst.
At the reception, everyone is taking advantage of the food which has been laid on;
"Warm asparagus spears and mozzerella?"
“Warm asparagus spears and mozzarella?” remarks Ricky, and Dani explains that is what they had at Harry’s and Meghan’s wedding.
"It leaves more room for the wine!"
Amanda says that what she likes about this type of food is that it is not heavy, and leaves plenty of room for the wine.   “Wow, she can drink!” Dani tells Ricky.
"Looks as if Ed has forgotten about that Dewi business"
Iolo gives his father another drink;  “Looks as if Ed has forgotten about that Dewi business – that was odd.”   Iolo reports that he had a bit of a wobble this morning – worried that he was not good enough for Kelly.   He is sure that Ed has something on his mind.
"I couldn't believe how handsome you looked!"
Kelly tells Ed, “When I walked in, I couldn’t believe how handsome you looked!”
"You're not bad yourself – Charlene!"
He replies, “You’re not too bad yourself – Charlene!”
"I'm going to say a few words now"
She is going to say a few words now, to get it out of the way.
She calls for attention from the assembled multitude;
"This time the missus is having a go"
“Usually at a wedding, the mister does the speech, but this time the missus is having a go, right, because the mister is too shy.   All I want to say, really, is it thank you all for coming – you all mean something to me and my husband –
"My new husband!"
“my new husband.   Ed and I were eager to spend our big day with family and close friends.   It has been lush so far, but I have some special thank yous to make.
She thanks Anita and Siôn and Iolo . . .
“Auntie Anita and Siôn, thank you for helping us organise everything, Iolo, thanks for being the best best man – and an awesome mate.
. . . also Dani and Garry
“Dani and Garry, thanks for the delicious spread – the Deri will be in next year’s Good Food Guide.
"Thanks for being a brilliant bloke!"
“But more than anything, Ed, thanks for agreeing to marry me, thanks for being a brilliant bloke and transforming my life for the better.   He really makes me really, really happy!
"He makes me the happiest woman alive!"
“In fact he makes me the happiest woman alive!”
"I can't wait to have a long and happy life with you!"
Ed’s smile has by this time slipped, as she thanks him for being her rock;  “And I can’t wait to have a long and happy life with you!”
Amanda tells him he is not supposed to cry at his wedding;
"If anything was meant to go wrong, it would have done by now"
“If anything was meant to go wrong, it would’ve gone wrong by now.   So there’s only one thing to do enjoy ourselves;
She gives Ed a kiss
Kelly kisses Ed.
"What is the significance of this taxi?" you may well ask
Outside, we see a taxi arriving in the village, and inside dancing is in progress;
As is customary, Debbie is helping herself
Debbie is helping herself to the favours on the bar, and various guests are leaving their wedding presents on the table.
"We'll go home when we have finished this"
Jason is looking very quiet, and Sara suggests that they will go home after they finish their drinks.
"It would be a good idea to take them upstairs"
Dani asks if she should take all the wedding presents upstairs to keep them safe.   Meanwhile Debbie and Mark give their present to the happy couple,
"Wow – just what we wanted!"
and Kelly says, “Exactly what we wanted.”   Mark informs them that it is top of the range.
Iolo is nearby, and comments, “We got something similar on our wedding day, too.”
"Did you get the crumbs out of it this time?"
Tyler wonders whether they got the crumbs out of it this time.
Mark and Debbie make a rapid retreat,
"Told you, didn't I?"
as Mark snarls, “Told you, didn’t I?”   Then Dani wants a word with Ed, and Iolo sits down by Kelly.
There are a pile of letters and cards
Upstairs, Anita has collected together a whole pile of cards and letters, and remarks that people have been so generous;
"Thank you, Dani – it all went like clockwork"
she thanks Dani for today, which has all gone like clockwork.
Dani hands him the envelope
“Right, Ed, I wanted to give you this,” Dani says, and hands over the envelope.
He opens it,
"Garry has organised the car for our honeymoon!"
and tells her, “Garry organised a car for Kelly and me to take on our honeymoon.   He’s taken the cases to the garage – fair play to him.”   He confirms that it is the vintage car which Kelly had set her heart upon,
"Kelly will be over the moon!"
and Anita is sure that she will be over the moon, but he must not mention anything to Kelly.
Ed opens the garage . . .
He hurries across to the garage and raises the roller shutter door;
. . . and finds the vintage Jaguar . . .
he smiles when he sees the vintage Jaguar, and admires its sleek lines.
. . . puts their case in the boot . . .
Then he opens the boot and and puts the case inside;
. . . but then sees a reflection . . .
as he slams the lid, he sees, reflected in the shiny paintwork, a familiar figure standing behind him.
. . . which causes him some anguish
He turns, in horror,
"Hello, Ed!"
and is greeted by Angela.
