The preparations for the grand unveiling |
Ffion's arms are aching |
"Is Gwyneth going to turn up today?" |
By the looks of her . . . |
. . . it seems unlikely |
"It suits you, Col!" |
Colin has been given a good reception |
"I was worried when I got your message" |
"You should be worrying about Britt!" |
"Don't start that nonsense again" |
"There's more to it than that" |
Britt arrives with her quiche |
A taxi arrives . . . |
. . . and they greet Lisa Gwilym |
DJ will go and find Gwyneth |
The curtain is still proving unco-operative |
"Gwyneth, I know you're in there!" |
"Lisa Gwilym's arrived" |
"I'm not coming!" |
"How about Gwern?" |
"He'll be glad you're there – just like me" |
Britt embarks on a long diatribe . . . |
. . . until Lisa is rescued by Ffion |
Gwen is joining the festivities |
"Related to Prince Charles' sister?" |
"But Iol is less happy" |
"You mean Siôn is related to him, too" |
Gwern is presented to Lisa |
DJ has something to give to Lisa |
"She was not aware of what she was doing" |
"We both know she can be impulsive" |
"But there's no happy medium, is there?" |
“You know what happened the last time I mentioned the doctor to her – I don’t want to risk upsetting her!” Garry replies, “Not with you in here.”
Colin asks him at least to try and persuade her to answer his calls. “On condition that you don’t talk to her about a doctor,” Garry stipulates.
Colin says he just wants to hear her voice, and Garry leaves.
"On condition you don't talk to her about a doctor" |
"I just want to hear her voice!" |
"Where's Garry, then?" |
"I'm not here to support Gwyneth Jones!" |
"Colin should get a medal!" |
"That's what she's like – erratic!" |
But then Gwyneth does arrive . . . |
. . . and thanks the assembled multitude |
"I just hope we never need to use it" |
"Behave yourself!" |
"It's a pleasure to be here today" |
She speaks in glowing terms about Gwyneth |
The machine is unveiled . . . |
The curtain is slowly pulled aside, and Cwmderi’s defibrillator is unveiled,
to a round of applause. As Gwyneth invites Lisa to speak to a local reporter, Lisa’s piece of paper, from which she was reading, falls to the ground,
and Gwyneth retrieves it.
She recognises the writing on the paper and smiles.
. . . to a round of applause |
Gwyneth picks up something Lisa dropped . . . |
. . . and recognises the handwriting |
"You're proud of your Mam, aren't you?" |
"The first drink in the Deri is free!" |
Ffion feigns reluctance . . . |
. . . but someone else fancies Rhys |
"Have you seen Britt?" |
Garry unlocks the door |
Rather uninspiring wall decoration . . . |
. . . but Britt seems to like it |
"Colin would be better if you answered his calls" |
Britt continues to look detached from reality . . . |
. . . and smiles naïvely at Garry |
A photograph is taken |
"Keep watching FFIT Cymru!" |
"You might as well go – the show's over!" |
"I want to show this to Dad!" |
"That's good, Gwern!" |
"Good riddance to bad rubbish!" |
Tyler asks Rhys, “How’s the new girlfriend, then?” but he replies they have only been on one date;
Ffion says that they appeared to be getting on very well, and are perfect for each other,
Then Rhys has a phone call, and Ffion comments that Luned’s ears must have been burning.
"I think you're perfect for each other" |
"Her ears must have been burning!" |
"Britt was a bit weird earlier" |
Colin is about to make a phone call . . . |
. . . which Britt initially ignores |
"I'm so glad you answered the phone" |
"I'm sorry I let you down, Col" |
"I just want to make sure you're OK" |
"You're too good for me – I don't deserve you!" |
"I'm not sure when I'll be strong enough" |
"Just promise you won't ignore my calls" |
"I hope you didn't leave because of Dad" |
"This is one of the nicest things anyone's ever done" |
"You weren't supposed to see that!" |
"Whoa, now, Gwyneth!" |
He is in somewhat of a hurry to go |
Gwyneth's euphoria has evaporated |
The buzzer at Cysgod y Glyn sounds, and as might have been expected, it is Rhys; after a brief pause, Ffion lets him in.
“As you were in such a rush, I didn’t finish what I wanted to say,” he tells her, “You’re right – perhaps Luned is perfect for me –
“but she’s not the one I want!”
Ffion reminds him that they have been through this, but he insists that no-one has to find out.
"Perhaps Luned is perfect for me . . ." |
". . . but she's not the one I want!" |
"We've been through this, Rhys" |
"Stop thinking about other people – do what you want" |
