Aaron is listening to music . . .
In the chip shop flat, Aaron is listening to music on his headphones
. . . and the phone call goes unnoticed
and does not notice his phone sounding with an incoming call from Lewis.
"You have to save things as you go!"
In the Deri flat, Hywel has just sorted out Garry’s laptop again;  “You have to save things as you go – as I told you last time!   It’s simple!”   Garry asks him which side of the bed he got out of this morning,
"Griffiths wants to arrange a meeting"
and he replies that Griffiths has been phoning him, wanting to arrange a meeting.
"Would you prefer it to be Ffion?"
“Would you prefer it if someone else was phoning?   Like Ffion, for instance?” Garry wonders,
"She is prettier than Griffiths"
and Hywel admits that she is prettier than Griffiths.   They did have dinner together – as friends – and now Garry understands the situation.
“You know, just being in her company feels right,” Hywel muses,
"Garry, we need to do an order"
but then Dani comes upstairs to remind Garry that they need to do an order;  she was unaware that Hywel was there.
"Garry's not exactly tech-savvy, are you?"
She agrees with him that Garry is not exactly tech-savvy, and then goes back down.
"But you were with Ffion and Nesta at the same time"
“I’m sure it felt right with Ffion the first time, but from what I remember, you were with Nesta at same time!” Garry comments.
"But we're different people now, Garry"
Hywel maintains that they are different people now, and has to go, as he is meeting Julie in Cross Hands;  Esther is having a sleepover there.
"Save yourself some money!"
He charges Garry £30, again, for his work, and warns, “Save things as you go, and save yourself some money!”   Garry advises him to talk to Ffion and tell her how he feels.
"Where is everyone?"
Tesni, in her pyjamas, comes downstairs and asks Guto where everyone is;
"Mam and Dad are at work"
“Mam and Dad are at work, and Gran is probably chatting to Kath,” is his reply.
She does not want to talk to Mathew
Her phone sounds, and he can see that it is Mathew calling;  she does not want to answer it.
"You haven't finished with him, have you?"
Guto wonders if Tesni has finished with him, and she answers, “No – but it’s only a matter of time.
"He's started to notice that something's wrong with me"
“He’s started to notice that there’s something wrong with me.”   Guto realises she means the colitis.   “Last night, in the flat – it was so embarrassing – I had to use the toilet every two minutes – he pointed it out.”
"He will have finished with me by the time I'm better"
Guto reassures her this is only a flare-up, she knows that from experience, but she predicts, “He will have finished with me by the time I’m better.”
"You may feel better after a shower"
He tries to persuade her to go and have a shower, and then she may feel better and want to see him,
She does not think it will make any difference
but she is not optimistic.
"Some Easter eggs for you"
Garry visits the chip shop flat with some Easter eggs, one for Aaron, and one for his mother;
"Where's your Mam, then?"
“Where is she?” Garry asks, and Aaron concocts some story about her waking up and feeling great, so she went out shopping.
"But she forgot to take her phone"
He adds that she forgot to take her phone.
"You're coming over to the Deri for lunch"
Garry decides that Aaron is coming to the Deri for lunch with him and Dani, but he is initially reluctant to do so, citing a bad stomach;  “Come over in an hour – you’ll feel better by then,” Garry tells him,
"Don't open this until your Mam comes home"
and then gives him another present, but tells him not to open it until his mother returns.
Hywel is deep in thought . . .
Hywel arrives home, picks up the kettle, then thinks for a moment and puts it back down again;
. . . and deliberates about making a call
he deliberates about making a phone call.
Several schoolboys are in the café, and when Lewis sees Garry passing, taps on the window;
"Where's Aaron?   He's missed two games already"
he asks Garry, “Where’s Aaron?   We’ve been phoning him, but there’s no answer.   We’ve got a game today, and we need him to play – he’s missed two games.”
"I'll tell him when he comes over for lunch"
Garry replies that he is coming for lunch in the Deri, and he will tell him..
"How's Miss enjoying Easter?"
Then Garry sees Ffion there, and asks, “How’s Miss enjoying Easter?   Any special plans?” and she replies in the negative.
Ffion did not order coffee
She finds that Ricky has brought her coffee, when she ordered tea;  in her absence at the counter, her phone sounds,
Garry snoops at her phone . . .
and Garry notices a message from Hywel, enquiring if she is free tonight.
. . . then gives it to her
He passes the phone to her.
Lewis wonders if the message is from her boyfriend,
"None of your business, Lewis!"
and she replies that it is none of his business.
Rhys wants to change her 'session'
As she is about to reply to the message, Rhys comes in, wanting to change the session she has booked;  she considers it wise to talk outside, so they can have some peace.
"Is it him, Miss?"
Lewis excitedly asks, “Is it him, Miss?” and they all make gasping noises.
"It will be halfway round the village"
Ffion tells Rhys to be quick, or they will have told half the village;
"I want to see you tonight!"
unsurprisingly he says, “I want to see you – tonight!   I’m looking forward to seeing you in the present,” which causes her some puzzlement.   “I’ve bought you a present – I left it under the bed when I was over the last time.”
"You're full of surprises!"
She remarks that he is full of surprises, and sly, too;  “I’ll text you once Arwen’s settled,” she says,
She is on the receiving end of the pupils' catcalls
and goes back into the café where all the boys have been watching, and greet her with cheers.
Aaron puts on his football shirt . . .
Aaron has opened his present, which is a football shirt with the name ‘MONK’ emblazoned on the back;
. . . and cheers himself for scoring a goal
he imagines himself scoring a goal.
Tesni is disconsolate . . .
Tesni is sitting disconsolately at the bottom of stairs,
. . . and even a hot water bottle makes no difference
and Guto brings her a hot water bottle;  she says that it is worse, if anything, and she has already taken her tablets.
"You can't ignore Mathew for ever"
“Tes, talk to Mathew, will you?   You can’t ignore him for ever,” insists Guto, but she tells him not to start that again.   “Give him a chance to understand,” he pleads.
"I thought I had time to enjoy being normal"
She lies down on the sofa, and complains, “I thought I had more time – that’s why I was so glad we moved here to live.   I could start again, make new friends, enjoy being normal, before they noticed there was something wrong with me.   But it’s started, hasn’t it?”
"You're overreacting, Tes"
Guto tries to comfort her, maintaining that she is overreacting,
"You're not the one who has to live with it!"
but she continues, “You’re not the one who has to live with it!”
Aaron's appetite has improved
At lunch in the Deri, Dani remarks that Aaron’s stomach must be better now, and Garry says that he saw Lewis in the café earlier;  “He was asking if you’re going to play football this afternoon, and said you’d missed a couple of games.   You’re the star, aren’t you?”
"I wanted to give the other boys a chance"
Aaron’s excuse is that he wanted to give the other boys a chance to play, as it is only fair.   He confirms that he will be playing today,
"I could come and watch – with Seren"
so Dani suggests she could come and watch, and bring Seren with her.   Aaron does not think that would be very cool, and will go home now, thanking them for the lunch.
"I'm sorry, but I'm not free tonight"
Hywel is at the bar when Ffion comes in;  “I was hoping you’d be here, she says, “I got your text, but sorry, but I’m not free tonight – can we reschedule another night?”
"Does it fit?"
On her way to the door, Rhys asks if the present fits,
"I haven't been home yet!"
but she tells him, “I haven’t been home yet!”
"I told you it was worth phoning her"
“I told you it was worth phoning her her, didn’t I?” says Garry,
Hywel anticipates a successful outcome
and Hywel appears to be feeling very optimistic;  he orders another pint.
Tesni sleeps on the sofa
Tesni is asleep on the sofa, covered with a blanket when Guto comes home;  he is told that all the others are at a Whist Drive at the Bull.
"You did well to hide it from Mam and Dad"
He says that she did well to hide her problem from Mam and Dad at dinner time.   “This is stupid, Tes!” he points out, then her phone sounds again,
"Mathew is bound to be worried about you"
and he tells her to answer it, as Mathew is bound to be worried about her, but again she refuses.
Guto goes on, “You like Mathew, don’t you?   And he likes you – if he does, he should accept you as you are.”
"This is my girlfriend – who wears a colostomy bag!"
Tesni can imagine what he would say;  “Hiya, this is my girlfriend, Tesni – she wears a colostomy bag.   A real babe!”
"You don't know it would come to that"
He stresses that she does not know it would come to that, but she is convinced that it is only a matter of time.
“Just tell him – he’s not stupid – give him a chance!” Guto demands, but she is adamant that it will not happen, so he threatens to tell their parents.
"What if you need to see a doctor?"
“What happens if you need to see a doctor?” he says.
“I know you’re worried about me – and I love you for that – but if you care for me, you’ll keep quiet about this,” she begs him.   He wonders what will happen if it gets worse;
"If I feel worse, I'll tell you"
“If anything changes and I feel worse, I’ll tell you,” she insist, and he concedes.
The alluringly-clad Ffion . . .
Ffion, clad in her new red negligee, and looking radiant,
. . . hurriedly – and somewhat carelessly – sends a text
hurriedly composes a text and sends it.
"It's quiet without Esther"
Hywel and Rhys are watching the television, and remarking on how quiet it is without Esther;
Rhys is expecting a message any second . . .
Rhys is expecting to be contacted imminently, and keeps looking at his phone,
. . . but then his father receives one . . .
but it is Hywel’s phone which suddenly sounds.
. . . and thinks all his Christmases have come at once!
He looks at the concise message, “Come over, Mr Llywelyn  x,” and Rhys assumes that it is Griffiths again.
"I'd better go and talk to him now"
Hywel confirms this and maintains that he has to go to the Deri to sort it out now.
"I'll come to the Deri with you"
Rhys says that it looks as if his plans have also changed, so he will accompany his father.
“You don’t want to listen to me and a councillor,” Hywel points out,
"He'll be more honest with me if we're alone"
“Griffiths is more likely to be honest with me if we’re alone.”   Rhys swallows this excuse, and goes back to anxiously looking at his phone, while Hywel appears exceedingly confident.
Garry cannot contact either Aaron or his mother
Garry attempts to make a phone call, but ends up leaving a message for Aaron;  “Great – neither you nor your mother are answering.   I’m phoning to see how the footy went this afternoon – I hope you scored a hat-trick!”
Ffion is all geared up for a night of passion . . .
When Ffion hears the buzzer, she tells the visitor to come up;  the room is only illuminated by candles, and when the door opens,
. . . but this voice is not the one she was expecting
she is horrified to hear Hywel’s voice ask, “Is there any chance of having some lights on – I can’t see anything!”
A very convenient migraine is developing
She pulls her dressing gown tightly around her, and comes up with the excuse that she can feel a migraine coming on;  “But you texted me!” he protests,
"Only something from the doctor will work"
and she further improvises that she wanted him to fetch something for the pain, but then realised that only something from the doctor will work.
He turns on the light, but then she insists he turn it off again;  he only wants to make sure she is all right.
"Peace and quiet, and lying in a dark room"
“A bit of peace and quiet, and lying in a dark room would be best,” she informs him,
"Yes, I shall be all right, Hywel"
“This was a stupid idea, but thank you for coming over to help.”   He is concerned whether she is going to be all right, but she is confident that she will be.
Hywel senses that things are falling into place . . .
“Right, I’d better be off then,” he says, and smiles jubilantly as he leaves.
. . . whereas Ffion is cursing herself
Ffion is absolutely furious with herself.
Footballer Monk shows off his shirt
Aaron comes into the Deri, to show off his football shirt;
"Mam said I should come over to say thank you"
“Mam said I should come over straightaway to say thank you,” he tells Garry and Dani.     Garry regrets that he did not come and watch Aaron play this afternoon, but promises to come next time.
"Aled's really good – I'll play next time"
Aaron admits he did not play in the end, but gave a chance to one of the new boys;  “Aled’s really good – I’ll play next time.”
"Yes, Mam enjoyed herself"
Garry wonders how his mother got on with the shopping, and is told that she enjoyed herself.
Hywel is in a much-improved humour
Hywel comes in, and Garry notices that he is in a very good mood;  both he and Dani are eager to know all the details.
"Things are a lot more promising!"
“Well, she had a migraine – but things are a lot more promising than I thought they were,” says Hywel, confidently.
"Keep your voice down, or you'll wake Arwen"
Meanwhile,  Rhys is at Cysgod y Glyn, and Ffion warns him to keep his voice down, or he will wake Arwen.   He thinks that it is hilarious;  “Genius, coming up with a migraine!”
"I'm not sure he believed me!"
She is, however, not sure whether Hywel believed her.
"Do you like your present?"
“Do you like your present?” Rhys enquires, and she nods, but wonders if he will like it, and kisses him.
Aaron prepares to take Britt her tablets
Aaron prepares his mother’s tablets, and we find that, contrary to his story about going shopping,
The bedroom is a complete mess . . .
Britt has spent all day in bed.
. . . and she stares into space
When he comes into the room she is staring vacantly into space, and has evidently not eaten any of the food he brought for her.
"You have to eat, Mam"
He hands her the tablets and tells her that she has to eat.
"Garry and Dani don't suspect a thing"
She seems to be unaware of what is going on, and he assures her, “It’s OK – Garry and Dani were asking about you – but they don’t suspect a thing – I made sure of that.
"Thank you for looking after me"
She whispers, “Thank you for looking after me,”
"We're going to be all right, Mam"
and he repeats that they will be all right;
Britt has serious problems
however it is quite obvious that she is very far from all right.
