Kelly is afraid that Gwen will overhear
Ed brings a tray of freshly-baked hot cross buns to the counter, and asks Kelly how she is feeling;  “Have you been sick today,” he says, just as Gwen walks past them.
"I'm worried you're ill"
“I’m worried you’re ill – have you eaten anything dodgy?”   She shows no signs of concern, and tells him she is fine.
Then he asks her straight, “You would tell me if you were pregnant, wouldn’t you?   You wouldn’t keep it from me?”
"I'm not pregnant, Ed"
She tries to act innocent, and assures him that she is not pregnant,
Ed has lingering doubts
but he is not entirely convinced.
"One cheese and tomato sandwich, Megan"
Kelly delivers Megan’s cheese and tomato sandwich, and then Anita comes in, looking quizzically at Kelly.
"The Gin Club is launched tonight"
“I take it that you’ve come to line your stomach,” says Megan, “It’s the launch of Cassie’s Gin Club tonight in the Deri – I presume you’re going.”
Anita replies that she does not know anything about it, but she might catch the tail end of the club.
"It's an idea to get mnore people into the Deri"
Hywel has been listening to this conversation from a neighbouring table, and advises Megan not to get worried about it;  “It’s just an idea to get more people into the Deri, and a chance for people to socialise.
"I bet you had a lot of similar ideas"
“I bet when you were in your heyday as landlady there, you had a lot of similar ideas.”
"Why is everyone so obsessed?"
Anita is trying to check on Kelly, but she wonders why everyone is so obsessed.

"I was worried about you while you were away"
Anita has been worried about her while she was away;  “You  said you wanted to sort things out with the baby.
"You haven't done anything rash, have you?"
“You haven’t done anything rash, have you?”
Kelly cannot believe that Anita asked her that.   “You left so quickly – how was I to know what you were going to do?” Anita demands.
"Butt out, OK!"
Kelly points out she wanted time to think, and warns her auntie, “Butt out, OK – you’re not helping – especially when you told Ed I had a secret!”
"Ed has a right to know"
Anita considers that he has a right to know, as he thinks the world of her,
"That's up to me – OK?"
but Kelly is adamant, “That’s up to me – OK?   I hope you’ve got the message loud and clear!”
Ed becomes even more suspicious
Ed is wondering what that little exchange was all about.
"There's a hot chocolate for you"
Britt is cleaning the kitchen table when Aaron returns home;  “There’s a hot chocolate over there, just how you like it,” she tells him,
"Sorry I haven't been firing on all cylinders recently"
“I’m sorry I haven’t been firing on all cylinders recently – the tablets are kicking in, I think, but I just feel so tired.   What kind of day have you.”
"School was OK"
He replies that it was OK.
“Well, I’ve got some better news than just OK,” she continues,
"Dani is cooking us dinner tonight"
“Dani just phoned and asked us to go over there for dinner tonight.
"Aren't you looking forward to it?"
“Aren’t you looking forward to it?”   Aaron is of the opinion that they should not go,
"I've got a sore throat"
giving the excuse that he has a sore throat.
"We won't be there for long"
She assures him, “Listen now, Aaron, there is no need to worry – we won’t be there for long, and going over there for dinner with them was one of the conditions of us coming back here.
He is not looking forward to this
“Enjoy your hot chocolate – perhaps it will do that throat some good.”
"I hope you're not still angry about last week"
As Megan emerges from the cafĂ©, Cassie hopes that she is not still angry about last week;  “I’ve tried to make amends for our misunderstanding.”
"There must be room for Cheese and Wine as well as a Gin Club"
Megan wonders if setting up a weekly Gin Club is also a misunderstanding.   “There must be room in Cwmderi for Cheese and Wine evenings as well as a Gin Club,” suggests Cassie.
"I know exactly what you're trying to do!"
“Listen, you can’t deceive me,” Megan says, “I know exactly what you’re trying to do – you’re charging a weekly rate, keeping in with Garry while making a tidy sum for yourself.”
Cassie agrees that there is an element of truth in that, but insists that the main reason is to have some fun,
"Under the influence of hard liquor"
but Megan makes it quite clear, “I dont call making a fool of myself, under the influence of hard liquor, fun – no, I do not!”
Cassie mentions that she does not charge every member, and there are exceptions;
"You could be Honorary President"
“An Honorary President for example – and you would make a good one, if you accept.   It would boost the cause – Megan Harries, OBE!”   Having left that thought with Megan, she walks away.
"Our five-a-day is in here"
At the Deri flat, Dani has made vegetarian chilli, and Garry boasts that she has filled it with their five-a-day;  “Whoever guesses all the vegetables can have more pudding.
"Sbigoglys!"
Aaron immediately says, “Sbigoglys!” and when Garry suspects that he was swearing, and his mother blames his sore throat, points out, “That’s the Welsh for spinach – we learned it in cookery class.   There is also a bit of squash there, and red pepper.”
"Extra helping of Rhubarb Crumble for you"
Garry says that he has earned an extra helping of rhubarb crumble,
"How are the tablets going, Britt?|
and enquires how Britt’s five-a-day is going, meaning the tablets.
Aaron answers for her
Aaron answers for her, that they are working really well.
"How's your sister, Anita?"
As Eifion delivers vegetables to Tapas, he asks Anita, “How’s your sister?   I heard that she wasn’t well, and Kelly had gone to stay with her.”   Anita replies that she is much better now.
"What did you mean – Kelly has a secret?"
Then Ed comes bounding up the stairs;  “What did you mean when you said Kelly has a secret?” he demands, “Please, Anita, I saw you talking in the cafĂ© earlier.”
"I can't tell you – I promised Kelly"
After a moment’s thought, she replies that she cannot tell him anything, as she promised Kelly.
"The bulimia is back, isn't it?"
“The bulimia is back, isn’t it?” Ed assumes, “She’s vomiting – she’s not pregnant, so . . .”
"It's not my place to say"
Anita informs him that it is not her place to tell him anything;  “There we go then – I’m right!” he concludes, “Thanks.”
Anita is worried
Anita looks worried.
"Garry wants to go to the launch of Cassie's Gin Night"
Dani apologises that they are in a hurry;  “But Garry wants to go to the launch of Cassie’s Gin Night.”   He tells them that Dani is sulking, because it is for over 50s,
"That sounds interesting – and I do feel better"
and Britt thinks that it sounds interesting;  she says that she does feel a bit better.
"I'll keep an eye on you"
Garry will be behind the bar, so he can keep an eye on her.
"I want to go home, Mam"
Dani asks for Aaron’s opinion, and he is in favour of going home, saying that his throat is getting worse.
“Do you want a lie down on the sofa?   Your Mam won’t be long,” Garry says,
"Let's go home and watch a film"
but Aaron is insistent that he wants to go home with his mother, and perhaps watch a film.
"Gin and chilli don't mix, anyway"
Britt agrees, remarking that gin and chilli does not mix, anyway.
Garry is pleased that his sister is doing so well;
"You're already much better than you were last week"
“You’re already much better than you were last week.”
"Come on, Mam, let's go"
She leaves with Aaron.
"It makes no sense that he doesn't know!"
“But it makes no sense that I know you’re pregnant, and he doesn’t!” exclaims Anita, and Kelly is regretting that she ever told her auntie.
"I'll tell him when I'm ready!"
“I am going to tell him – but when I’m ready – not when you tell me to, Auntie Anita!” Kelly screams,
"This has got nothing to do with you!"
“This has got nothing to do with you!”   Anita insists that it is something to do with her, when Ed is worrying that she has got bulimia.
"I hope you're joking!"
“I hope you’re joking – because that is not funny!” Kelly snarls, but Anita stresses that is what Ed thinks is her secret.
Kelly suddenly faints
Anita sits next to her on the sofa, and Kelly suddenly, without warning, collapses on to her.
"The flavoured gins were popular last week"
Cassie points out to Garry that the flavoured gins were very popular last week, but herself prefers a normal gin and tonic with a slice of lemon.
"Dani, for example, has been ignored"
He reminds her that some customers have been ignored;  “Dani, for example.”
Cassie replies that if everyone was let into the club, it would not last so long;
"It's being part of an exclusive club"
“There’s something nice about being part of an exclusive club – and Dani will get over it.”
Who are the two ladies on the left?
Some of the customers are becoming impatient, demanding when the Gin Club is opening, and whether she has someone special to launch it;  “Like when you launch a ship – smashing a bottle of gin, perhaps?” says Kath.
The guest of honour arrives
At that moment, the guest of honour arrives, in the form of Megan.
Cassie welcomes the ladies . . .
Cassie formally welcomes them to the weekly club;  “It is my honour to introduce the Honorary President of ‘Make it a Large One’, to drink the first official gin –
. . . and introduces their president
“Megan Harries OBE.”   The ladies cannot wait to get stuck into the drink.
Kelly is back from A&E
Anita brings Kelly a glass of water after they have returned from A&E;  “It was worth going just make sure – you gave me a fright!” says Anita.   Ed is coming up the stairs,
"I think it's time I left"
so Anita thinks it is time she left, stressing that she was just making sure that Kelly was all right.
"You look pale – what's wrong?"
He notices that she looks pale, and asks what is wrong;
"I had to take her to A&E"
Anita replies, “She fainted, and I had to take her to A&E.”

"It's just a bit of anaemia . . ."
This troubles Ed, but Kelly points out that it is just a bit of anaemia,
". . . and they gave me some tablets"
and she has been given tablets for it.   They thank Anita for her help, and she goes back to Tapas.
"I have a right to know, Kel"
“Right then, what’s going on, Kel?” he demands, “As your husband, I have a right to know.”
"Like I had a right to know about you and Gaynor?"
“Like I had the right to know about you and Gaynor kissing, is it?” answers Kelly, “Ed, these lies, honestly, they’re a dark cloud over everything, like.”
"I know you're bulimic"
He asks if that is what made her sick again, as he knows that she is bulimic.
"I'm not flipping bulimic!"
“I’m not flipping bulimic!” she rages;  he explains that she is vomiting, and is not offering him any other explanation, so he wants to know what it is.   Again she insists that it is not bulimia, but he knows that she is hiding something.
"Perhaps I'm run down or something"
“I don’t know – perhaps I’m run down or something, OK?” she tells him, “Are you surprised, after everything that you’ve put me through?
"This is not how newly married couples are meant to be"
“This is not how newly married couples are supposed to be, Ed.”
The drinkers are enjoying themselves . . .
At the Deri, the ladies at the table covered with bottles of gin, are loudly enjoying themselves, with Hywel and Garry watching from the bar.   Megan downs another one, and appears rather unsteady, even sitting down;
. . . then Megan staggers across to the bar
she has had enough and tries to walk across the pub, holding on to the bar for support.
"I though this was supposed to be a sedate club"
“I thought this was supposed to be a sedate club,” remarks Hywel, “To taste gin and talk about women’s issues.”   Garry says that they are wasting good gin, downing it like that.
Megan, with her speech now rather slurred, informs him, “Garry, nobody likes a party pooper, you know!”
"Before it goes to my head"
She tells Cassie that she is leaving before it goes to her head, thanking her for an evening and a half.
Just then, Anita comes in, and Megan reveals that she changed her mind about the club, pointing out that no one likes a party pooper.
"Because you're in the limelight, is it?"
“You’ve changed your tune, haven’t you, Megan?” Anita comments, “Because you’re in the limelight, is it?”
The latecomer joins the others
The late arrival is welcomed into the club, and when Cassie returns to the bar, Hywel begins to chat her up;
"Why don't you come over to the house?"
“You’ve got a good atmosphere going there – it would be a pity for it to stop.   So why don’t you come over to the house for a coffee after stop tap?”
Cassie replies, “I don’t want a coffee – but I’ll come for a gin!”
"I'm going to bed – in the spare room"
Ed tells Kelly that he is going to bed – in the spare room;
"Please be patient, Ed"
after a moment’s thought, she says, “Please be patient – it’s a lot to process.   The scale of the lies.”
"There aren't any more lies"  — YEAH, RIGHT!
He assures her that there are no more lies, and he wants them to be an honest husband and wife, who are open with each other – more than anything.
"Good night"

She nods her head, and tearfully bids him good night,
She feels her stomach
then feels her stomach.
"You haven't lost any of your charisma!"
At his house, Hywel pours out two gin and and tonics;  “Do you know what Cassie?   You haven’t lost any of your charisma – you look exactly like you did twenty years ago.”
"You'll have to try harder than that"
She is not impressed;  “You’ll have to try harder than that, if you want your way with me.”   He explains that his head is in a better place than last time, but she informs him, “I’m not talking about your head.”
“Everything else is still in working order, too!” he confirms,
Then he is let down by his dodgy knee
but then, as he is about to sit down, he is seized by a sudden pain in his knee.
"It's not funny, Cassie!"
“Oh, my knee’s gone!” he shouts, and she laughs;  “It’s not funny, Cassie!”
"You're not the man you were twenty years ago!"
She comes to the conclusion that he is not the man he was twenty years ago;  “I know that a pain in the knee can be a pain in the backside – I’ve had it, and had the op – best thing I’ve ever done.
"You must see the doctor as soon as you can"
“You’ll have to see the doctor as soon as you can.
"I won't touch you, in case I make things worse!"
“I won’t touch you tonight, in case I make things worse!   I’m going to put the kettle on, so we can have coffee instead of gin.”
Not what he had intended
Hywel is extremely embarrassed.
They enjoyed the film
Britt and Aaron have just finished watching a film;  “That’s one of my favourites,” she says, “Doesn’t matter how many times I watch it, that shark still scares me!
"I'll make you another hot chocolate"
“I’ll make you another hot chocolate and you can take it to bed with you.”
He thanks his mother, saying that it was really nice;
"It's the gas and electric bill"
when she goes into the kitchen, she notices some bills.   “I forgot about this – it’s the gas and electricity –
"They could disconnect us!"
“if we don’t pay it, they could disconnect us and it we would be in the dark, without any heating!”
"It's all right, Mam, don't panic"
Aaron tries to comfort her,
"I must pay it now!"
but she gets the laptop and is going to pay the bill online;
"No – it's late now"
“There’s no need to do it now – it’s late,” he tells her, but his mother’s mind is made up.
“And the potato invoice hasn’t been paid either,” she adds, “I should have done it before now!”   Aaron urges her to leave it for now, but then she discovers,
"There isn't enough in the bank account!"
“There isn’t enough in the bank account to pay the bills!” and is developing a full-scale panic.
Aaron’s assurances that Uncle Garry said he would help them, but she emphasises that he has already put in some money, but not enough.   “What are we going to do?” she shouts,
"Take a deep breath, Mam"
Aaron tells her that she has done so well tonight, and instructs her to take a deep breath;  “Look, Colin will be out before long – and he’ll sort everything out, OK?”
"Go to bed now – I'll be fine"
“Go to bed now, love, because I’ll be fine,” she tells him, “Aaron, I’m OK, honestly – go on,” but but he is reluctant to leave her.
However, Aaron can see that . . .
As he heads for his bedroom,
. . . his mother is far from fine
he sees that his mother is in a hysterical state.
