"Griffiths wants a chat with us"
Jim tells Eileen that Griffiths has phoned, wanting a chat with them;   she carries on with the washing-up, and he asks, “You’re not still worried about going into business with Griffiths, are you?”
"I'm worried that Sioned and Eifion are in a relationship"
“No, I’m worried that Sioned and Eifion are in a relationship – I saw them cuddling last night.”
"I thought he was gay"
Jim was under the impression that Eifion was gay, but she corrects him, “He’s bisexual, apparently!
"Sioned doesn't need this"
“Sioned doesn’t need this – she’s been through enough already.”
Jim points out that if they like each other . . .
"I'm going to keep a close eye on them!"
but Eileen goes on, “I’m going to keep a close eye on them!”
"It's nothing to do with us, Eileen"
He insists that it has nothing to do with them – Sioned is an adult, and he advises Eileen to keep out of it, or she may regret it.
DJ is taking it easy . . .
DJ is lounging on the sofa when Sioned wishes him good morning,
. . . and Sioned complains about his inactivity
and complains about him not being very active;  “Friends are supposed to be honest with each other,” she says, “You’re all right about what I said the other day, are you?”
"I wasn't serious – it was only a small crush!"
He informs her that he was not serious, pointing out that it was only a small crush, and she should not make a big deal of it, stressing that they understand each other.
"Why don't you go for a run?"
“Why don’t you go for a run before work, to wake you up?” she suggests,
"Yes, I might do that"
and he thinks he might do that.
Ed and Kelly are more like their old selves
Ed comes downstairs into the café and greets Kelly with a kiss;  “Thanks for giving me a second chance,” he says, and she wonders if they going to are have a girl.
"Possibly – or a boy!"
“Possibly – or a boy!” he answers, and she congratulates him on his perspicacity.
"Do you have any Bara Brith?"
Anita comes rushing in to ask if Kelly has any Bara Brith, as they are expecting guests;
"Why were you two so lovey-dovey?"
she comments, “Why were you two so lovey-dovey just then?   I saw you through the window.”
"Things are back to normal between us"
Kelly announces that things are back to normal between them now, and Anita is very glad to hear it;  she takes the Bara Brith and has to leave, as she has so much to do.
"Right, OK, boss!"
Kelly gives Ed his orders, in preparation for the café’s customers.
"Izzy's asking about May Day traditions"
At the kitchen table in Penrhewl, Sioned receives a message from Izzy, enquiring about May Day traditions;  Jim says that Siôn is the man to ask about that sort of thing, but unfortunately, Izzy and Siôn are not friends at the moment.
"I'll call in at Y Felin"
Sioned volunteers to call in at Y Felin on her way home, but Eifion has just come in and offers to give her a lift, as he is going to the village.
Eileen looks concerned about this,
"No, I'll take you – I'm going to see Siôn"
so Jim intervenes, “I have to go and at see Siôn, as it happens – you can come with me.”   Sioned wants to call at the café for some food on the way back;  she particularly likes bacon and eggs.   Eifion wishes that he had time to stuff his face.
Siôn is going to welcome his guests with a speech . . .
At Y Felin, Siôn is rehearsing his speech for their guests;  “Some think that John Nash has a link to the place, dating back to the time he lived at Carmarthen.”   He explains to Anita that he is preparing a presentation of Y Felin’s history in the context of the village and the wider community.
. . . but Anita does not want him to bore them
She is of the opinion that they should not bore their guests,
"This is a unique experience – our USP!"
but he insists, “This is our opportunity to offer our guests a unique experience – the USP, as everyone calls it.”   Then there is a knock at the door,
It is not, however, their guests arriving
but it is not the expected visitors, but rather Sioned and Jim, which comes as a disappointment.
"It's a bit inconvenient at the moment"
“They want your expertise, Siôn, but I have said it’s a bit inconvenient,” says Anita.
"I want to speak to you about May Day traditions"
Sioned wants to speak to him about May Day traditions, as they are thinking about doing some activities at the fair.
"If you call in tomorrow . . ."
He is sure that he can help them with this, but at the moment it is not convenient, so if they call in tomorrow, he may have some information for them.
"Ooh, 'Airbnb' – you're up to date, Siôn!"
Then there is another knock at the door, and Siôn explains, “We’ve started an ‘Airbnb’ service,”
Their paying guests arrive
and they leave just as the two guests come in, and Siôn welcomes them.
"Do you fancy a go, then?"
In the barn, Eifion is just donning his boxing gloves again when Eileen arrives;  he asks if she fancies a go with the punch bag.
"Are you in a relationship with Sioned?"
“Are you in a relationship with Sioned?” Eileen demands pointedly,
"None of your business!"
and he replies that it is none of her business.
“I think it is, after your history with her last time!” Eileen snarls,
"Honestly, I'm not!"
so he assures her that, honestly, he is not in a relationship with Sioned.   “What’s going on here last night?   I saw you!” she continues.
"I can't syop thinking about Bobi and Arthur"
“Sioned was comforting me because I miss the boys so much,” he replies, “I can’t stop thinking about Bobi and Arthur – what they’re doing – when will I see them again?
"I am not interested in Sioned"
“At least, you can stop worrying now – I’m not interested in Sioned – we’re just friends.”
Embarrassed, Eileen slinks away
Eileen is both reassured and embarrassed at having raised the subject, and leaves the barn.
"How did the run go, then?"
Sioned finds DJ at Awyr Iach and asks how his run went;  “What do you want me to say?
"I just put one foot in front of the other . . ."
“I put one foot in front of the other, until I was out of puff!” he tells her.
"You make me laugh – as a friend"
“You make me laugh – as a friend,” she replies, and he suggests that, as he has been a good boy and been for a jog, they could do something nice tonight – as friends.
"Meet me at Penrhewl"
She instructs him to meet her at Penrhewl when he has finished his shift, and they will have some fun;  he is somewhat puzzled by this.
Kelly is thinking about making some purchases
Kelly is looking at buying things on the iPad, but Ed thinks it would be tempting fate to buy things this early;  undeterred, she says, “Look, this was the one I was telling you about,”
"That much for a Moses basket?"
but he is shocked by the price of the Moses basket.
"We've got a Moses basket you can have"
Jim has just walked in, and remarks, “We’ve got a Moses basket you can have, if you want,” and Kelly complains about Ed’s big mouth.   “Congratulations – how long have you known?” Jim goes on, and is told that the 12-week scan is in a fortnight.
"A little friend on the way for Huwi"
“Eileen will be happy there’s a little friend on the way for Huwi,” Jim says, just as Sioned walks through the door.
"Who's Huwi-John's little friend?"
“Who’s Huwi-John’s little friend, then?” she enquires, and from Kelly’s silence, realises the truth;  Sioned is rather taken aback.
Siôn has another booking
“Hey, we’ve had another booking for this weekend,” exclaims Siôn, excitedly,
"That's rather short notice, Siôn"
but Anita thinks that it is rather short notice;  she will not have time to tidy up and change the bedding.   He assures her that he will help;  “It won’t take us long, and we can’t say no to a small family,” he insists,
"I'm enjoying this 'Airbnb' business!"
“I’ll accept the booking now – I’m enjoying this ‘Airbnb’ business!”
Anita wonders how he wants to celebrate his first customers;
"We could make use of the empty house!"
he replies that as they are not coming back from Lampeter until about ten, they could make the most of the empty house,
"No, Siôn White – I'm not in the mood!"
but she does not want to do this, explaining that she is not in the mood.
Her suggestion is to invite Kelly and Ed over for dinner;  “To celebrate the fact that they understand each other again.   Come on, we haven’t had a family dinner for a while.
"Your chance to make up with Iolo and Tyler"
“It would give you a chance to make up with Iolo and Tyler as well – because I know you miss them!”
"They're the ones being childish, not me!"
He stubbornly insists that they are the ones being childish, and not him;  in any case he has a lot of work to do with ‘Airbnb’ –
"I have to read up about May Day"
and he has to read up about May Day for tomorrow.   She is not persuaded, but still intends to invite Kelly and Ed over;  “I’m glad they’ve been able to sort out their problems – in a mature way!”
Thinking about phoning Iolo is as far as he gets
Siôn sits down, gets out his phone and scrolls down to Iolo’s number, then Anita asks him to check in the airing cupboard if there is another set of bedding.
This is Sioned's idea of 'fun'
In the barn, as Sioned helps DJ to put on the boxing gloves, she tells him, “I didn’t know what to say to them,” and he appreciates that it must have been a shock.   He says that anyone would react like that after finding out that their ex was having a baby.
"I should have gone to the Deri!"
He adds, “If I knew this was what you had in mind, I would have gone to the Deri!”   Sioned insists that he can still go there, but after they have finished, and promises to buy the first round.
Eifion is equipped with a lethal weapon
DJ begins attacking the punchbag, as Sioned films him on her phone;  Eifion, complete with his pitchfork, asks if they know what they are doing, and Sioned replies, “It’s not rocket science.”   Eifion warns DJ that he is going to regret hitting the punchbag so hard, but she is under the impression that he is doing great.
"What are you going to do with that video?"
DJ wonders what she is going to do with the video,
"Just trust me, DJ"
but she tells him, “Just trust me, and carry on.”
"It doesn't hit back!"
He is beginning to quite enjoy it, remarking that it does not hit back;
"I shall hit you back, if you don't concentrate!"
“I shall hit you back, if you don’t concentrate!” Sioned threatens.
“You’ve forgotten about your past pretty quickly,” Eifion taunts him, but is told that good friends can joke about anything.”
"Make sure you tell them about the café"
Kelly is enjoying the meal at Y Felin, and asks Anita, “Are you offering breakfast to these visitors?   If not, make sure you tell them about the café.”
"We already have some laverbread"
Siôn informs her that they have already got some laverbread – a real Welsh breakfast.
However, Anita is adamant they will not give that to their guests;
"They don't want to eat seaweed!"
“People eat cereal and toast for their breakfast – not seaweed!”   Ed wonders whose idea this ‘Airbnb’ was;  it appears that Anita suggested it, and Siôn agreed, which he describes as teamwork.
"There has been a misunderstanding"
“Are Iolo and Tyler AWOL?   I thought they would be here,” Kelly enquires, and a rather strained silence follows.   Siôn explains that there has been a misunderstanding about looking after Greta, and Anita elaborates that he is too stubborn to sort things out.
Siôn does not want to discuss the matter
He is not keen to discuss it at the meal table, as they are supposed to be celebrating tonight.   “Who knows about the baby, then?” he asks, “Isn’t it is a bit early to start telling people?”
"There's no cast-iron rule!"
“There’s no cast-iron rule!” Kelly exclaims, but Anita hopes they do not make it public knowledge until after the scan, then worries what will happen if Jim tells Sioned.
"Sioned already knows"
Ed reveals that she already knows, but Kelly does not care how Sioned reacts;
"Are we celebrating, or what?"
“Are we celebrating or what?” she says.
"There's nothing going on between them"
Jim walks into the farmhouse kitchen and is told that Eileen has spoken to Eifion;  “There’s nothing going on between them – and I think Eifion and I understand each other better after today,” she tells him,
"I've been looking at this paperwork"
then goes on, “I’ve been looking at this paperwork – there doesn’t seem to be anything suspect here.
"I don't trust Griffiths at all!"
“But we need to be careful – I don’t trust Griffiths at all!”
"Are you happy for people to know?"
In the Deri, Ed asks Kelly, “Did you mean what you said tonight?   That you’re happy for people to know you’re pregnant?”
"I'm willing for you to move back to our bedroom"
She answers that it is a fresh start, and suggests that she is willing for him to move back into their bedroom.
"That would make me very happy"
“That would make me very happy,” Ed smiles.
"People can see how well you're doing"
Elsewhere in the pub, Sioned is putting the video of DJ on the Internet;  “So people can see how how great you’re doing –
"It's obvious you've lost weight already¡"
“it’s obvious that you’ve lost weight already!”
DJ attends to a call of nature
When he goes to the gent’s, Sioned notices Eifion sitting, glumly, by the bar;
"Are the children still on your mind?"
“You were odd earlier when DJ was over – are the children still on your mind?”
"Your mother thought there was something going on between us"
He replies that her mother thought there was something going on between them.
“I don’t want that,” he assures her, “But seeing you and DJ together has made me realise how much I miss being in a relationship.”
"We're not in a relationship"
Sioned is quick to point out that she and DJ are not in a relationship,
"There's a 'spark' between you"
but he can see there is a ‘spark’ between them.
She considers him as a friend, and has not given any thought to it developing further;
"I don't want to turn into a controlling monster again!"
“I’d like to have a boyfriend one day, and settle down, but how can I be sure I won’t turn into a controlling monster again?”
Eifion assures her that at least she is trying to be a better person, finishes his drink and leaves the Deri.
Sioned looks across at Ed and Kelly
Sioned looks across at Kelly and Ed;  she approaches them to congratulate them on the baby, saying she did not get a chance earlier at the café.
"I don't want you anywhere near us!"
Kelly tells her, “I don’t want you to congratulate us – because I don’t want you anywhere near us!   Don’t play games, Sioned,” and Ed thinks it advisable that Sioned should leave them.
"Sioned is trying to be nice"
DJ is quick to spring to Sioned’s defence;  “I know there is history here, but Sioned is trying to be nice – everyone can change.”
"Come on, Ed, we're going home!"
Kelly has had enough of this, and wants to go home.
"Your knight in shining armour!"
Sioned remarks that it is the second time DJ has defended her today, and he likens himself to, “Your knight in shining armour!”
"What was that about, Kel?"
Kelly and Ed arrive back in the café flat, and he asks if she is going to tell him what that was about;
“Sioned, obviously!” Kelly snarls, and he points out that she was trying to be nice.
"She reminded me of Angela, like"
“Oh yeah – whatever!   Sorry, but she just reminded me of Angela, like,  and . . .”
"No-one is going to spoil our happiness as a family"
Ed stops her there, and informs her, “I’m not going to let anyone – Angela, or Sioned – spoil our happiness as a family ever again!”
"I'm lucky to have you, Ed"
She says that she is lucky to have him,
They kiss . . .
and they kiss;
. . . and all appears to be well
marital harmony appears to have been restored.
