Despite his hangover, Hywel looks pleased with himself |
Gaynor's hangover tablets |
"My mouth feels like something has died in it!" |
She regrets that she does not have a change of clothes for him,
so he concludes, “I’ll have to do the walk of shame in my suit – not that I’m ashamed of anything. Why don’t I make some breakfast while you have your shower?”
"I'll have to do the walk of shame in my suit" |
"About last night. Hywel . . ." |
"Perhaps I will have a couple of tablets" |
In the café, Iolo is off to start work, and tells his father that he has been gathering information about renewing their vows;
Siôn wonders if that is necessary. “You’re already married – nothing’s wrong – nobody’s ill,” he says.
"Is that necessary, Iolo?" |
"We want to celebrate after the explosion" |
"Will you be at Kelly's party?" |
"Tyler's going for the deputy head's job" |
"He doesn't want anyone to know – especially Ffion" |
At that moment, she and Rhys walk in and ask Siôn for two Americanos;
Rhys is telling her, “They would have to be daft not to give you the job – everyone knows you’re an excellent teacher!”
"They would have to be daft not to give you the job" |
She replies that it would mean a lot of extra work, and he would hardly ever see her, but he encourages her not to make excuses, but go and fill in the application from.
Ffion says she will also be at Kelly’s party, as she wants to meet the little one,
and Rhys jokes that he could write her a reference for the job, as a former pupil.
"Will you be at Kelly's party?" |
"I could write you a reference, if you want" |
After breakfast, Gaynor feels slightly better |
Then Izzy appears |
"Thanks for coming over Hywel" |
His dishevelled appearance makes it obvious to Izzy what has been going on;
“Did he stay here last night?” she demands,
“You’re not going anywhere until you tell me about your dirty one-night-stand!”
"Did he stay here last night?" |
"I want to hear all about your dirty one-night-stand!" |
Dani is shopping for Kelly |
"Kelly can buy one for herself" |
"I thought you could write down how you are feeling" |
"Since when have you been 'Mr Sensitive'?" |
"You've been a bit obsessed with Kelly's baby" |
"Stop going on about it, Garry!" |
“Do you know what, Garry? You’re the one who can’t deal with things –
“perhaps you should write down your feelings!” she snarls, “I’m fine!”
and she walks out of the room.
"Perhaps you should write down your feelings!" |
She walks out of the room |
"It was only one night – nothing more" |
"I hope you weren't snogging at the charity do!" |
She hopes that they were ‘being safe’, but her mother is not comfortable with talking like this;
“Look, it was only one drunken night – can we please forget about it?
"It was only one drunken night!" |
Izzy is not deterred, but asks whether Hywel knows how she feels – that it was a one-night-stand;
“Don’t raise his hopes,” she advises, but Gaynor stresses that they understand each other. “Just tell him, to be on the safe side,” Izzy continues, as her mother is in a hurry to leave for school.
"Don't raise his hopes!" |
Garry sits with the book in front of him |
"Are you writing a novel?" |
"Dani was right –it is a waste of time" |
"Putting your worries down on paper does help" |
"Dani does not like anything I suggest at the moment" |
"It may be her way of coping" |
"I can't go through this again" |
"Have you started that application form yet?" |
"Gaynor more or less told me to go for it" |
"Perhaps grief is clouding your judgment" |
"We've already got two children!" |
They are all ready for Kelly's return |
"She'll need a lot of support from her friends now" |
"Who bought these wet-wipes?" |
"Are you sure this isn't too much for you?" |
"You're exactly like Garry!" |
Kelly is home . . . |
. . . and they give a rousing cheer |
Gaynor is glad to be home |
Hywel is expecting a repeat performance |
Izzy snatches the phone from her; “Shall I send a reply with an aubergine emoji,
“so he knows you want to see his aubergine again?”
Her mother tells her to grow up, and retrieves the phone.
"So he knows you want to see his aubergine again?" |
"Grow up, Izzy!" |
He is totally gorgeous |
"If you don't like the name, you can always change it" |
"There are loads, Auntie Anita" |
She is really grateful that they have all come, and Auntie Anita replies that they had to put on a welcome for the little one;
“And you’ve made home-made sausage rolls with that lush chutney – you’re a godsend,” Kelly tells her.
"Sausage rolls with that lush chutney" |
Iolo says that the baby looks exactly like Kelly,
but Ffion ventures the opinion that he is more like Ed – then realises what she has said and is very apologetic.
"No, he's more like Ed" |
"I don't want you feeling awkward about mentioning Ed" |
"I'm going down to get some green teabags" |
"Dis you have to say something so insensitive?"" |
"Just think before opening your mouth!" |
"Ed is the father of my baby" |
"I really miss him, Dan!" |
Dani has not said a word, as Kelly sits down,
confessing, “He was a murderer – and I’m still grieving for him – I still miss him.”
"He was a murderer – and I still miss him!" |
"I still miss Gethin – and I love him" |
"There's no point in ignoring it" |
"Garry doesn't think I've dealt with losing the baby" |
"There's no point talking about something that really hurts" |
"How can you work after doing a full day at school?" |
"Sorry I haven't answered your text" |
"I haven't had so much fun for ages!" |
She stresses that there is no need to over-complicate things;
“We had a good time, and that’s enough, isn’t it?”
He says he is in agreement with that, and hopes to meet up for a drink before long. “But not on a school night next time,” she stipulates.
He looks cautiously optimistic.
"We had a good time, and that's enough, isn't it?" |
"Hope we meet up for a drink before long" |
He once again looks pleased with himself |
"What did he say, then?" |
"It was just a one-off" |
Ffion is still very apologetic |
"I'm really exhausted – but I'm fine!" |
"He wants his mother's milk" |
They consider thay have done a good job |
"I don't want anything to eat" |
"You haven't eaten properly for days" |
"I'm going for a lie-down" |
"I'm fed up with you going on and on!" |
“You want to know what’s wrong? I’m fed up with you going on and on at me to move on –
“I don’t want to move on, Garry, because our baby died! See, I can say it.
“By the way, I’m not going to stop seeing Kelly’s baby, whether you like it or not. Because, at the moment, it’s the only thing that makes me happy!”
"I don't want to move on– because our baby died!" |
"It's the only thing that makes me happy!" |
