"Does Picasso have time for a cup of tea?"
Colin hurries back into the chip shop flat, shouting, “Does Picasso have time for a cup of tea?   I’ve got these fancy biscuits you like,”
He finds a note . . .
but then discovers that Britt is not there.   She has left is a note on the table,
. . . explaining Britt's absence
informing him that she has gone to the Cash-and-Carry with Garry.
He checks she has taken today's tablets
He looks rather concerned and checks Britt’s tablet box, to make sure she has been taking them;  Monday’s compartment is empty, and he is worried about her,
When he sees her latest artwork . . .
looking at her painting in progress,
. . . he seems slightly more hopeful
but seems to exhibit a glimmer of hope.
"Doesn't it put people off their food?"
In the café, Anita cannot understand why Kelly likes the picture so much;  “Doesn’t it put people off their food?”
"I have had a couple of complaints"
Kelly admits that she has had a couple of complaints;  “The customer is always right,” Anita reminds her, but she does not know how to tell Mathew.
"I can't tell him to take it down"
“I can’t tell him to take it down because people think his Auntie’s minging!” she wails,
Dai is reprimanding Mathew . . .
and at that moment Mathew comes in, on the receiving end of an angry phone call;  he asks her for a large coffee.
“I got up late, and Dai is after my blood already!” he says,
. . . then he smashes the screen
and then his phone slips from his hand and hits the floor, smashing its screen.
"It's her fault, Kel – I have to take it back!"
“No!” he shouts, “That’s not a coincidence – it’s her fault!   Sorry, Kel, but I have to take it back – the curse is getting stronger – she’ll kill me!”
"I'm gutted, like, but I understand"
Kelly tries to hide her delight, as she agrees that he can take the picture back to the flat, but maintains, “I’m gutted, like, but I understand.”
Thumbs up from Anita
Anita smiles.
Arwen is on the way to school
Rhys is taking Arwen to school, and as they pass the shop they meet Hywel,
"You're late!"
who snarls that they are late, and school starts at nine.
"Don't take any notice of him!"
Rhys advises Arwen, “Don’t take any notice of him – we’ll be there in no time, because we can fly, can’t we?”
Off they go, doing aircraft impressions . . .
and off they go past the chippy,
. . . and Hywel is even more determined
while Hywel looks even more determined to put his plan into action.
Tyler arrives early for his appointment
Tyler arrives at the headteacher’s office early;
"Aled is leaving the school"
“As you’re here, I might as well tell you that Aled’s parents have confirmed he’s leaving the school,” Gaynor tells him, “Surely you didn’t expect him to stay after this?”
"Did he say anything?"
Tyler wonders if Aled said anything, and is warned by Gaynor to forget about him,
"You need to concentrate on today"
and concentrate on today, before he makes a bad situation worse.
"It isn't my fault – it's Auntie Nel's!"
Mathew arrives at Bryntirion, and apologise for being late;  “But it isn’t my fault – it’s Auntie Nel’s!”
“What – that naked woman?” DJ enquires, and Mathew explains he had to move her back into the flat, because the curse is getting worse.
"Look – we've got work to do!"
“Look, I don’t have a clue what you’re on about, but we’ve got work to do!” Dai instructs him;
"You need to get rid of the curse"
Diane says he should do something to get rid of the curse, recalling that there was a programme on the television.   Dai has had enough of this and storms out to put on his coat.
"There was a programme about exorcism"
Diane goes on, “He needs our help – on this programme they had an exorcism to get rid of ghosts who aren’t ready to move onto the next life.”   Mathew wants to know why they are not ready, and is told, “Perhaps they have got something to say or do.”
“And once they’ve done it, do they go then?” Mathew continues,
"It's all a lot of rubbish!"
but DJ regards the whole thing as a lot of rubbish.   “Diane, can you perform an exorcism, please?” Mathew demands, and she thinks that she could try, as people have said she has a special aura.
"Oh – is that what the smell is?"
“Oh, is that what the smell is?” groans Dai, “Come on!”
Kelly is filmed for the app
In the café, Tesni and Luned are making a video of Kelly, for their local small business app;
"We're hoping it will go live tonight"
“We’re hoping that the app will go live tonight,” says Tesni, and Kelly thinks that pretending to make coffee is more of a laugh than actually making it.
"I'll tell my customers to download it"
She will tell her customers to download the app.
"How about free coffee for the first fifty?"
“Perhaps you could do more than that – a free coffee for the first 50 who download it?” Tesni suggests, but is beaten down to the first 20 – and only filter coffee.
"Us girls need to stick together!'
Kelly maintains, “Us girls need to stick together!”   They tell her she is amazing;  “Or off my head!” she mutters,
"Coffee to go, please, Kelly"
as Iolo comes in for a coffee to go.   “If you download this app, you can have it for free!” she announces.
"Tyler's got this meeting with the governors today"
“Tyler’s got this meeting with the governors today – he’s worried,” Iolo tells her, and she appreciates it is a horrible situation for them both, but is sure everything will be all right,
"Tyler hasn't done anything"
as Tyler has not done anything.
Iolo wishes he was that certain
Iolo’s expression betrays he is not quite sure about that.
Colin is out shopping . . .
Colin is in town, shopping, and as he walks up a lane, carrying a bag and some flowers,
. . . when he finds his way barred
is confronted by a hooded stranger.
"Your wallet and your phone!"
“Your wallet and your phone, and you can go!” he is told, in English.   Another hooded figure is behind Colin.
"Hang on – you can't . . ."
When he remonstrates with the stranger,
Then a knife is brandished . . .
a knife is produced, so Colin quickly hands over his phone and wallet;
. . . and Colin loses his watch as well
the second assailant, a woman, takes a fancy to his watch, so he removes it.
The flowers are trampled underfoot . . .
Before they go, they stamp on his flowers,
. . . as is the canvas for Britt
and the blank canvas which he has bought for Britt’s artistic attempts, and describe him as pathetic.
Tyler enters the room
Tyler enters the room for his hearing;
Gaynor is joined by two governors
he faces the headteacher and two governors.
"Thank you for giving me a chance to tell my side"
He thanks them for giving him a chance to explain his side of the story, and is sorry that it has come to this.
"This was a serious issue"
Gaynor begins, “As you know, Tyler, this was a serious issue.   Following our investigation, it is obvious a line had been crossed in the teacher-pupil relationship.
"There were concerns about the circumstances"
“Even though the video shows the pupil making the first move, there were concerns about the circumstances that led to the incident.   We received a statement from the pupil today;
"He takes full responsibility for his behaviour"
“that Aled Richards takes full responsibility for his behaviour in the video, and says he mistook a teacher’s concern about his school work as something more.   He also says Mr Davies-White has not acted unprofessionally in any way.”
The governors show their approval
The other two members of the panel nod their approval.
"There is a clear line a teacher should not cross"
“As a result, this means you can return to school tomorrow – but, Tyler, I want you to remember there is a clear line a teacher should not cross.   If anything like this happens again, there will not be another chance.”
Tyler thanks them . . .
Tyler thanks them, and will see Gaynor tomorrow.
. . . and is mightily relieved
Outside the door, he breathes a sigh of relief.
Colin is discovered sitting on the ground
Colin is sitting despondently on the ground by a fence, his damaged purchases with him;
"Are you OK?"
a passing mother with her pram asks if he is OK,
Colin says he is fine . . .
and he replies that he is fine, so she walks on,
. . . but he certainly does not look it
as Colin looks very downhearted.
"Did she have any enemies?"
In the Deri, Diane asks Mathew if Auntie Nel had any enemies;  “It would be easier to make a list of people who weren’t in her bad books!” he replies.   She explains that it is all part of the process of getting to know her;
"The more likely we are to have a spiritual connection"
the more Diane knows about her, the more likely they are to have a spiritual connection.
"You've never done anything like this before!"
Dai has just arrived at the bar and overheard this;  he scoffs, “What kind of spiritual connection?   You’ve never done something like this before!”
Then Anita comes in, wanting to see Diane;  “Don’t tell me you want an exorcism too?” she jokes,
"When can we talk about the election?"
but Anita wants to talk to her about the election, and is looking forward to working with her.
“We’ll make a good team, you and me!” Anita goes on, “I’ll be making the big decisions!”
"Every decision is a big one, Anita"
but Diane points so that every decision is a big one if it affects the community.   She does not know if she will be available at the end of the week, but will phone.
"I shall have to find someone to stand against her"
When Anita has gone, Diane decides she will have to find someone else to stand for election against Anita;  “I’ve just realised that electing her would be a huge mistake.”
She looks at DJ
When she looks at DJ,
"Don't ask me, because the answer is no!"
he is adamant that she should not waste her time asking, as his answer is no.
Tesni and Luned are pleased with their app
As they work on the local businesses app, Tesni and Luned are very pleased with their efforts;  “Apparently, Mr Davies-White is finding out today if he has been sacked,” remarks Tesni, “It’s obvious they’re having a thing, but I don’t want him to leave.”
"It must be hard for him to 'come out'"
Luned is more doubtful about the relationship;  “We all know that Aled’s got issues – have you seen his selfies?   He’s desperate for attention – I feel sorry for him – it must be hard to ‘come out’, even though we’ve suspected since year 7.”
"Why have an affair when he's married to a hot babe?"
Tesni wonders, “Why would Sir have an affair with him when he’s married to a babe?”   Luned regards him as ‘The Hot Plumber’.
"And he can fix your toilet!"
Tesni continues, “Muscles, a lovely smile, nice eyes – and he can fix your toilet!”
Mathew is after a crucifix
Then Mathew comes to the door, asking if they have a spare crucifix;  Tesni scowls, “Yes, I prefer a boyfriend who’s obsessed with Auntie Nel’s goes!
"The first thing you want is a crucifix?"
“I haven’t seen you for days, and the first thing you want is a crucifix?”   He answers that they are doing an exorcism,
Luned is puzzled
and Luned regards him as very strange.
Arwen is again on her iPad
After school, Arwen is playing on her iPad with Rhys, when a voice can be heard;  “Special delivery for Arwen!”
"Ffion said you were a hunk, but I didn't expect this!"
Val appears in the doorway, and Rhys wonders who on earth she is.   “Ffion said you were a hunk, but I didn’t expect this!” is her first comment,
She has a present for Arwen . . .
then she gives Arwen a present,
. . . and Rhys deduces who she is
and he realises that she is Val.
She wants to know where Ffion is – apparently on a course for a couple of days;  “Typical – I knew I should have phoned before coming, but I wanted to surprise her.   Ffion gave me a spare key just in case.”   Rhys will make a drink for them.
Colin is in a state when he reaches home
Colin arrives home in quite a state, but Britt is still not there;
"Britt, phone me back – something's happened"
he uses the house phone to leave a message, “Britt, phone me back, will you?   Something’s happened – I’m all right – but just phone me back, please.”
They prepare to 'contact' Auntie Nel
As they sit around the table in the shop flat, watched over by the picture, balanced on the sofa, Diane says, “My job tonight is to lead Auntie Nel to her spiritual home.”   Tesni is sitting, reading a magazine and looking sceptical.
They hold hands
Diane instructs them to hold hands, but Dai considers that not to be necessary;  as usual, he is overruled by Diane.   “Close your eyes,” she goes on,
"Auntie Nel, are you there?"
“Auntie Nel, are you there?   Don’t be scared – we’re here to help you.”
As Tesni sniggers at their antics, Diane continues, “If you’re here, give us a sign,”
Tesni's phone gives Dai a shock
whereupon Tesni’s phone sounds loudly with a text alert, which causes Dai some alarm.
"She's saying 'STOP'!"
When they have joined hands once more, Diane alleges, “Ooh – I felt something then!   I can hear a woman’s voice – she’s saying, ‘STOP!’”   Dai has now had more than enough of this;
"Was it Auntie Nel?   Was she angry?"
Mathew asks if it was Auntie Nel, and whether she sounded angry.
Tesni is enjoying the entertainment
“If she was angry, we need to stop this nonsense!” exclaims Dai, but is told that they must go on;  Diane intones, “Auntie Nel, don’t be angry – we want to be friends.”   Dai adds that if she does not want to say anything that is also fine.
"We're sorry, Auntie Nel, we're sorry!"
Diane begins shaking, and reports she can feel something again;  “She is angry – We’re sorry, Auntie Nel, we’re sorry!”
As the shaking intensifies, there is a crash behind them, and a shelf has fallen from the wall, much to Tesni’s great amusement.
"Criket Moses!   She doesn't want to talk to us!"
“Crikey Moses!   Right – that’s it!   It’s obvious she doesn’t want to talk to us!” Dai rants, but Tesni points out the shelf has been dodgy for ages.
"Why did it break just then?"
Mathew wonders why it broke at that particular moment.
“Come on – we’re off!” Dai insists, “You don’t know what could happen!   And anyway, it’s Mathew that Auntie Nel wants!”   Diane maintains that Auntie Nel is not ready to move on to the next world yet,
Mathew is horrified that this will continue
which fills Mathew with horror.
"That went well, didn't it?"
Tesni remarks that the event went well.
"£13 grand for doing nothing!"
In the Deri, DJ is telling Hywel, “£13 grand for doing nothing – that’s what Dad said!”
"It comes with a lot of responsibility"
but Hywel points out that it does come with a lot of responsibility.   “Responsibility is what I don’t want – those two will only use me as a puppet – I’m not stupid!”
Dai and Diane arrive in the Deri
Dai and Diane have just arrived,
Val's first impression
and Hywel receives a text message, “Your son’s lovely,” from Val, so has to leave.
"He's a dodgy character, that one!"
Dai calls him, “A dodgy character – exactly like his father!   You shouldn’t worry about standing against him!” but again DJ insists that he is not standing,
"How did the exorcism go, then?"
and then enquires how the exorcism went.
"Your father was scared of my powers!"
Diane relates that they had to leave before she finished, as his father was scared of her powers.   He hotly denies this, adding, “I don’t doubt that Diane can contact the dead, but no more of this mumbo-jumbo, or you don’t know what can happen!”
"I need a large whisky for these palpitations"
Diane is smiling at his discomfiture, and he decides he needs a large whisky to sort out his palpitations.
Diane admits he staged the whole thing
When Dai heads for the toilet, Diane remarks, “I don’t know what came over him – I didn’t feel anything and I don’t believe in ghosts either!”
Val seems to have made herself at home
Rhys finds that Val is preparing dinner, and comments that it smells nice;  “Are you sure you don’t mind me staying here tonight?” she asks.   Then the buzzer sounds, and she finds it is Hywel;
"I don't want him here!"
Rhys reveals that he and his father are not talking;  he does not want him there.
"Val – fancy seeing you here!"
Hywel feigns surprise at seeing Val, and Rhys asks what he wants;  he has brought some paperwork.
Arwen’s voice can be heard calling for Rhys, so he goes to see what she wants;
"I've made myself comfortable"
Hywel enquires if everything is all right, and Val reports that she has made herself comfortable.
"You're welcome to make yourself comfortable at my place!"
“You’re welcome to make yourself comfortable at my place any time,” he assures her,
He hands her a key
and gives her a spare key.
"Haven't you gone yet?"
When Rhys comes back, his father says he was just leaving.
Tyler is still obsessed with Aled
Tyler is looking at Aled’s CnocCnoc page online, and appears to be about to send a message,
Iolo arrives home . . .
but quickly closes the laptop when he hears the door open.
. . . and is pleased to hear the news
Iolo asks him what happened at the meeting, and he replies, “I go back to school tomorrow.”
Iolo regards that as very good news,
"I hope we can put all this behind us"
and Tyler continues, “It’s just hard to believe it’s all over.   I hope we can put all this behind us now.”
"Is the school says you're innocent, you must be"
“Yes, if the school says you’re innocent, you must be,” Iolo replies, but as he goes to make a cup of tea,
He is not convinced
he still does not look entirely convinced.
The phone rings
Colin is unenthusiastically picking at his meal when the phone rings;
"Britt, are you OK?"
“Britt, are you OK?” he says, and when he hears where she is, he goes on, “Well, enjoy yourself – and I’ll see you tonight.
"It was nothing important"
Oh, it wasn’t important – I’m all right – see you later, love.”
He pushes away his plate . . .
He pushes away his plate of food,
. . . and is very troubled
and sighs.
