Sioned works on the Cae Glas accounts
Sioned is doing some Cae Glas work on the laptop when she hears a door slam,
She hears a door slam
and is immediately frightened;  she calls out, “Mathew, is that you?” but receives no reply.
"Mathew, is that you?"
She is terror-stricken, and calls his name again;  then Mathew comes up the stairs, listening to music with his earphones, and unable to hear her.
"That's a minute slower than last week!"
He reports that he was a minute slower than last week,
Sioned is feeling highly-strung
and Sioned breathes a sigh of relief;  he says that it is only natural for her to be frightened, and is now going for a shower.
She dials her mother's number
Sioned phones her mother, who is standing, looking worried, by the sink at Penrhewl.
"Are you coming over today?"
She is startled by the phone call, and asks if Sioned will be coming over today,
"No, I'm working here – I'm fine"
but she replies she will be working from home;  Eileen is very worried, but is assured that her daughter is fine.
"Turn that down, Guto!"
At number 10, Guto is playing a computer game, which his mother says is too loud;  he is concentrating, as he is nearly on the next level.
"We deserve one day off, Mam"
Tesni is making herself a cup of tea, and Jaclyn and asks if she has school work to do.   “We deserve one day off, Mam,” she groans in reply,
Tesni takes her tea back to bed with her
and goes back to bed.
Then Jaclyn interrupts Guto about doing school work,
"Flipping heck, Mam!"
and in a rage he throws the handset across the room, shouting, “Flipping heck, Mam!”
Tyler rejects a phone call
Across the road at number 7, Tyler receives a phone call, but rejects it;
"Nice for some – lazing away all day!"
Iolo comes downstairs, ready for work, and comments, “Nice for some – lazing away all day!”
"I've got loads to catch up with"
Tyler takes issue with this, as he has loads to catch up with, but Iolo reminds him that Gaynor understands.   He also wonders if Dani has gone to pick up Greta.
Then a text message arrives on Tyler’s phone, which he says is from Gaynor;  “She can wait!”   Iolo tells him not to work too hard, and leaves.
That Aled will not leave him alone
Another text arrives, from Aled, wanting to see Tyler again, and enquiring when he is free.
Ffion and Arwen enter the café
Ffion and Arwen come into the café,
This Aled's base for plaguing Tyler
from where Aled has been sending the text messages.
Kath spreads the word about Debbie's sexual proclivities
Kath is cryptically talking to Jaclyn about, “Cricket and football!” which is interpreted as Debbie ‘batting for both sides’,
"The story's right round the village!"
or as Kath describes it, “Bisexual!   The story’s right around the village.”
Jaclyn escapes to talk to Ffion
Jaclyn escapes from her to go and talk with Ffion, who asks how everything is in her house;
"Tesni and Guto must be busy with their 'personal declarations'!"
“Tesni and Guto must be busy with their personal declarations for going to university.   It’s not too long until they have to send them to UCAS.”
Jaclyn does not know what she is talking about
This comes as rather a surprise to Jaclyn.
"Everything I need is on the laptop, Mam"
Eileen has gone to see Sioned, taking her some Cae Glas paperwork;  “Everything I need is on the laptop,” Sioned tells her, but her mother says she had to come to the village anyway, to pick up a few things for Huwi’s birthday.
"Where is Huwi?"
“He’s downstairs with Colin, who is giving him some fuss.   Did you get any sleep last night?” Eileen wonders,
"There's no more news from the police"
and Sioned tells her that the police phoned, but there is no further news – they still have not caught Jessie, but say they have a lot of leads.
"Leads are no good unless they catch her!"
Eileen grumbles, “Leads are not any good unless they catch her!”
"I don't think they will ever catch her"
but Sioned has come to the conclusion that they will never catch her, and thought that she would work from home for the rest of the week.   Her mother is not very happy about this.
Rhys comes into the café . . .
Aled leaves the café just as Rhys comes in;
. . . where Ffion and Arwen are celebrating
“We’re celebrating the first day of the holidays,” Ffion tells him, “With a milkshake and brownies, aren’t we, Arwen?”
"I thought you might help me film the fitness video"
He enquires if she is busy;  “I thought you might help me film the fitness videos, while APD are sorting out the gym.   Please – for me?” he whines.
"I can't – I'm looking after Arwen"
She informs him that she cannot, as she is looking after Arwen,
He finishes the leftovers as they leave . . .
and they leave to go for a walk in the park;  he polishes off the remaining brownies.
. . . then he notices Kath . . .
Then he looks across to where Kath is sitting,
. . . and comes up with a plan
and has an idea.
"How's Sioned been over the weekend?"
As Eileen comes out of the shop, she asks Mathew and DJ how Sioned has been over the weekend;
"She's had a scare, but she'll be all right"
“She’s obviously had a scare, but she will be all right,” is the reply.
"Can you keep an eye on her for me?"
Eileen wants them to keep an eye on Sioned for her, then shouts across to Kath, who has come out of the café,
"Kath, can you look after Huwi for me?"
wanting her to look after Huwi at Penrhewl, as she is very busy.
"Sorry, Eileen, I've just arranged to have Arwen"
Kath regrets that she has just arranged to look after Arwen, so she cannot oblige.   Eileen is very disappointed.
Tyler takes another look at the message
Tyler looks again at the text on his phone, then it puts it down to continue with his work;
"Who's that at the back door?"
at that moment there is a knock at the back door, so he goes to investigate.
No-one is in the back garden . . .
There is no-one in the back garden, but as he looks around,
. . . but then Aled appears again
the gate opens and Aled is standing there.
"I'm so glad you could help, Kath!"
Ffion is very grateful to Kath for being willing to help;
"Yes, £20 is fine"
Rhys has explained everything to her, and they agreed on £20 for the afternoon.
"Arwen can't find her 'monkey' bag"
Then Rhys comes in, and reports that Arwen cannot find her ‘monkey’ bag, so Ffion goes to look for it.
"We need some space"
Rhys explains that he was hoping Kath could take Arwen out, as they want some space.
Ffion shouts to enquire if they are having music this time, and he informs Kath that music makes them work harder;  “Why don’t you take Arwen to the café for lunch?” he suggests,
He also pays for lunch in the café
and hands her some money for doing so.
Kath thinks she knows what is planned
By this time, Kath is jumping to conclusions about what activities Ffion and Rhys have in mind.
"I'll go and take these clothes off"
When Ffion brings Arwen in, those suspicions are further fuelled as she says, “I’ll go and take these clothes off.”
"You can't do this!"
Aled comes in through the gate and Tyler tells him he cannot do this;
"Just tell me that you've missed me"
“Just tell me that you’ve missed me,” says Aled, and is reminded that they almost got caught last week.
"Ty – where are you?"
They hear Iolo’s voice inside the house,
Aled is ejected from the garden rather abruptly
and Tyler roughly bundles Aled out of the gate.
"What are you doing out here?"
When Iolo finds him outside,
"I've just put the bins out"
he says he has put out the bins and was not expecting Iolo home.   Apparently, Iolo left a couple of quotes in the house;
Aled has not gone far
Aled can be seen lurking outside the gate.
"I've just got this VAT to finish"
Mathew and DJ come into the shop flat, and Sioned tells them that everything will be fine as soon as she has finished the VAT figures.
"Fancy going to the cinema tonight?"
“Do do you fancy going to the cinema tonight?” Mathew asks her, but she decides she would rather spend a night in front of the box.  No amount of persuasion will change her mind;  “I don’t want to go, right?” she rages.
"You didn't mention these 'personal declarations'"
At number 10, Jaclyn demands why the children did not mention these ‘personal declarations’,
"It's no big deal, Mam"
but they maintain it is no big deal, and they have plenty of time.   Guto has already started his, and points out that there is a good engineering course in Cardiff.
"I don't even know if I want to go to college"
Tesni, on the other hand, does not even know if she wants to go to college.   Her mother insists, “Of course you do!   Listen here, good girl, when I was your age –”
"Mathew wants us to go and see him"
But Tesni has returned to concentrating on her phone, and as her mother tries to continue, she says she has had a message from Math, who wants her and Guto to go and see him.   Jaclyn protests, “We were in the middle of a discussion there!” but they are already out of the door.
"I thought you'd gone!"
In the back street, Tyler faces Aled, and says, “I thought you’d gone!”
"I want to know when I shall see you again"
He replies that he cannot go, without knowing when he will see Tyler again.   “This will never work out,” Tyler insists.
Aled maintains, “You’re only saying that because you used to teach me – but I’m in a different school now – nothing’s stopping us!”
"What happened was a mistake!"
Tyler points out that he is married, and what happened last week was a mistake;  he takes full responsibility for that.
"I know you have feelings for me"
“I know you have feelings for me – you can’t even be honest with Iolo!” Aled goes on, but is told once more that he has to leave.   As he tries to kiss Tyler,
"No, Aled!"
he is pushed away, and says he will probably never see him again.   Then they kiss again,
Tyler watches him walk away (but he will surely be back!)
and Aled walks disconsolately away.
"We'll bring the cinema to you!"
Sioned is surprised to see that she has visitors;  Mathew and DJ return, this time bringing Tesni and Guto with them.   “Because you don’t want to go to the cinema, we’ll bring the cinema to you!” Mathew explains.
"Oh, all right, then"
She reluctantly agrees, and they assure her there will be nothing too violent, and none of that sloppy nonsense.
"Sorry I snapped at you"
She apologises to Mathew for snapping earlier,
"Don't worry – we're still mates"
but he reassures her that they are still mates.
"Don't hog all the cheese and onion, right?"
He warns DJ not to hog the cheese and onion crisps.
"Been in a fight with Idris Jones' U-bend!"
Iolo returns home, commenting that he deserves a bottle of beer:  “I’ve been in a fight with Idris Jones’ U-bend for two hours!”
"Come and sit down, Iol"
Tyler wants him sit down as there is something he needs to say;
"I want to be a good husband and father"
“I want to be a good husband and father – that’s what’s important to me.”
"And that's what you are"
Iolo replies that he is already these things, recalling that he put out the bins earlier.
“I haven’t been the best version of myself recently,” Tyler continues,
"You and Greta deserve better"
“You and Greta deserve better.”   He is reminded that he has been under a lot of strain recently, but regrets taking it out on Iolo, and wants to make it up to him.
"Will you renew our wedding vows"
“I want to ask you, will you renew our wedding vows?”
"You what?"
Iolo regards this with some surprise.
"She's definitely dead!"
At the end of one of the films, Guto and Tesni argue over whether one of the characters is dead or not,
"I'm an emotional man"
and accuse DJ of crying;  his excuse is that he is an emotional man.
Sioned apologises to Guto
DJ heads for the toilet, and Sioned goes to sit next to Guto;  “Listen – about what happened between us – I’m sorry.
"Are we OK?"
“I was drunk – and you know what things are like.   So, are we OK?”
"Yes, totally OK"
He agrees that they are totally OK, which comes as a huge relief to Sioned.
Kath finds them in a state of undress
When Kath brings Arwen back to Cysgod y Glyn, she finds that Rhys is just putting on his T-shirt, while Ffion is clad only in a towel, explaining that she has just come out of the shower.   This only serves to reinforce Kath’s suspicions;
"Did you have a good time with Auntie Kath?"
Arwen says that she had a good time with Auntie Kath.
"I didn't come back too early, did I?"
“I didn’t come back too early, did I?” Kath wonders, and is told by Ffion that they had a good session.
"I'd like another go, while Ffion is off school!"
Rhys asks if Kath is free at the weekend;  “I’d like another go while Ffion is off school!”
"It's not great in the evenings after work!"
Ffion adds that it is not great after work in the evenings when you are tired.   Kath is sure that she must have a couple of spare hours somewhere, and Ffion goes to get dressed.
"She was great today – but she wasn't keen this morning!"
“She was great today!” enthuses Rhys, “Especially as she wasn’t keen this morning!   I’ll get out my phone to sort out some dates.”   Kath is now quite certain her conclusions are correct.
Sioned is looking rather more relazed
Sioned now appears to be quite happy during their film night, but Tesni wants to get on with the next film.
"Man-size tissues for DJ?"
“Have we got a box of man-size tissues for DJ?” enquires Mathew.
Eileen sits alone in the Deri
Eileen is sitting sadly in the Deri, and tells Kath that she is waiting for Eifion;
"Sorry about earlier"
“Listen, I’m sorry about earlier,” Kath begins, “Although I didn’t have half as much fun with Arwen as Ffion and Rhys had!
"At it like rabbits?"
“They’ve been at it like rabbits all afternoon!   These youngsters have no shame –
"But it must be nice, though!"
“but it must be nice, though!”
"It's bonkers, Ty!"
Iolo regards the renewal of wedding vows as, “Bonkers!”
"What's wrong with doing things differently?"
but Tyler wonders what is wrong with doing things differently.
"I can be exciting sometimes"
He maintains they all need some excitement sometimes.   Iolo replies, “I can be exciting sometimes.”
"You mean everything to me, Iol!"   (– except when Aled is around)
He is told by Tyler that Iolo means everything to him, and he is sorry if he has been made to feel otherwise;
"Let's do it!"
“Let’s do it – we’ll renew our wedding vows – seriously!”
They hug
and they hug.
