"Lilian enjoyed her cockles"
Colin cautiously approaches Britt as she sweeps up outside the chippy, and tells her, “Lilian enjoyed her cockles –
"I was going to order a takeaway"
“I was going to order a takeaway for us tonight, if you fancy it.”
"I'm working in the Deri tonight"
She points out that she will be working in the Deri tonight, but he is sure Garry can sort something out;  “Come on, you and me, cwtching on the sofa with a poppadom each.”
"Will you be voting for Hywel?"
Before Britt can reply, Lisa approaches and wishes them, “Good evening – will you be voting for Hywel?   He’s the best candidate.”
"We're not very interested in politics"
Colin tells her that they are not very interested in politics, so she walks away, and Britt accuses Colin of acting oddly.
"She, er, Melissa, was the . . ."
“OK, “I don’t want you to hear it from anyone else, but she – er – ‘Melissa’, was the –
". . . prostitute I was seeing"
“prostitute I was seeing,” he explains, just as Madge is walking past, and gives him a funny look.
They think it wise to continue the conversation insode
Britt drags him into the chippy and demands that if they were just talking,
Colin seems to be lost for words
why did he behave so strangely.
“Oh, just go home, Colin – I’ve got work to do!” she snarls.
Garry is searching number 9 . . .
Garry has come in through the back door of number 9, and is conducting a search;
. . . and goes through the drawers
he looks though some drawers,
The sound of a barking dog troubles him
and when a dog starts to bark outside, he looks anxious.
Sioned has thrown another party . . .
It appears that Sioned has organised another party, as the shop flat is crowded with young people, drinking;  she is sending a text message,
. . . and is after more drugs
which reads, “When can I get more?”
"We were going to watch the football tonight"
DJ complains that he and Mathew had planned to watch football tonight, and she says that she is not stopping them, but DJ protests that he cannot even find the telly.
He sits by Tesni
He sits down on the sofa by Tesni,
Guto seems to be 'knocking them back'
while Guto accidentally bumps into Sioned, and apologises.
"You're not working on that app again?"
He tells Tesni, “Don’t say you’re working on that Milltir Sgwar app again?” but she explains that she is just checking it.   “I’m fed up with you going on about that app!” he grumbles, “Is Luned here?”
"She's at her Gran's birthday party"
Tesni reminds him that Luned is at her grandmother’s birthday party, which she told him about yesterday;  “If you’re going to whinge, you might as well go home!”
"With Mam and Dad, 'loved-up' on the sofa?   No thanks!"
He does not fancy the thought of Mam and Dad ‘loved-up’ on the sofa.
"Sorry, did I frighten you?"
Garry has extended his search upstairs in number 9, but when he comes down, Gwyneth is there and asks, “Did you find it?   Sorry, did I frighten you?”
He makes up a story of a missing file
Garry rapidly concocts a tale about Gwern losing a file.   She tells him to stop lying;  “You don’t think I’d leave £30,000 lying around, did you?”
"If you insist on staying, I want my money back!"
Again he reminds her that they had a deal;  “If you insist on staying, I want my money back!”
"You're pathetic and naïve, Garry!"
Gwyneth describes him as pathetic and naïve – and accuses him of losing his touch.
"Has your solicitor been in touch?"
“Has your solicitor been in touch?” he wonders, “The salon has officially been sold – Dani and I have had the keys.   We want you out by the end of the month.   You can check if you want, but we’re within our rights.”
"I've come into some money, you see"
Gwyneth considers that will be no problem;  “I’ve come into some money, you see – just enough to buy the lease of the salon in Llanarthur.   It’s strange how things fall into place, isn’t it?” she grins.
"Don't think you've heard the last of this!"
On his way out, Garry warns her, “Don’t think you’ve heard the last of this!”
Hywel looks at his Facebook page
Hywel is in the CwmFM studio looking at his Facebook page about the election, as Lisa brings him a cup of tea.
He is disappointed by the response
“Not nearly enough people have contributed comments on this,” he groans.   She suspects that is because most of his supporters are over 60 and do not understand how to use social media.
"You could record a 30-second clip"
He has the idea, “You could write something for me – or even better, you could record a 30-second clip, telling everyone why I’m the best candidate.”
"I'd struggle to fill ten seconds, Hywel!"
She laughs that she would struggle to fill ten seconds, but he goes on, “As I remember it, you could sell a G-string to a monk!”
An alert pops up on the screen . . .
Then a message pops up on his screen about the missing schoolgirl;  “The police want me to put out an appeal now –
. . . and the 'missing' poster
“some 13-year-old girl has gone missing.   She’s a pupil at Cwmderi School.   I’ll have to prepare another bulletin now, won’t I?” he grumbles.
"Don't let the Council members hear you saying that"
“Don’t let the Council members hear you moan about helping the police,” warns Lisa,
"And you can record that clip"
and he asks if she could record that 30-second clip for him while he does it.
"It's going to cost you!"
“It’s going to cost you!” she advises, “See you later!”
Sioned threatens to take her custom elsewhere . . .
At the party, Sioned is becoming impatient, and sends another text, demanding, “Where’s the stuff?   Or do I have to look somewhere else?”
. . . and is informed that the matter is being dealt with
A reply arrives, saying that they will try to sort something out as soon as possible.
Sioned fails in her attempt to chat up a couple of boys
She tries to chat up two boys, Dan and Joe, but they do not seem interested.
So Dan the barman has not left the village
We see that another Dan, the former barman at the Deri, is also at the party, as Tesni enquires about the location of the B4298 [between Carmarthen and Meidrim], where Mathew has broken down,
"Perhaps your Dad could fetch him"
and DJ says it may take a while for the breakdown crew to reach him, unless her Dad could go to fetch him.   However, she predicts that her father will be on his third can by now.
"At least the booze is free here!"
DJ would prefer to go to the Deri, but Guto points out that at least the booze is free at this party – and he appears to have consumed quite a bit of it himself.
"She's at her Gran's party"
As he goes in search of more, Sioned asks where his girlfriend is tonight, and he tells her about her Gran’s party;
"You need to find a woman with a bit more go in her!"
“You need to find a woman with a bit more go in her, I’d say,” Sioned suggests, “Come and dance with me!”
"I shall have to teach you, then!"
When he protests that he cannot dance, she replies that she will have to teach him, and Guto looks rather uncomfortable.
Dani shouts for Garry
In the Deri flat, Dani is becoming irritable and shouts downstairs;  “Garry, I’m not calling you again!”
"Have you been drinking, Garry?"
When he comes up, she asks if he has been drinking,
"Well, it is Saturday night!"
and he reminds her that it is Saturday night.
"Right, what's going on?"
“OK, I haven’t got the patience to go through this again,” she continues, “So what’s going on?”
He groans that Gwyneth has got inside his head, but Dani consoles him, “She’ll be gone before long – you have told her that she has to leave the salon, haven’t you?”
She can tell by his expression that something is wrong,
"I gave her £30,000 to leave – and she's still here!"
and he explains, “I gave her £30,000 to leave Cwmderi – and she’s still here!”
"You gave her what?"
“You gave her what?” Dani shouts incredulously, and he explains he just wanted her out of their lives, and that she is going to use the money to rent a salon in Llanarthur.   Dani laughs, and demands what he is going to do about it;  “Sort her out, Garry!” she snarls, “I’m serious!”
"She's a bit out of Guto's league!"
The music at the party appears to be getting louder, and DJ remarks, “She’s a bit out of Guto’s league!”   Tesni adds that he also has a girlfriend.
"Has someone ordered pizza?"
Sioned’s phone rings, and apparently someone has ordered pizza;  it was Tesni, and before she goes downstairs to get it,
"We could eat it at home, Guto!"
she suggests to Guto that they could eat it at home, but he does not want to go.
“Your sister’s annoying, isn’t she?” Sioned remarks,
Sioned the man-killer moves in on Guto
and kisses him;
"I've never been with a geek before!"
“I’ve never been with a geek before!” she says, and wastes no time,
He is led, like a lamb to the slaughter
but leads him to the bedroom.
"Not again, Garry!"
There is a knock at Gwyneth’s door, and she expects that it is Garry;
A package is thrust through the door . . .
however, a brown envelope is thrust into her hand and the door is shut.
. . . it contains pills . . .
She looks inside to find a large quantity of pills
. . . Gwyneth's instructions . . .
and a note which reads, “You’re doing deliveries from now on;  no argument.”
. . . and a mobile phone with six messages
It is accompanied by a small mobile phone which she finds has has six messages.
She finds this rather disturbing
She does not look at all pleased with this development.
Lisa reviews her video
In the Deri, Lisa is looking at the video clip she has recorded;  “After all, Cwmderi is close to all our hearts – that’s why I’m trusting Hywel Llywelyn to look after my best interests.   So why don’t you join me, and vote for Hywel Llywelyn?”
"Does Hywel Llywelyn know a prostitute is canvassing for him?"
Britt is collecting up glasses, and enquires, “Does Hywel Llywelyn know that a prostitute is canvassing for him?   Don’t bother denying it – Colin’s told me everything.”
"All Colin wanted to do was talk"
Lisa makes it quite clear that all Colin wanted to do it was talk.
"He thinks the world of you – Colin is one of the good guys"
“He thinks the world of you – and you know it,” she goes on, and Britt sits down;  “I see all kinds – Colin’s one of the good guys – he needs you.   He just said he is missing your chats.”
"I haven't thought about how Colin is coping"
Britt admits that she has been so busy worrying about herself, she has not thought about Colin and how he is coping.
“Partners are supposed to support each other,” she insists,
"You're being too hard on yourself"
but Lisa says she is being too hard on herself.
"Why are you doing this . . .work?"
“Why are you doing this?” she demands, and Lisa explains that she needs the money;
"The fees at Brynawelon are expensive"
her mother is in Brynawelon, and the fees are expensive.
"Thanks for being there for Colin"
“Well, thanks for being there for Colin – I’m glad she could talk to someone,” says Britt as Lisa gets up to leave,
"You just need to talk to each other"
and advises that they just need to talk to each other.   She would appreciate if Britt did not say anything about this conversation.
Tesni will kill Guto, if Sioned does not get there first
DJ has had enough of the party and informs Tesni that he is off to the Deri;  she says that she is going to kill Guto, and he adds, “Unless Sioned does it first!”
Guto has not finished getting dressed
Just then Guto returns with Sioned, and is still doing up his shirt.
Tesni is quite adamant that they are leaving, although Guto is very reluctant;
Tesni forcibly berates Sioned
“You’re pathetic!   You need to sort yourself out!” she tells Sioned,
Guto is propelled out of the flat
and bundles her brother out of the flat.
The drug delivery system is back up and running
A message arrives on Sioned’s phone;  “Drop off at the bench in five minutes,” so she goes downstairs.
Garry happens to be leaving the Deri, when he sees . . .
Garry has just come out of the Deri
. . . Gwyneth hurrying across to the alley
and notices Gwyneth walking across the road from number 9 into the alley,
Sioned is standing there . . .
where Sioned is standing, looking at her phone.
. . . allegedly waiting for a friend
“I’m waiting for a friend – we’re having a party upstairs,” says Sioned.
"You're not waiting for a package, are you?"
Gwyneth looks very concerned;  “You’re not waiting for a package, are you?   You’re not a customer?” she asks, and Sioned wonders what she is doing there, but is warned not to ask.
The transaction takes place . . .
The transaction takes place, with Gwyneth advising, “Just keep quiet about this, and I’ll keep quiet about you.”
. . . and Garry is listening in
By this time, Garry is eavesdropping on this conversation,
"Where's the girl I usually deal with?"
as Sioned asks where Jamie is – the girl she usually deals with.
"I knew there was something wrong"
When Gwyneth confirms that she is missing, and knew that something was wrong,
Garry listens with interest
Garry is piecing together the story.
"I saw this woman, Kirsty, with red curly hair"
“I saw this woman, Kirsty, throwing Jamie into the back of a van last week, she has curly red hair, and is the boss, I’m sure,” Sioned continues,
"That's Jessie, the boss – you'd better keep your head down!"
and is told that her name is really Jessie and that she is the boss.   Gwyneth warns that Sioned must keep her head down, and hurries back home to number 9.
Garry can make use of this information
Garry is pleased he has gleaned this information, which he considers will prove very useful.
Tesni grabs Guto's phone from him
Back at number 10, Guto is trying to contact Luned, to confess what he has done, but is prevented by Tesni, who judges that it is not good idea.
"You'll thank me in the morning"
“You’ll thank me in the morning,” she assures him.
"Sioned took advantage of me!"
He protests that Sioned took advantage of him,
"You knew exactly what you were doing!"
but is told, “You knew exactly what you were doing!”   He is devastated and wonders what he is going to say to Luned.   “Nothing,” says his sister, “If you tell her, she’ll dump you – is that what you want?”
Hywel is very complimentary about the video
Lisa shows Hywel the video she has recorded, which he says is excellent, and just what he wanted;
"Respectable?" – we shall see about that
“Young, attractive, respectable – I can’t wait to see what Anita has to say about this!”
"How are you going to repay me?"
She cannot wait to see how he will repay her for this favour, and he suggests they can go somewhere special on results night;  “That way, I can either celebrate being elected, or drown my sorrows.”
"Good luck with the canvassing"
She is looking forward to it, and wishes him good luck with the canvassing.
"You sounded a bit sharp on the phone"
Colin comes to the Deri, having been urgently summoned by Britt;
"Getting arrested for talking to a prostitute!"
“Only you could get yourself in such a pickle, Col,” she begins, “Getting arrested for talking to a prostitute –
"I got the truth – without paying a penny!"
“I got the truth out of Lisa – and without paying a penny!   But tell me the truth, Col, why?”
"I thought I'd lost you, Britt . . ."
He is rather shamefaced as he replies, “Well, I thought that I’d lost you, Britt – your company, your advice, and I was heartbroken.
". . . and I didn't want to break your heart"
“And I didn’t know how to tell you without breaking your heart!”
"Come and discuss it with me next time, OK?"
Tears are coming to Britt’s eyes, as she instructs him, “Promise me, Colin, next time you feel like that, come and discuss it with me, OK?
"I'm much cheaper!"
“I’m much cheaper!”
"And you're prettier, too"
He maintains that she is much prettier too.
"It might not be too late to have that takeaway"
“Hey, it might not be too late to have that takeaway after all,” she says, and he looks very encouraged.
"I was stupid – and drunk!"
Tesni demands, “Have you sobered up?” and Guto admits that he was stupid and drunk.   She wonders why he did it, and he does not know the answer;
"I thought you liked Luned"
“I thought you liked Luned.”
"Things haven't been great recently"
He insists that he really does like her, but things have not been great recently;  he feels that Luned prefers his sister’s company to his,
"That's ridiculous!"
but she says that is ridiculous.
"I'm just an afterthought"
“When she comes over, it is to see you – and I’m just an afterthought.   I’m her boyfriend!” he wails, but Tesni calls him paranoid,
"We have been busy with the app"
pointing out that they have been really busy with the Milltir Sgwar app recently, but she knows Luned really likes him.
“She doesn’t stop going on and on about you,” Tesni adds,
"I'm an idiot, Tes!"
and he realises that he is an idiot.   Then his phone sounds, and a text reveals that Luned has seen his missed call.
"Do you think someone will say something?"
“Do you think someone will say something?” he panics;  Tesni confirms that she will not, and Sioned is unlikely to say anything, so if he keeps his mouth shut, everything will be fine.   He protests, “That doesn’t feel right, Tes.”
"Sleeping with Sioned isn't right either – but you did it anyway!"
“Sleeping with Sioned isn’t right – but you did it anyway!” she emphasises, “You’ve made a mistake – deal with it!   Just don’t do it again!”
Garry assures Dani that he retrieved the money
Dani has been waiting for Garry to return, and when he does so, he reports, “Everything’s sorted – the back door was open, so I went in and got it.”
"Keeping all that cash in the house?"
Dani is surprised that all that cash was in the house – and would have thought that Gwyneth would be a bit more careful.   He says that Gwyneth has always been rather sloppy.
"Did you really think she wouldn't keep the money?"
“I can’t believe you were so stupid,” Dani continues, “Did you really think she wouldn’t keep the money?
"We've got everything we wanted"
“Listen, she’ll be out of the salon by the end of the month – Gwern’s living here full-time – we’ve got the cash back.   We’ve got everything we want!”
Garry knows otherwise
Garry, however does not look as jubilant as her, and says he will come to bed shortly.
