Garry runs through the woods
Garry is off on another of his runs,
His legs are not used to it
which are beginning to take their toll on his legs, and as he goes through the woods,
He witnesses the meeting between Tyler and Aled
he notices in the distance Tyler talking to Aled.   He is unable to hear what they are saying.
"Things have gone too far, Aled!"
“I know I hurt your feelings, and I’m sorry, but things have gone too far,” Tyler begins, “The police won’t believe you, so you might as well retract your accusation.”
"The date on the photo proves it"
Aled replies that no way is he doing that, even when Tyler explains to him, “The date on the photo proves you weren’t in school then – you could get into trouble for wasting police time!”
“Look, if you say it was a mistake they will understand – come on, Aled,” he continues,
"You're wasting your time – I'm not leaving Iol!"
and when he receives no reply, shouts, “Why are you doing this?   Are we supposed to be together?   If that’s it, you’re wasting your time – I’m not leaving Iol!”
"So why did you sleep with me?"
Aled demands, “So why did you sleep with me?”
"It was just a moment of weakness"
and Tyler describes it as a moment of weakness.   He adds that Aled is good-looking and a great person, who will make a nice boyfriend for someone – but not him.
"But it's you I want!"
“But it’s you I want!” Aled insists, and Tyler is sorry that he let things go too far,
"Just retract the accusation"
but begs him, for both their sakes, to retract the accusation.   “I don’t know if I can,” Aled concludes, but is encouraged to do so by Tyler.
Aled walks away . . .
As Aled walks away from him, Garry is still watching from his vantage point
. . . and Garry does not like this situation
and looking very angry;
Tyler gets out his phone
Tyler gets out his phone.
Sioned is helping out at Penrhewl
Sioned is at Penrhewl, helping Eifion, and suddenly notices a yellow sports car parked outside the farm;
"I didn't know we were expecting someone"
“I didn’t know we were expecting someone,” he says, and Sioned maintains that whoever it is, she wants a ride.
"I'm glad you like it – but no touching!'
Jim comes out of the house and comments, “I’m glad you like it – but no touching!   It’s an early Christmas present for myself.
"It will be a nice surprise for your mother"
“Your mother doesn’t know, but it will be a nice surprise for her!”   Sioned suspects that her mother will be far from pleased, as Jim prepares to drive away.
Izzy is suffering from the after-effects of last night
Colin, dressed as half a cracker, is serving in the shop, and remarks to Eileen, “I bet this one has a long Christmas list, guaranteed,” as Izzy walks in.   She just wants vitamins, not a lecture from her father,
"Overdone it on the pop, have you?"
so he assumes she has, “Overdone it on the pop!”   She explains she was out with old college friends,
"I'm skint again this year"
and that she is skint again this year.
Colin has decided to create lots of special things this year for Britt and himself;
"A playlist of carols that mean a lot to us"
“That includes a playlist of carols – some that mean a lot to us, and because you can’t afford to buy me a nice present, perhaps you can help by choosing your favourite carol.   What was that carol we used to sing as a family, all four of us?   We had harmonies and everything – it had a nice tune – not Silent Night.”
"Sleep, my little one, sleep until morning comes"
He croons, “Sleep, sleep my little one, sleep until morning comes.   Come on Iz, you’ve got a nice alto voice.”
Izzy is not in the mood for singing
Izzy takes the opportunity to escape from the shop.
"Aren't you packing for your holiday?"
Britt arrives at the Deri, and is surprised that Garry and Dani are not packing for their holiday in America;
"If you know of a fairy godmother . . ."
“We’ve decided to cancel the holiday – or postpone it until the summer,” Dani tells her.   Britt wonders how they are going to organise Christmas, and Dani sighs, “If you know of a fairy godmother, send her over.”
Britt will organise a festive meal
Britt readily agrees that she will organise everything;  “Crackers, turkey, the job lot!” and Dani is very appreciative, so Britt rushes out to get started.
"I have to get ready for the Craft Fair tomorrow"
Hywel comes in and is told by Dani that she needs some help to get ready for the Craft Fair tomorrow;
"No, it's on Thursday!"
“No, it’s on Thursday!” he informs her, but Dani has been working on the information she was given in the e-mail.   “It says Thursday on the posters!” Hywel protests.
"I had to turn the Rotary Club away because of this blinkin' Craft Fair!'
Dani points out to him, “I’ve got Merched y Wawr here on Thursday, and they like their wine – I can’t change that now as I had to turn the Rotary Club away because of this blinking Craft Fair!”   Hywel tells her to send him a copy of the e-mail and he will sort it out.
Sioned is looking forward to her mother's reaction . . .
Sioned sees Eileen driving back into the farmyard and calls to Eifion;
. . . and is ready to record the altercation
she gets out her camera to record Eileen’s reaction to this sports car, which Jim is lovingly polishing.
"What on earth is this, Jim?"
“What on earth is this?” she asks,
"Something for us to enjoy – while we still can!"
and he informs her it is a little present that they can enjoy together, while they can.
They find this rather puzzling
She assures him that she is not angry, which comes as great disappointment to Sioned.   Eileen agrees to go for a spin with him after she has finished the hampers.   “Well, this can only mean one thing,” says Sioned to Eifion, “They’ve won the lottery!”
It will take more than vitamin tablets to cure this
At Llwyncelyn, Izzy is trying to sort herself out with the vitamin tablets when Hywel comes in
"I feel better than you look!"
and comments that he feels better than she looks.   “That paperwork can wait!”
"The booking you made is for tomorrow!"
he tells her, “The booking you’ve made in the Deri for the Craft Fair is for tomorrow!”   Izzy insists that it is Thursday, but on looking at Hywel’s iPad can see her mistake, which he is adamant she has to sort out;  “Change the poster, and make sure the stallholders can come!”
She wants to change the date with Dani but he points out that is impossible;
"Your negligence caused this mess!"
“And don’t you dare try and change the location – your negligence caused this mess, so you can sort it out!
Izzy looks a pathetic sight
“You can start by having a coffee to set your head straight!”
"You should have told Iolo!"
Dani berates Tyler, “You should have told Iolo!”
"Look, I've been to meet Aled"
He points out that he has been to meet Aled, which infuriates her;
"What would the police say?"
“What would the police say?”
Tyler is optimistic;  “That’s the thing, see – I think he’s going to drop the charges. He hadn’t thought it through, so it could be over by Christmas!”
"I hope you're right – for everyone's sake!"
Dani hopes that he is right, for everyone’s sake.
Garry comes limping in
Garry comes in, limping from his exertions, and Dani remarks, “I knew this would happen – you’re too old for this nonsense, Garry,” and this time he agrees with her.
"I've got to go and pick up Greta"
Tyler leaves to pick up Greta, and Garry enquires what he wanted;  “A chat,” is her reply.
"Something to do with the fact he met Aled?"
“Something to do with the fact he met Aled?” Garry continues, “What’s going on, Dan?
"I saw them up in Coed y Mynach earlier"
“I saw him with Aled up in Coed y Mynach earlier.”
"Tyler thinks Aled will drop the charges"
She enlightens him that Tyler thinks that Aled will drop the charges, and Garry assumes that Tyler is paying him to do so.
“No, Tyler made him realise things are better this way – it’s complicated,” she snaps,
Dani explains everything to Garry
and goes on to explain, “Aled took a photo of himself in Tyler’s bed – which proves he wasn’t a pupil when they . . . He broke into the house, OK?”
"Did Tyler sleep with Aled?"
Garry asks, “Did Tyler sleep with Aled?   Oh, Dan!   You do realise how serious this is?”
"Please don't tell anyone, Garry"
She does, and pleads with him not to tell anyone;  he looks very concerned.
It is Cae Glas Christmas hamper time
At Penrhewl, the packing of Christmas hampers is in progress, accompanied by carols on the radio.   Sioned asks if they are going to have a party to celebrate, but Eifion considers that they are the type of people who will keep it private.
"Driving a yellow sports car isn't keeping it quiet!"
“Driving a yellow sports car isn’t keeping it quiet!” she argues,
"Keeping what quiet?"

and Eileen wonders what they are supposed be keeping quiet.
“The lottery – how much have you won?” Sioned demands, “It must be more than five figures if you’ve bought that car!”   When her mother denies any lottery win, Sioned says that it must be the Premium Bonds, so Jim emphasises that they have not won anything.
"The car this week, and Pembrokeshire last week"
However, Sioned is convinced that something is going on;  “The car this week, and it was a break to Pembrokeshire last week!”   Eileen urges her to get on with the hampers.
"Isn't Carys, Porthrhyd a vegan?"
“Isn’t Carys, Porthrhyd a vegan?” she asks, “She doesn’t want paté, does she?” and Eileen discovers the wrong orders are going in the hampers.   It is realised that Jim has put on the wrong labels.
"Someone's playing tricks on me"
He maintains that someone is playing tricks on him;  “Or you’re in a rush to drive that car!” Eifion suggests.
"I shifted some hampers around, Jim"
Eileen takes the blame, alleging that she shifted a few hampers around to make room.
"We shall have to go through them again now!"
“We shall have to go through them all again now,” Sioned moans, but her mother is confident it will not take long;  she says she is desperate to go for a ride in the new car,
"Enjoy yourselves – and thanks for the help!"
and Sioned sarcastically comments, “Enjoy yourselves – and thanks for the help!”
"Perhaps Jim will take you for a ride later, if you're lucky!"
“Perhaps Jim will take you for a ride later, if you’re lucky,” her mother says as they leave.   Sioned is now even more certain that something is going on there,
"They're just enjoying themselves"
but Eifion replies that they are just enjoying themselves.
"Izzy wants me urgently!"
Then his phone rings, and Eifion is urgently summoned by Izzy;
"Smile, Cinderella!"
“It will only take you half an hour – smile, Cinderella!” he says.
"You need a hot bath for that leg!"
Garry sits, brooding, in the flat, as Dani recommends he should have a hot bath for his leg;  “Not until we sort out what we are going to do about Tyler,” he tells her.
"We're not going to do anything, Garry!"
She makes it clear they are not going to do anything,
"What he did was abuse!"
but Garry points out, “What he did was abuse!”
Dani refutes this, arguing that Tyler was not Aled’s teacher when they slept together;  Garry wonders why she is defending him,
"But Tyler is my brother!"
and she explains that Tyler is her brother.   “Moc was your father – you didn’t defend him!” Garry snarls,
"He's a paedophile!"
“They’re exactly the same – he’s a paedophile!”
"Aled knew what he was doing"
“Aled’s an adult –he knew what he was doing!” Dani protests, but Garry stresses that she does not know that.
"They could have been having an affair for months"
“They could have been having an affair for months – while Aled was still his pupil,” but Dani refuses to accept that, convinced that Tyler would have told her.   “So why did Aled go to the police then?” Garry demands.
“He wanted to get his own back on Tyler for refusing to leave Iolo,” she argues, but Garry is adamant they cannot just forget about this.
"I'm not a fan of the police, but we have to tell them!"
“I’m not a fan of the police, but we have to tell them!” he insists.   Dani shouts at him to leave things alone for once in his life.
Izzy installs an updated poster at the chippy
In the chippy, Izzy takes down the Craft Fair poster and replaces it with an amended one;
"Dani is being totally unreasonable!"
Eifion arrives, and wonders why the SOS this time.   She accuses Dani of being totally unreasonable;  “Now I have to rearrange everything for tomorrow!   Its the Myrddin Food Festival tomorrow,
"I've lost three stalls already!'
“so I’ve lost three stalls – please say that Penrhewl will be available.”
"Iori always has some tinsel to sell"
He will sort something out, and suggests that Iori always has some tinsel to sell.   Izzy describes it as ‘tat’;  “That’s not the type of stallholder we want.”
"What do you want?  Wool and Welsh Cakes?"
Britt has come to the door of the chip shop, and asks, “What kind do you want?   Nice ones that sell wool and Welsh cakes?   I need some tinsel – I may pop over if Iori’s lucky enough to have a stall.
"I'll give you Iori's number"
Izzy reluctantly accepts that she will have to contact him.
"I know you don't want to think of Tyler like this"
In the Deri flat, Garry brings Dani a drink;  “I know you don’t want to think of Tyler like this – but he took advantage of a person –
"I know how it feels to be used like that!"
“you have to think of Aled, and how it has affected him.   I know how it feels to be used like that – we have to help this Aled and do the right thing.”
She continues to argue that it is not the same, and knows that Garry is worried about Aled;
"How many lives will be destroyed?"
“But how many lives will be destroyed if we go to the police?   Tyler, Iolo, Greta?”
"What about the other schoolchildren?"
He answers, “What about the other school children?   We have a responsibility towards them.”
"This was a one-off – he won't do it again"
She stresses that this was a one-off and Tyler will not do it again.   Garry will go and get changed, as the school governors will be arriving before long.
Colin and Gaynor remember Christmas carols
Outside the shop, Gaynor and Colin are reminiscing about Christmas carols;
"Whispering wind"
they sing,
“Whispering wind, whispering wind
As it goes past the door,
And Mary on her straw bed.”
Hywel is passing, and says that was one of his favourites;  Britt remarks that they could make a fortune singing from door-to-door.
"Better than that Craft Fair shambles!"
“Why doesn’t Yr Antur organise that, Hywel?   It would be better than this Craft Fair shambles!”
Gaynor is troubled about that
Gaynor is troubled to hear that Izzy has made a mess of the arrangements, but then there is the sound of a car horn,
Jim's new acquisition rolls into town
and Jim’s new sports car arrives in the High Street, attracting a lot of attention.
"Who says there's no money in farming?"
“Who says there’s no money in farming?” Britt demands.
"Sandwich for you, Izzy!"
At Llwyncelyn, Eifion has prepared a sandwich for Izzy and has to go back to work now;
Izzy will try her hand at candle-making
she will also be busy this afternoon as she is going to make some candles to sell at the fair.   “At least that will fill one additional table,” she groans, and seeing his sceptical expression, assures him,
"I used to muck around when I was in school"
“I used to muck around when I was in school – it will be great!”
"What's this I hear about the Craft Fair?"
Then her mother returns, and addresses her as, “Esyllt!” so she know something is wrong.   “What’s this I hear about the Craft Fair?”   Izzy describes it as merely a technical hitch;  “A ‘mess’ is what I heard!” Gaynor snarls.
"Been listening to Hywel, have you?"
Izzy can see that she has been listening to Hywel.
"I was so embarrassed!
“I was so embarrassed!” Gaynor goes on, picking up the file which she was looking for.   Izzy points out that she made one mistake, and that everything is now under control.   “At this rate you won’t have a job in the new year!” predicts Gaynor.
"And her blinkin' boyfriend!"
Izzy determines to prove her mother wrong;  “And her blinkin’ boyfriend!”
Tyler is 'chatting up' one of the governors
The school governors are gathering in the Deri for their Christmas party, and Tyler takes the opportunity of expressing his gratitude to one of them for her support of him;
"Let's hope that it's all over soon"
“Let’s hope that it’s all over soon – hopefully, we’ll have some good news before long.”
Garry is prevented from giving his opinion
When Tyler goes to the bar, Garry comments, “You sound confident,” and is about to tell him a few home truths when Dani intervenes, and he informs her that he is taking Iolo and Greta to watch a film.
"Crawling to the important people, is it?"
“So what are you doing here – crawling to the important people, is it?” Garry demands, and Tyler concedes that he needs as much help as possible.
"We have to talk to the police, Dan"
When he has gone, Garry is even more convinced that they have to talk to the police.
"Look, I've already got one brother in jail!'
Dani stresses, “Look Garry, I’ve already got one brother in jail – I don’t know what I’d do if something happened to Tyler, too.   Another governor arrives, and is shown to the table by Dani.
"I wanted to speak to you and Iolo"
Tyler is about to go into number 7, when Britt comes running across the road;  “I wanted to speak to you and Iolo,” she says, “Dani and Garry aren’t going to America now, so I’m cooking Christmas lunch for the whole family, right?
"Midday at the Deri on Christmas Day"
“So, midday at the Deri on Christmas Day – can I make a place names for you, Iolo and Greta?”
"No shopping and no cooking – count us in!"
Tyler likes the idea of no shopping and no cooking, and thanks her for the invitation.
The governors are enjoying themselves
The governors’ celebration is in full swing, and behind the bar Dani says that this is not the place to discuss it;  “
"What if the governors overhear us?"
What if the governors overhear us?”
"This is exactly the right place to discuss it"
Garry, on the other hand, suggests that this is exactly the right place to discuss it.
"I just want a nice Christmas for once!"
“Can we just wait until the New Year before deciding on anything?” she continues, “I just want a nice Christmas for once – is that too much to ask?”
"Who knows what I'll do?"
He agrees;  “But I’m telling you now – keep him well away from me!   I don’t want to be in the same room as him, or who knows what I’ll do?”
Dani takes more drinks to the governors
Dani takes a tray of glasses over to the governors.
