"I know your track record with women!"
As they come out of the door of number 10, Jaclyn is telling Dylan, “I know your track record with women,” but he insists that Sara is different.   “I’ve heard that before!” she exclaims.   He maintains that he loves Sara, and is met by the response, “What – just like Bethan?”
Sara hugs him
Then Sara approaches them, and as Dylan hugs her, Jaclyn walks off disapprovingly;
Then he kisses her
“I’ve got things to do, but then I’ll pick you up from the café in half an hour,” Dylan says.   He kisses her,
"Do you have to?"
and Guto, who also emerges from number 10, expresses his disgust.
"Don't you have any shame?"
When Sara turns round, she finds Diane, by the shop door, glowering at her;  “Don’t you have any shame?” she demands.
"I'm not going to get her back by feeling sorry for myself!"
At Bryntirion, as he prepares their breakfast, Jason is telling DJ, “I’m not going to get Sara back by feeling sorry for myself, am I?
"She'll be back here by Christmas!"
“I’m going to get her back by thinking positively – positive thoughts and nothing else!   You watch – she’ll be back here by Christmas!”
Jason is having problems with that ketchup
Then his mother returns from the shop with a bottle of milk, and DJ informs her that Jason thinks Sara will be back before Christmas;  “I don’t think it – I know!   Anything’s possible!” Jason confidently asserts.
"Sara's never going to come back"
His mother is of the opposite opinion;  “Sara’s never going to come back – and the sooner you accept that, the sooner that you can move on with your life, for everyone’s sake!”
"I haven't touched it – you can have it!"
This causes Jason to lose his appetite, and he tells his mother she can eat his breakfast, because he has not touched it, and storms off upstairs.
"He needed to know, Diane"
DJ sympathises with her;  “He needed to know,” he says.
Colin is videoing birthday messages for Garry . . .
In the shop, Colin is recording birthday messages for Garry on his phone,
. . . but they are interrupted by Dani
and is just videoing Ffion when Dani rushes in.   Ffion finds it rather offputting speaking in front of an audience,
"I'll look the other way, then"
so Dani turns away,
"Happy birthday, Garry!"
but when Ffion begins speaking,
"Can't you sound more enthusiastic?"
cannot resist commenting that she does not sound very enthusiastic there.
Colin gives Dani a telling-off . . .
Colin imagines that Dani’s presence is putting her off;  “You’re in and out of here every five minutes, sticking your nose in,” he moans, “I told you, I’m sorting the video out!”   Dani insists that he has to make sure people do not all say the same thing, and calls for confirmation from Ffion,
. . . and Ffion takes the opportunity to leave
but during their argument, she has already left the shop.
"Jason doesn't want to talk"
DJ reports to Diane that Jason does not want to talk, and she realises that she should have kept her mouth shut.
"Hasn't anyone been working at the gym?"
Then Dai comes in;  “I just called in at the gym – things haven’t moved on much.   Hasn’t anyone been working while I’ve been away?”
"You'd better tell him, Diane"
DJ recommends that Diane has to tell him the truth;
"That's because Rhys has sacked us!"
at that moment Jason comes downstairs to make the announcement, “No-one’s working at the gym because Rhys has sacked us!”
"Crikey Moses!"
Dai exclaims with feeling, “Crikey Moses!   I go away for a few days, and what happens?   Nothing’s been done there!
"Look here, Pharaoh . . ."
“Heavens above – now look here, Pharaoh!   It’s about time you separated your private life from the company’s business – do you hear me?
". . . there's only so much I can do!"
“There’s only so much I can do to get you out of the mess you keep creating!”
"We're seeing if it's good enough for us"
Dylan has taken Sara to a rather sumptuous house, and she wonders what they are doing there;  “Seeing if it’s good enough for us,” he replies.   Looking at the house details, she points out the exorbitant price,
"It's fantastic, Dylan!"
but he simply invites her to come and see the kitchen, which she finds most impressive,
Dylan grins smugly
and he looks extremely pleased with himself.
"Rhys sacked you – not me!"
Dai has gone straight to Cysgod y Glyn, where Ffion tells him there is no point complaining to her;  “Rhys sacked you – not me – but he is on a course until tomorrow.”
"I guarantee the job will be finished by January!"
Dai guarantees that the job will be finished by January, and he will be on that treadmill himself.
"We won't be able to find another builder"
She concedes that they will not be able to find another builder who can do the work immediately, and Dai comments that Rhys is lucky to have her as a business partner;  “Everyone can see you’re the brains!”   She answers that once Rhys has made a decision, there is no changing it.
"Jason won't be anywhere near the job!"
“Look, I promise you that Jason won’t be anywhere near the job – he’s out! Dai assures her,
"I feel sorry for Jason!"

but Ffion feels sorry for Jason.   “I’ve just given him a talking to!” Dai growls, and she considers that he is being too hard on Jason.
Dai starts to appreciate what Jason is going through
“It’s hard enough just getting out of bed in the morning, never mind facing the world when you’ve been hurt like that,” Ffion says, from bitter experience,

"I'll have a word with Rhys – but I can't promise anything"
“I’ll do my best, OK – I’ll have a word with Rhys, but I can’t promise anything.”
"A nice barbecue area here!"
Out in the garden of the new house, Dylan proposes getting rid of the greenhouse and having a nice barbecue area, so they can invite everyone over.
"There aren't many people we can invite round, are there?"
Sara muses, “There aren’t many people we can invite round, are there?   Jaclyn was all right earlier, wasn’t she?   She seemed a bit odd.”
"And you passed the test!"
Dylan replies that she just wants to make sure that Sara is good enough for him – and he is pleased she has passed the test.
He hands her the key to number 10
He symbolically takes the key for number 10 off his key ring and hands it to Sara;  “Jac wants you to know you’re always welcome – you’re one of the family now!”
"You're ten times the man Dylan is!'
Diane angrily lectures Jason, “You need to remember that you’re ten times the man Dylan is!”
"Yes – an addict who lives with his mother!"
He points out to her that he is an addict who lives with his mother, but she insists he is more than that;  “You proved that last week!”   When Dai comes in, she continues her rant, “If you’ve come here to point the finger, don’t waste your time!”
Dai's attitude has mellowed considerably
On the contrary, Dai has come to say sorry and to apologise;  “I put too much pressure on you under the circumstances,” he tells Jason,
"He's changed his tune!"
who looks rather surprised, and explains that he just could not face leaving the house.
"Things don't look so bleak with the job"
“I’ve had a word with Ffion, and now things don’t look so bleak with regards to the job – but don’t worry about that now – it’s not important,” Dai reassures him.
"Let's have a nice cup of tea"
Diane is glad to witness this change of attitude, and proposes to make a cup of tea;
"Don't forget the Garibaldis!"
“Yes – and dont forget the Garibaldis,” adds Dai.
Sara is back after inspecting the bathroom
Sara comes downstairs and announces that the bath in the en-suite turns into a Jacuzzi as well.   Dylan has just made an offer for the house, and the estate agent congratulates them.
"We can't do that, Dylan!"
“We can’t do that!” Sara protests, “I like it – of course I do!
"I don't want to rub salt in the wound"
“It’s just – Jason – I don’t want to rub salt into the wound.”
"You said you have to put us first now"
Jason wants to know, “How long are you going to be like this?   Remember what you said – you have to put us first now.   Look around you – you deserve this, and I want give it to you – if you can’t do it for yourself, then do it for Ifan!
"Imagine Ifan running round here!"
“Imagine him running around here and having a Jacuzzi in the bath.   We can’t hide for ever.”
Sara appears to be persuaded
She excitedly leaps into his arms.
"What are his children's names again?"
Guto is about to record his greeting for Garry, but cannot remember his children’s names;
"Your sister's still in her pyjamas upstairs"
DJ come downstairs and remarks that Guto’s sister is still in her pyjamas upstairs.   Guto describes her as a slob.
"Could I have some time off over Christmas?"
DJ asks Colin if he can have some time off from the chip shop over Christmas;  he is told there should not be any problem,
"I'll have a word with Britt . . ."
and Colin will have a word with Britt.
". . . on condition you record a birthday greeting for Garry"
 “On one condition – that you record a birthday greeting for Garry,” he adds.
Gaynor and Ffion pore over school paperwork
In the Deri, Gaynor and Ffion are going over some school figures, which Ffion will check later;
"The preparations are going well"
Dani reports that the arrangements for Garry’s party are going well, and suggests a flower wall for Instagram photos,
"Nah – a bit over the top!"
which Ffion considers to be rather too much.
Sara arrives at the bar and orders a bottle of the nicest champagne they have, with two glasses.   Ffion realises that someone is celebrating,
"It's not every day you buy a house, is it?"
and Sara proudly announces, “It’s not every day you buy a house, is it?   It’s lovely – a great place to raise Ifan.”
"Ifan would prefer to have his father around"
Ffion immediately feels sorry for Jason, and imagines that Ifan would prefer to have his father around, but Sara snarls that she is not going to stop Jason seeing him.
"Who does she think she is?"
“Who does she think she is?” demands Sara, when Ffion walks away.
"She was still in her pyjamas?"
Guto arrives home, and his mother exclaims, “She was still in her pyjamas?   You’ll have to go and see her – she won’t listen to me!
"Make sure she has something decent to eat"
“Take some of this food, to make sure she has something decent to eat.   Do you want your sister to ruin her life, or what?”   Guto is reluctant to interfere.
Dylan comes downstairs and is warned by Guto, “Mam is in one of her moods!”
"Come and celebrate with Sara and me"
Dylan wants Jaclyn to come to the Deri to celebrate with him and Sara.
She makes it quite clear, “I think that buying a house, after being in a relationship for five minutes, is ridiculous!”
Dylan receives a distressing phone call
His phone rings, and he answers it, “What?   I’ll be over now!
"Don't move!"
“Don’t move!”   Telling Jaclyn that nothing is wrong, he hurries out of the house.
"Why won't Jim answer his phone?"
At Bryntirion, Dai is trying to contact Jim, but he will not answer his phone;
DJ is going away over Christmas
DJ comes in and informs them, “I’ve made a decision, so don’t try and change my mind.   I’ve decided to go away over Christmas to see friends in Ireland.”
"What's all the fuss about, then?"
Dai, who seems to be engrossed in a sporting fixture on the television, asks if he will be coming back, and wonders what all the fuss is about;
"Enjoy yourself – and take Jason with you!"
“Go and enjoy yourself – take Jason with you!” he suggests,
"I'm spending Christmas here, with Ifan"
but Jason is determined to spend Christmas here with Ifan – Sara or not.
Ffion gives APD the gym contract back
Ffion arrives at the door, but she cannot stay, as she is on her way to get Arwen;  “I just wanted to pop over to give you some good news – I’d like to offer the work for the gym back to APD – leave Rhys to me!”
"I said you had a good head for business"
Dai is very pleased to hear this, and repeats his previous comment that she has a good head for business.
"There, you see – Dai Ashurst has still got it!"
“There, you see,” he boasts, “Dai Ashurst has still got it!   Right, Diane – a quick drink in the Deri to celebrate – come on!”
"Bethan!"
Dylan has arrived at Bethan’s (otherwise known as Jessie) flat, where he calls her name,
She is very near death
then is devastated to see her lying on the floor with blood trickling from her mouth.   She moves, and he lifts her up,
Bethan (Jessie) utters her final words
as she murmurs, “Dyl – I did it all for you,” and promptly expires in his arms.
Dylan is in a state of utter shock
He is reduced to floods of tears and wonders what he is to do.
His English-speaking contact does not want to get involved
He makes a phone call and says (in English), “You’ve got to get here now!   I can’t do this on my own!”   It appears that whoever he has phoned does not want to get involved, and ends the call;
Dylan cannot think straight
Dylan is panicking.
"I don't know what to buy Hywel"
Izzy comes into the Deri, where Gaynor is worrying about Hywel’s birthday on Friday, and she does not know what to buy him;  “I want to show that I’ve made a bit of an effort –
"I don't want to appear too keen"
“but I don’t want to appear too keen!” she says.
"You're lucky you've got any money!"
“You’re lucky you’ve got any money to buy anything, complains Izzy, “Trying to live on my salary is impossible.”   Her mother points out she is lucky to still have a salary.
Someone is celebrating with a bottle of champagne
Dai and Diane arrive for their celebration and find that Sara is also celebrating;
"Perhaps he's seen sense and got cold feet!"
as Dylan is not there, Diane suggests, “Perhaps he’s seen sense and got cold feet!”
Dai enquires what reason they have to celebrate,
"Dylan's buying a house"
and Sara hesitantly replies, “Dylan’s buying a house,”
"Things are certainly working out for you!"
and he points out that things are certainly working out for her.   “Dylan’s very good to Ifan,” Sara insists but Dai and Diane go to sit at a table.
Dylan is feeling very guilty
As Dylan stands on the veranda of Bethan’s flat (presumably overlooking Penarth Marina),
Jaclyn has been summoned to the flat . . .
Jaclyn arrives, having been summoned, and is horrified to see the body on the floor.
. . . but the sight of Bethan's lifeless body unnerves her
She is very reluctant to enter the room, then rushes out to Dylan on the veranda.
"What have you done to her?"
“What have you done to her?” she demands,
"The bag of drugs in her stomach must have burst"
and he replies that the bag must have burst – in her stomach – drugs!”
"You promised me you were finished with this drugs business!"
“You promised me you were finished with this drugs business!” Jaclyn screams at him,
"I need your help, Jac"
but he begs her to help him, maintaining that he knows what he is doing.
"He's still not turned up, then?"
In the Deri, Diane seems to be taking great delight in the fact that Dylan has not turned up,
"We'll get more privacy there"
and Sara decides to take the bottle of champagne home with her, remarking that they will get more privacy there.
"A new house now – Jason's got no chance!"
Dai prevents Diane from any more involvement, as it will not help anyone, especially Jason.   “A new house now!” she moans, “Jason’s got no chance!”
Jaclyn is by now feeling very queasy
Dylan and his sister arrive back at number 10, and she says she is going to be sick;
They are taken aback to see Sara there
then they are surprised to see that Sara is already sitting there.
"I came to look for you"
“I came to look for you,” she says, and when Jaclyn queries how she got in, she produces the key given to her by Dylan.
He advises that Jaclyn does not feel well, and ought to go straight to bed, which she does;
"She's the worst patient ever!"
“She’s the worst patient ever,” Dylan jokes, “She thinks she’s dying every time she gets a bug.”
"I felt a right fool in front of Dai and Diane!"
“Where were you?   I felt a real fool in front of Dai and Diane,” Sara asks, then notices the stain on the front of his shirt;
"What's that – blood?"
“What’s that – blood?”   He comes up with the unlikely tale that he had to cut up the meat at Tapas,
Sara is confused
but he will go and get changed now, so they can celebrate with the bubbly.
