On Monday morning Gaynor leaves Hywel's house
Hywel is just returning to the house with a bottle of milk when Gaynor lets herself out of his front door;  he apologises for being so long, complaining, “You know how Colin likes to chat.”
"You could have a shower here"
Gaynor is in a hurry to get home, shower and change before school, but he reminds her that she could have a shower at his house.
"Good luck for this afternoon"
She is about to dash off to Llwyncelyn, and he wishes her good luck for this afternoon.
"The first Justice of the Peace interview"
Megan approaches from the Apêl Maenan shop, and Hywel announces that Gaynor has a big day today;  “She has the first Justice of the Peace interview,” so Megan suggests she could come over to Llwyncelyn during the lunch hour to give her some coaching.
"Well, Megan, I don't think . . . "
Although Gaynor is not keen on this,
"That's a great idea, Megan!'
Hywel thinks that it is a good idea, so she has little choice but to agree.
Colin is having no joy
In the shop Colin is on the phone, trying to organise a venue for Garry’s surprise birthday party,
"Everywhere is booked up, Britt!"
but without any success.
"We've left it too late to book a venue for Garry's party"
Dani has been summoned, and is told by Britt, “We’ve got a problem – we've left it too late to book a venue for Garry’s party.”
"Tapas, The Bull, Llanarthur?"
Dani rattles off the usual suspects, “Tapas, The Bull, Llanarthur?” but Colin reports none of them are available.   “Right, we’ll have to hold it in the Deri, then,” concludes Dani, and Britt is very grateful, although then it will not be a surprise for Garry.
"Gaynor said Hywel's birthday is next week"
Colin comes up with an idea;  “Gaynor popped into the shop at the weekend, buying a birthday card for Hywel – his birthday is next week.   We could use his birthday as a cover!”
"You're a genius, Col!"
Britt regards him as a genius, providing that Gaynor and Hywel agree.
"Oh – back together, are they?"
Dani was not aware of the developments about Gaynor and Hywel, and is amazed when she is told;  “Right, leave everything to me – I’ll sort it out with Gaynor!” and she rushes out of the shop.
The constabulary have arrived
As she walks into the alley, we see a police car coming round the corner by the Deri and stopping in the High Street;  DI Wilkinson gets out.
"What's that all about, then, Beti?"
This is noticed by John Post, who draws it to Beti’s attention.
"Back to reality!"
Inside number 7, Tyler groans, “Well, here we go, back to reality!” and is glad they could have a weekend away.
"Little surprise for you, Ty!"
Before he leaves for school, Iolo has a little surprise for him;  now that he is a Deputy Head,
"Deputy Head must have the right equipment"
he needs a leather briefcase, and Tyler is very pleased with it.
The arrival of the police disturbs Iolo
There is a knock at the door, and Tyler is surprised to see the police outside;  Iolo looks very puzzled.
"Can you come to the station, please?"
“Tyler Davies-White, can you come to the station, please?” says the DI, “An ex-pupil has made a serious allegation against you.   If true, you will have broken the Position of Trust Act, 2003.”
"You can't go with them, Tyler!"
Iolo urges Tyler not to go with them, as he has done nothing wrong,
"If you don't, we'll have to arrest you"
but the DI continues, “If you do not, we will have to arrest you.”
Tyler is escorted out of the house
Tyler agrees to accompany them, despite Iolo’s protests, and as they leave the house,
"What's going on, Iolo?"
Ffion, who is watching from inside the café, comes out to see what is going on.
"There's been a misunderstanding"
Iolo tells her there has been a misunderstanding, and he must find someone to look after Greta.
Tyler is driven away
The police car leaves the village.
"I just want to ask a quick favour"
Dani arrives at Llwyncelyn, telling Gaynor, “I just want to ask a quick favour – for Garry’s surprise party to be a surprise, would you mind if we say that it’s Hywel’s party?   Garry doesn’t like surprises, but I think he’ll like this party.”
Gaynor wants to have her shower and get to school
Gaynor wants her to leave as soon as possible, so agrees to go along with this subterfuge, and will deal with Hywel.
"Leave it to me, Dani"
She will talk to Garry and book everything;  “Leave it to me!” she says, “Thanks for coming over, Dani,”
The door is shut behind Dani
and she almost pushes Dani out of the door.
"There's not a shred of truth in it"
At the police station, DI Wilkinson asks, “So you deny the allegation?” and Tyler replies that there is not a shred of truth in it – he is quite sure of that.   “That suggests that you have a clear conscience,” the DI goes on,
"Are you sure you can say that?"
“Are you sure you can say that, Mr Davies-White?”
"Aled's lying!"
Tyler states quite clearly, “Aled’s lying!”   It is pointed out to him that Aled has not been mentioned, but he sneers, “It’s obvious that Aled Richards is  behind this.”
"He alleges you have been in a sexual relationship"
Aled has alleged that he and Tyler have been in a sexual relationship for months, and Tyler laughs, “I’ve heard it all now!
"It's all in his head!"
“It’s all in his head – he’s obsessed with me, and he can’t accept that I’m not interested in him.”   He emphatically denies that he has had a relationship with Aled.
"The evidence suggests otherwise, Mr Davies-White"
“The evidence suggests otherwise,” he is told, and Tyler expects that the ‘GIF’ business ia being brought up again;  he calls that a set-up, and stresses he was cleared by a school investigation.
"It is breaking the law"
However, the DI reminds him that sleeping together, or even just kissing, is breaking the law, when he is in a position to influence a pupil.
"I've already told you, I'm innocent!"
Once more, Tyler protests his innocence.
The DI produces a photo for Tyler's perusal
Then a photograph is produced and Tyler is asked to explain why Aled is lying, apparently naked, in Tyler’s bed;
"Can you confirm this is your bed?"
“Can you confirm that the bed in this photo is your bed?” he is asked.
Now this is a bit disturbing
This tends to take the wind out of Tyler’s sails.
Iolo is in a state of near panic
Iolo is anxiously waiting at the police station, and is joined by his father,
"Greta is with Anita"
who informs him that Greta is safe with Anita.
"I think Aled's at it again!"
“I think Aled’s at it again,” Iolo tells him, and Siôn wonders why he suspects that. “He turned up at the vows ceremony last week – to wish us well, he said – and that’s why it’s odd, Dad!   Tyler is ‘helping with their enquiries’,”
"Well, they haven't arrested him"
so Siôn regards it as a good thing that they have not arrested him.
Iolo's anxiety increases
He will go and get them a good strong cup of tea, but Iolo is very troubled.
"What's your view on domestic abuse?"
Megan is giving Gaynor the benefit of her experience, advising, “They will want to get to know you as a person.   Right, clearly and concisely – what’s your view on domestic abuse?”
"It's a very complex area"
Gaynor replies that it is obviously a bad thing;  “I’m against domestic violence, but it is a very complex area, don’t you think?   We need to ask the question, why do people become so violent, and can we stop that?
"And why do so many of them re-offend?"
“And why do so many offenders re-offend after leaving prison?”
"You're focusing on the offender, rather than the victim"
Megan is surprised that she is focusing on the offender rather than the victim, but Gaynor tries to explain, “I feel that we, as a society, have a duty to protect the victims and the offenders.   If you had let me finish, you would have heard me say that!”
"I hope you'll be more courteous this afternoon"
Megan hopes that she will be more courteous this afternoon than she is now;
"Thank you for coming over, Megan"
Gaynor by now has had enough and thanks her for coming over, but considers that she will be all right.   “Clear and concise – exactly what I said.”
"Don't blame me if things go badly for you"
Megan has her doubts about this, but eventually takes the hint and goes, with her final comment being, “Well, don’t blame me if things go badly for you!”
"Can you explain him, naked, in your bed?"
At the police station, the DI asks, “So you’re not denying that Aled Richards is in your bed in this photo.   Can you explain why we have a photo of him naked in your bed?”
Tyler caught him coming downstairs once
Tyler recalls that he saw Aled coming down the stairs once, having sneaked in without them noticing, through the back door – which is left unlocked quite often.
“When I saw him, I threw him out, straightaway!” Tyler emphasises,
"No, I did not go upstairs with Aled!"
and confirms that he did not go upstairs with Aled.   “I had no idea he’d done this up there, either,” Tyler adds.
"Why would Aled Richards do all this?"
“Why would Aled Richards break into your house, go upstairs, remove his clothes, and take a photo in your bed?” demands DI Wilkinson, and Tyler’s answer is that he is obsessed, as he has already explained.
"Strange you didn't mention this before"
“It’s strange that you did not mention it until we showed you the photo,” the DI remarks, but Tyler did not consider it important.
"Why didn't you report it?"
“One thing that’s strange about your story, Mr Davies-White, is that you didn’t report it.”
Tyler maintains that he was trying to protect Aled, but is asked why he would protect someone who was obsessed with him.
"His situation at home is difficult"
“He’s only a boy – and I’m aware that his situation at home is difficult – I didn’t want to get him into trouble,” he replies.
"You're a saint, Mr Davies-White"
The DI sarcastically describes him as a saint.
"Do you think it's possible, Iolo?"
Siôn and Iolo are still waiting, and Siôn suspects that there is more to this allegation;  “Do you think it’s possible?”
but Iolo insists that Tyler is completely innocent.   His father regards it as something of a coincidence,
"I thought you were here to give support"
but Iolo thought he was here to give support.
"What's going on, Iolo?"
Then Dani arrives, demanding what is going on, and Iolo reveals that Aled has made another complaint.
"Mr Davies-White is free to go"
Tempers are about to get raised when a door opens and Tyler is led out;  “Mr Davies-White is free to go,” announces the DI, “We’ll be in touch –
"Do not contact Aled Richards, or you will be arrested"
“in the meantime, do not contact Aled Richards, or you will be arrested immediately.”
Iolo protests that Aled is the one who should be arrested,
"Why were you in there so long?"
and wants to know why Tyler was in there so long.   Tyler is reluctant to say anything,
"I just want to go home"
but demands that they go home,
Siôn wonders if there is any truth in the allegation
so they all leave the police station.
It went better than Gaynor expected
In the Deri, Gaynor informs Hywel, “It went a lot better than I expected – they were very nice.”
"You should thank your 'coach' ,then"
Hywel suggests that she thank her ‘coach’, as Megan is walking past.
"Sorry if I was a little impatient"
Gaynor begins, “Thank you for coming over – sorry if I was a little impatient – it was nerves.”
"You chose to ignore my advice"
Megan points out that she gave good advice, which Gaynor chose to ignore.
"I tried to be clear and concise, as you said"
Gaynor continues that what she said was very helpful, especially about being clear and concise, hoping that this has cleared the air.
"Can I book the Deri a week on Friday?"
Then Gaynor goes to the bar, where Britt and Colin are standing, and asks Garry, “Is it possible to book the Deri a week on Friday?   It’s for Hywel’s birthday party.”
"Haven't you heard, Garry – they're back together"
“Haven’t you heard, Garry?” interjects Britt, “Gaynor and Hywel are back together.”
"I'll put it in the book later"
He will note it down in the book later, and Britt will organise all the food.
Garry is sworn to secrecy
Gaynor emphasises that no-one is to know about this party, as she does not want to spoil the surprise.
Tyler is in a dejected state
Back home at number 7, Tyler is sitting very quietly when there is a knock on the door, and Dani’s voice can be heard outside;
"Iolo's gone to get Greta"
Tyler eventually lets her in, and says that Iolo has gone to get Greta.
"You're not innocent, are you?"
“I want the truth!” she demands, “You’re not innocent, are you?   You kissed him.”
"But I haven't slept with him!!"
Tyler does admit that, but is adamant he has not slept with Aled.
"Are you sure of that?"
She enquires whether he is sure of that;  “Why is he saying you’re having an affair?”
"I'm not in the mood to answer questions!"
Tyler shouts that he is not in the mood to answer questions – he has been doing that all day, so she turns to go.
"You can tell me anything, Ty"
She pauses by the door, and reminds him, “You can tell me anything, Ty.    You know that, don’t you?
"I don't want another brother in jail!'
“I hope you’re telling the truth – I don’t want another brother in jail!”
