"I forgot my lunch money"
Colin appears to have fallen asleep at the table and is woken by Aaron, who has forgotten his lunch money, so has come home to make himself something.    “You are coming to the sports day, aren’t you?” he asks,
"I don't think I can, Aaron"
but Colin does not think he can.   “Everybody’s families will be there – and I’ve only got you now!” Aaron pleads.
Then Colin has a phone call
Colin’s phone rings;  “Oh, I see,” he says rather hesitantly,
"Of course I can – no problem"
“Yes, of course I can, no problem – thanks for phoning.”
"Please come to the sports day, Col"
Aaron begs him to come to the sports day, and Colin agrees he will do his best.
"You haven't had an easy ride lately, have you?"
“Sorry, boy – you haven’t had an easy ride lately, have you?” he says, and Aaron replies that he feels lonely sometimes.   Colin knows that he misses his mother,
"There's a lot more stress when Mam's around!"
but Aaron points out that there is a lot more stress when she is around.
“Come on, then, Usain Bolt,” says Colin, “You need some carbs before this sports day –
They go downstairs for a good meal
“chips and curry sauce – and sausage – and mushy peas, the whole lot!”
DJ has been lumbered with all the work
Sioned is ironing, as DJ talks to Sara on the phone;  “How am I supposed to make these Sali Mali costumes with no staff?   I shall have to beg Kath to come back.   Jason should be sorting this out – it’s his fault!   Are you coming back later?”
"Fancy a session tonight?"
Mathew comes in and asks whether they fancy a session tonight;  “I’ve asked Rhys, but he’s playing happy families with Ffion.”
"Rhys and Ffion have been an item for a while"
This comes as a surprise to Sioned, and he confirms that they have been an item for some time.
"I'll have just a couple"
DJ will have a couple of drinks, but has a lot of work to do this week.
In answer to Mathew’s invitation,
"My ex-husband and my sister are being buried tomorrow"
Sioned points out, “My ex-husband and my sister are being buried tomorrow – I’m sure you will understand.”
Some unspecified Cwm Glas product
Eileen is spooning some Cae Glas concoction into containers when Kelly walks in and, without any pleasantries,
"I want my fifteen grand back now!"
demands, “I want my fifteen grand back now!”
Eileen is taken by surprise
Eileen is understandably rather taken aback by this, but Kelly continues, “Don’t say you haven’t got it – I know that Angela left you more than that in her will!”
"Ah, I know – Debbie"
Eileen knows exactly where that information came from, but Kelly maintains that it does not matter.   “I don’t know why you’re demanding that money, because Angela left it to me!” Eileen tells her.
"Angela was blackmailing Ed, and he gave her £15,000!"
Kelly forcibly points out, “Angela was blackmailing Ed, and he gave her £15,000 which he stole from me!”
Sioned walks in, and is surprised to see Kelly there;
"She's trying to say its her money"
“Kelly has found out that Angela gave me money, and she’s trying to say that it’s her money,” her mother explains.
"It's mine and the baby's!"
Kelly enlightens them, “He stole it all from me and the café – my account – our wedding money!   Our money for the future – so it’s mine and the baby’s!”
"Ed killed my daughter!"
Eileen relates, menacingly, that Ed killed her daughter,
"I have a right to that money!"
but Kelly insists that she has a right to it;  “I want you to leave now,” Eileen says.
Kelly leaves her in no doubt;
"OK, see you in court!"

If  I dont get the money, Ill contest the will, and Ill see you in court!
Eileen does not want to talk about it
After she has gone, Sioned tries to make a suggestion, but her mother refuses to talk about it.
Colin arrives at the hospital
At the hospital, Britt was not expecting to see Colin, but he tells her that he has been contacted,
"Have you heard the news?"
and wonders if she has heard the news about coming home.
"They only said 'maybe'!"
She remembers that they included the word ‘maybe’, and he agrees that they should not get their hopes up, just in case.
"I'm looking forward to seeing Aaron"
Aaron has not been informed, but she is looking forward to seeing him.
Colin invents a mythical school trip
Colin informs her, “The thing is . . . he won’t be there.   He’s going away on a school trip next week, to France – there is a group of them going, something to do with art and French, or something.”
"You'll be there – and Garry"
She replies that Colin will be there – and Garry,
"Actually, he's still in Portugal"
but then he reveals that Garry is still in Portugal with Chester, and thinks he will have to give the chippy flat a spring clean.
"You do want me to come home, don't you?"
“You do want me to come home, don’t you, Col?” she asks, doubtfully,
"Of course I do, Britt!"
and he assures her that of course he does;  he goes to get them a cup of tea.
"I think Kelly should get the money"
At Penrhewl, Sioned tell her mother, “I think Kelly should get the money.”
"I want to make sure you and Huwi are all right"
Eileen replies that she wants to make sure that Sioned and Huwi are all right,
"We've got you and Jim and a stable home"
but Sioned points out that they are all right.   “Look what Huwi and I have got – you, Jim, Penrhewl, a stable home.   What has Kelly got?   Yes, the café, – but what about the baby?   It’s going to be difficult to raise it on her own –
"Think about everything she's gone through"
“think about everything she’s been through already – you heard her, Mam, it’s her money.”
Jaclyn heads towards Tapas . . .
Jaclyn is walking along the street when she sees a taxi arrive,
. . . just as Garry arrives home
and Garry gets out;  she welcomes him home and he asks how Gerwyn is getting on.   She answers that he is busy in the garage, which pleases Garry.
He sees Colin . . .
Then he sees Colin, just about to go into the chip shop flat,
. . . and receives an unexpectedly warm welcome
who is very pleased that Garry has returned.   “Come up, will you?” demands Colin.
"Is Britt all right?"
“Dani and Seren have gone shopping, so there’s no rush,” says Garry, “Is Britt all right?”   Colin explains there is a chance that she can come home next week.
"I want Britt home – but I'm worried about Aaron"
“Look, don’t misunderstand me, I want Britt home – but I’m worried about Aaron,” he goes on,
"What if Britt has another bad turn?"
“What if Britt has another bad turn?   He’s had a difficult time lately – and it’s an important year for him at school.”
"Look, he'll be happy to have his mother home"
Garry maintains that he will be happy to have his mother home.
"I don't want Aaron to be here"
Colin has come to the decision that, if she comes home, he does not want Aaron to be there;  Garry demands what right he has to decide,
Garry is reminded he left Colin in sole charge
and is reminded that he washed his hands of the whole business.
"I've told her that he is in France with the school"
Colin is going to tell Britt that Aaron is in France with the school – in fact he has told her already.
“How are you going to stop Britt seeing him?” he is asked,
"We shall manage, Garry"
and Colin predicts, without much conviction, that they will manage.
"You don't need to see a solicitor . . ."
Sioned goes to visit Kelly at Y Felin, and informs her, “You don’t need to see a solicitor –
". . . Mam's transferred £15,000 to your account"
“Mam has transferred £15,000 to your account.”   Kelly is rather surprised at this abrupt change of heart;  “Check, if you don’t believe me,” says Sioned,
Kelly does indeed confirm this
and Kelly does just that.
"It will give you and the baby some security"
“You should get the money – you have more right to it than anyone else.   It will give you and the baby some security, at least,” Sioned continues.   Kelly wonders why Eileen changed her mind, and is told, “I told her that you deserved it – you said yourself what Ed did to you – the deception, the lies.   After what you’ve been through it’s the least you deserve.”
"You'r trying to soothe your conscience"
Kelly can see another motive behind this;  “You’re trying to soothe your conscience.   None of this would have happened if you hadn’t abused him!
"You're to blame for turning him into that monster!"
“You’re to blame for turning him into that monster.”
Sioned is left in no doubt how Kelly feels
Sioned looks very sheepish.
Gwern is glad to see Dad back
Gwern is pleased to welcome his father back, and sees that he has brought a present from Portugal.   “I heard you’ve been off school – are you better?” Garry asks.
"I've been better since last week"
Gwern lets the cat out of the bag, revealing that he has been better since last week.   “You open this while I have a chat with Mam,” says Garry.
"What makes you think you can home-school him?"
Gwyneth was not expecting him back today, but he demands, “What makes you think you can home-school him and run the salon?”
"His reading and maths have improved"
She says she will cut her hours and teach him;  in the few days she has been doing it, she alleges that his reading and maths have improved.
"He should be at school, and he's not leaving"
Garry is unimpressed;  “He should be at school, and he’s not leaving – he needs to mix with other children – and anyway, who says you’re fit to teach him?
"Filling his head with your poison!"
“Filling his head with your poison and your prejudices.”
"Dad, I don't want to go back to school"
Gwern comes in and tells him, “Dad, I don’t want to go back to school – I don’t like it there.”
"We'll have a chat another time"
Garry will have a chat with him about that another time;  “But for now, go and pack your things, ready to come home to the Deri.   Dani, Seren and I have missed you terribly.”
"This isn't over!"
He sternly warns Gwyneth, “This isn’t over!”
Gerwyn gets home in a dirty state . . .
Gerwyn returns home in overalls and a dirty T-shirt;  Jaclyn points out that he must take it off, before Luned thinks they live like pigs.
. . . and is caught by Guto and Luned
However, it is too late, and she comes in with Guto;  she is greeted by Jaclyn,
Jaclyn has made a special cake
who has made a cake specially for the occasion.
"Hey, you've won the jackpot there!"
Gerwyn comments to his son, “Hey, you’ve won the jackpot there!”
"Come on, Luns, or we'll be late!"
and Guto suddenly decides that they had better leave, as they are meeting friends.   Jaclyn tries to tempt them to come back for dinner, as they are having corned beef pie.
Guto becomes insistent;  “Come on Luns, or we’ll be late,” and they make a hasty exit,
He is enjoined to behave himself
with Gerwyn hoping that they enjoy themselves – and behave.
"Should I start saving for a hat?"
Jaclyn has come to the conclusion that Luned is lovely, and wonders if she should start saving for a hat;  she is advised against it by Gerwyn.
"Don't be embarrassed about your parents"
Around the corner from the alley, Luned urges Guto not to be embarrassed about his parents, maintaining that hers are just as bad.
"You can kiss me if you want"
“You can kiss me if you want,” she invites him, and, after disposing of his mint,
Luned makes the first move
he allows her to kiss him;  by the second attempt,
"Sorry – nerves!"
after she has encouraged him to relax, he is improving somewhat.
"See – you can do it!"
“See – you can do it!” she smiles.
"Cwmderi's new stud!"
They walk together through the alley, and Jake, one of Guto’s mates, who is sitting on the bench, comments, “Here he is – Cwmderi’s new stud!”
"Guto, your fly's open!"
and teases him, “Guto, your fly’s open!”
"No it's not – I did it up myself!"
As Guto looks to check, Luned assures Jake, “It’s not – I did it up myself!”   Tesni, who is also on the bench with Mathew, thought that Jake was supposed to be his friend.
Tesni will see Mathew in the Deri later
She is concerned about Guto, and says she will see Mathew in the Deri later.
"It's not a good idea to mention Chester"
When they arrive at the hospital, Colin says he will come in with Garry and then leave them alone;  he also does not think it is a good idea to mention Chester.
"Garry – is Chester with you?"
Britt is overjoyed to see him, and immediately asks, “Is Chester with you?”
"He couldn't get time off work"
Garry’s reply is that Chester could not get time off work, but does send his regards.   Colin leaves them to talk.
"There's a long journey ahead"
“You might be allowed home soon, says Garry, but she is still doubtful about that, aware that there is a long journey ahead.
"This is what was wrong with Mam, isn't it?"
“This is what was wrong with Mam, isn’t it?” she tells him,
"Remember when she picked us up to go to the fair?"
and he remembers when she picked them up from the school to go to the fair, and argued with the teachers that enjoying yourself is more important than learning.
"Yes, she fell out with the driver!"
“She bundled us all on the bus – she was noisy – she fell out with the driver!” Britt recalls.
"She was more of a child than us sometimes"
Garry remarks that she was more of a child than them sometimes,
"We had no chance, did we, Gar?"
and Britt laments, “We had no chance, did we, Gar?   It was hopeless.”   He points out that the difference is there was no-one to help her,
"You've got the doctors and the right medication"
but Britt has the doctors, the right medication and, above all, a family who will do everything they can to help her.   He assures her that everything will be fine.
"But what about the children?"
“It can run in the family – what about the children?” she ponders.
"I enjoyed this afternoon"
In the café, Luned wishes that Guto would stop saying sorry;  she enjoyed this afternoon, and describes him as lovely.   “Don’t let Jake wind you up,” she says, then is notified that her father is on his way, and she has an essay to finish;
She kisses him as she leaves
“See you tomorrow,” and she kisses him.
Tesni can see that he is not happy
As Tesni comes in, Guto is looking rather troubled, and she asks how it went;
"She feels sorry for me"
“She feels sorry for me,” he groans,
"No – she adores you"
but Tesni knows that Luned adores him, and urges him not to let that prat Jake ruin things.   When she starts mentioning sex,
"Not everyone is like you"
he tells his sister that not everyone is not like her, then apologises.
"I don't know where or how to start"
She comments that girls develop more quickly than boys, and he complains that he does not know where or how to start.
"I'm here if you need to talk"
“There’s no rush, Guto, and I’m always here if you need to talk,” she assures him, “Just promise me one thing – never change.”
Preparations for the party begin
As a foretaste of tomorrow’s events, to the accompaniment of a choir singing Cesar Franck’s ‘Panis Angelicus’, we see Kelly making preparations for her party at Y Felin,
Ed's coffin is wheeled into the chapel
then Ed’s coffin being wheeled into the crematorium chapel.
The party poppers are ready
This surreal juxtaposition of scenes continues with the party table being laid,
The nameplate on the coffin
then the brass plate on the coffin, bearing Ed’s name.
Kelly looks pleased with her preparations . . .
Kelly looks at her party handiwork, smiles
. . . and leaves the room
and walks out of the room.
