Business is not brisk in the salon
Gwyneth is doing some mending as she sits in the salon;  Cassie comes in, and Gwyneth complains, “Why does Gwern insist on playing rugby in his school uniform?   This is the third pair I’ve bought him this year!”
"I can't live out of a suitcase for ever"
Cassie wonders if she has heard from the landlady of the flat upstairs;  “I can’t live out of a suitcase for ever,” she says.
"I forgot to check things for Erin"
Gwyneth tells her that Erin Medi asked her to check things out in the flat, but she forgot to do so.   Cassie would be very grateful if she could sort it out today.
"You need a new pair from Awyr Iach!"
Then Sara comes in, wanting an appointment for tomorrow afternoon;  seeing the pair of trousers which Gwyneth has been mending, she says, “You need to come to Awyr Iach to buy new ones.”
"You don't supply the uniforms any more"
“There’s no point now, is there, because you don’t supply the uniforms any more,” replies Gwyneth.   This comes as a shock to Sara, however, it is pointed out that the letter from the school said they are no longer the supplier;
Sara make a hasty exit
Sara turns and rushes out of the salon.
Cassie again reminds Gwyneth about the flat;  “Today, please,” and then also leaves.
"I can't believe that it was Eileen's daughter"
Izzy arrives at Penrhewl, having seen Eileen and Sioned, who said that Eifion was there;  “It was hard to know what to say to them – I can’t believe that the body we saw in the lake was Eileen’s daughter.”
"It's been a shock to everyone"
Eifion agrees that it has been a shock to everyone.
"I thought you'd want some space"
“I heard that you and Angela used to be married,” Izzy continues, “I would have called sooner, but I thought you’d want some space.”   He points out that things have been so busy, especially with Jim away, and he is trying to support Eileen and Sioned too.
"Can I take you out for a drink tonight?"
“You need a break, then – can I take you out for a drink tonight?” she asks, “Shall we meet in the Deri?”   He does not want to go there, reminding her that people like to gossip, and maintaining that things are still rather difficult between him and Cadno.
"It could make things awkward"
“If she thought that I was seeing someone, she could make things awkward,” he explains, but Izzy stresses that it is only a drink.   He predicts that Cadno could misunderstand;
"It's quite exciting, having a secret!"
Izzy appreciates this, and says that it is quite exciting, having a secret.
"I've got work to do as well"
At number ten, Tesni is taking up all the table with her homework, and Guto protests that he has work to do as well;  “We had a really poor marks in this afternoon’s history test, and Mr Morris has put us in pairs to revise,” she tells him,
"I've been paired with Luned"
“I’ve been paired up with Luned – you do know her.”
Luned is pleased to see Guto
At that moment she arrives, and looks very pleased to see Guto there;  the two girls settle down at the table, while he makes a drink, and Luned seems unable to take her eyes off him.
"You should have told me, DJ!"
Sara is very angry when she arrives at Awyr Iach, complaining that the school have changed their supplier;  “You should have told me!” she rants at DJ, but he did not know himself, and surmises that there must be a letter about it somewhere.   Jason walks in on this argument, and is told that they have lost the contract with the school.
"They've found somewhere cheaper"
“They say we’re too expensive,” Sara informs him, “So they’ve found somewhere cheaper.”
"We shall certainly be making a loss now!"
DJ admits that they have had to raise their prices, since their costs went up a few weeks ago.   Sara had forgotten that, and says that they will certainly be making a loss now;
"Stuck with mountains of uniforms!"
“Stuck with a mountain of uniforms nobody wants!   Don’t worry – I’ll think of something.”
"I wanted to ask your opinion"
Eifion pays a visit to Ffion;  “I hope you don’t mind me calling round,” he says, and she remarks that she has not seen him for a while.   “I wanted to ask your opinion,” he continues,
"I've met someone I like"
“I’ve met someone – someone I like.”
"What's his name, then?"
Ffion assumes that it is a man, and is surprised when he announces, “It’s Izzy!   Yes, Gaynor’s daughter – how many more Izzys do you know?”
Ffion asks if he is serious, and whether Izzy is happy about things –
Eifion has not told her
then realises that he has not told her;  he says, “The thing is, she wants to go for a drink tonight – I know I should tell her, but I want to see how things go first.”   Ffion is sure that Izzy is going to find out sooner or later,
"I'm worried Gaynor will tell her"
and he is worried that she will be told by Gaynor.
"There we go, then – be honest with Izzy!"
“There we go, then – be honest with Izzy!” Ffion advises, “Believe me, nothing good comes from keeping secrets.”
Guto is feeling uncomfortable
Guto is feeling rather uncomfortable, working at the table with the two girls; Luned tells him, “You must be clever to do Maths AS – I’m re-sitting my GCSE tomorrow.”
"Are you a detectorist?"
Then she is interested to hear that he is a detectorist, and enquires whether he has found any treasures.
"I found a Roman coin, worth £200"
He tells her of the Roman coin he found at Pwll Bach, which made him £200;  then, embarrassed, he retires upstairs.
"Do you fancy my brother?"
“Do you fancy my brother?” demands Tesni, “It’s the way you look at him.”
"We're supposed to be working"
Luned urges her to get down to some serious revision.
"The boiler in the flat is kaput!"
Cassie emerges from the Deri with her small amount of luggage, but is advised by Gwyneth, that she should take it back upstairs;  “The boiler in the flat is kaput!”   Cassie cannot manage without hot water, and Gwyneth adds, “Iolo can’t do it until next week.”
"What am I supposed to do?"
Cassie points out that Dani has rented out her room to visitors;  “So what am I supposed to do?”
Ffion says she cannor accommodate a lodger
Seeing Ffion passing, she asks, “You don’t fancy a lodger, do you?”   Ffion alleges that she is trying to sort out the spare room at the moment, so cannot oblige, and suggests that Cassie should try Tomos ac Ellis, to see if they have anything available.
Cassie is very reluctant to stay with Gwyneth
Gwyneth emphasises that she would welcome Cassie as a flat-mate, but she does not want Gwyneth to go to any trouble, and will try Tomos ac Ellis.
"I have to go out in an hour"
At Llwyncelyn, Gaynor arrives home, but tells Izzy that she has to go out in an hour to a management team dinner.
"I shall have a quiet night in"
Izzy presumes that her mother will have a late night, and says that she is planning a quiet night in.
"We're organising end of term activities"
“We shall be organising end of term activities,” Gaynor says, and Izzy suggests that Yr Antur could do something with the school.   Just then there is a knock at the door;  its is Sara, who is eager to speak to Gaynor.
"Why don't you want Awyr Iach to supply school uniforms?"
“Why don’t you want Awyr Iach to supply the school uniforms?” she demands,
"It was the governors' decision"
and Gaynor explains that it was the decision of the governors.   “I’ve supplied the school for years!” Sara goes on, and it transpires that the rise in prices was the deciding factor.
"We've bought hundreds of uniforms!"
“We’ve already bought hundreds of uniforms,” Sara pleads,
"I'm sorry if you've put the cart before the horse"
but Gaynor accuses her of putting the cart before the horse.   “We can lower our price and match your new suppliers,” Sara suggests, but again Gaynor points out that it was the governors’ decision, and she doubts that anything will change.
"It's obvious she has 'the hots' for you!"
Tesni tells Guto, “It’s obvious that she has the hots for you – ‘Oh Guto, you’re so clever!
"Ooh, Guto, you're a detectorist!"
“Ooh, Guto, you’re a detectorist’!   And you obviously like her, too!”   He denies this, as she pretends to play with his metal detector;
"It's getting really excited now!"
“Pip, pip, pip – it’s getting really excited now – look, it’s going off the scale!   It’s sensing that Luned is coming back to fetch her file.”
"I must have given her my file by mistake!"
She alleges, “Oops – I must have given her my file by mistake.   I’ve texted her now, and she is on her way –
"You'd better think up some chat-up lines!"
“you’d better think of some chat-up lines!”
Guto is exasperated
He is exasperated.
Gwyneth walks through the alley . . .
Gwyneth walks through the alley,
. . . and her mind strays back to when Ed attacked her . . .
and has flashbacks to when Ed jumped out at her
. . . and injured her against the wall
and slammed her against the wall;
The thought scares her . . .
she is filled with panic,
. . . and then a hand touches her shoulder
even more so when a hand touches her shoulder;
"Are you all right, Gwyneth?"
it is DJ, who asks if she is all right.
"I was just thinking about Ed"
She admits that she was just thinking about Ed;  “People can do terrible things sometimes.”   DJ remarks that Ed cannot hurt anyone else now,
"Do you fancy a drink tonight?"
and and she asks him if he fancies a drink tonight, but he turns her down on the grounds that he is working late.
Cassie has had a disappointing visit to Tomos ac Ellis
Cassie emerges from the door of Tomos ac Ellis, looking rather downhearted;
"Any luck?"
Ffion enquires if she has had any luck.   “Nothing I can afford – I don’t know what I’m going to do!” Cassie sighs.   Ffion maintains that her flat is like a tip, otherwise she would offer a room.
"I wouldn't charge much!"
Gwyneth gravitates towards them;  “I’ve still got a spare room,” but Cassie is reluctant to accept.   “I wouldn’t charge much,” Gwyneth continues, “Whatever you can afford – unless you have somewhere else in mind.”
Cassie has little choice but to accept
As she has no other choice, Cassie accepts the offer, and Gwyneth will take her bags;
Ffion predicts this will not end well
Ffion looks rather askance at them.
"They're not budging"
Back at Awyr Iach, Sara reports that she has spoken to Gaynor, and the chairman of the governors, but they are not budging.   “It isn’t just the school contract we’ve lost, is it?   And we haven’t found anyone else to replace them.”
DJ points out they have one new contract
DJ has been doing his best and working late every night;  “We’ve got a contract to supply the new health club in Carmarthen.”
"It's my fault – I've let things slide"
She appreciates everything he has done, and blames herself, as she has let things slide.
DJ is asked to keep this from Jason
“Listen, don’t mention any of this to Jason,” she tells him, “I don’t want him to worry about the business.”   DJ says there is no point in panicking, as this is only a blip.
"Your mind must have been on something else"
Luned has come back to number ten;  “I don’t know how I left it behind,” she says, and Tesni suggests that her mind must have been on something else.
"Guto say he can give you a couple of tips"
“Guto was just saying that he can give you a couple of tips before you resit tomorrow.”   This comes as news to him, and he almost chokes over his cup of tea.
Luned looks quite pleased
Tesni leaves them alone and Luned seems glad to be with Guto.
"We're having a takeaway"
Izzy opens the door of Llwyncelyn to Eifion, and informs him that she has ordered a takeaway;
"Mam is out for the night, so relax"
“Don’t worry – Mam is out for the night, so you can relax – what do you want, wine or lager?”
Gwyneth appears to have acquired a babysitter
Cassie comes downstairs in number nine, and comments that it is a very nice room;  Gwyneth has just realised that she has a PTFA meeting tonight, which she had forgotten about.   She does not want to miss it, so leaves Cassie in charge of Gwern, who is upstairs doing his homework.
"His dinner will be ready in 15 minutes"
“His dinner will be ready in 15 minutes – help yourself to anything in the fridge – and if I’m late, he’s supposed to be in bed by nine,” Gwyneth instructs her.
Cassie sarcastically asks if she should read him a story,
"He's a bit old for that!"
but is told that he is a bit old for that.   Welcoming Cassie to her new home, Gwyneth leaves,
"Just until the boiler is fixed!"
but is told that it is just until the boiler is fixed.
Cassie has a bad feeling about this
“As soon as you settle in, you won’t want to leave,” predicts Gwyneth.
"I wondered where you were"
Jason finds Sara, slaving over her computer;  he was wondering where she was, as she is not answering her phone.
"I'm finishing these orders"
“I put it on silent, so I could finish these orders,” she tells him, “I haven’t done one for ages.”
"This is all my fault, isn't it?"
“This is all my fault, isn’t it?’ realises Jason, “You’ve been so busy dealing with my mess, you haven’t been able to pay attention to everything else.”
"It all seems OK"
She lies to him that everything seems OK, but he points out she has a pile of school uniforms that no-one wants to buy.
"I've got a magic touch"
She assures him that she will shift them;  “I’ve got a magic touch.”
"Don't hide things from me, Sara"
He begs her not to hide things from him;  actually he would prefer to know,
"The business is healthy!"
but she insists that the business is like its name – ‘healthy’.
However, she knows otherwise
They leave for their dinner, with Sara looking at the pile of school uniforms as she closes the door.
Guto explains to Luned
Guto is explaining to Luned about the gradients of curves, and she says that she understands it now;
"My dinner's ready"
then her phone sounds, and she has to leave for her dinner.
"You've been such a help!"
“Thank you Guto – you’ve been such a help!” she says.
"Why didn't you ask her on a date?"
As soon as she is out of the door, Tesni demands why he did not ask her on a date, but he replies that he does not want to go on a date.   She tells him that he is just shy;  “It’s only natural, seeing that you’ve never been out with anyone.   You have to have the real thing some time – not just the stuff you watch online!   I’ll set up a date for you,” but he emphatically warns her to do no such thing.
"I'll ask them when I want to!"
“If I want to go out with someone, Tes, I’ll go out with someone – and I will ask them when I want to!” he rages.
Izzy did some exciting things abroad . . .
At Llwyncelyn, Izzy says that she did some scuba diving before coming back, but base jumping was the best thing.   She came back because she ran out of money;
. . . but coming back has not been too bad
“But it hasn’t been too bad, moving back.   Anyway, I’m doing all the talking here – what’s happened to you since I’ve been away?”
"Nothing exciting"
He replies that had nothing exciting has happened to him;
"Have you been out with anyone else?"
“Except splitting from Cadno, and she doesn’t want you to have another girlfriend,” comments Izzy, “Have you been out with anyone else since you split up?”
"No-one special – until now"
He maintains that there has been no-one special, not until now, and is still worried about when her mother will be back.
"She won't be back for hours"
She assures him that it will not be for hours yet,
They appear to be getting on well
and they get down to some kissing.
