Garry has fallen asleep
Next morning, Dani gets up to find Garry asleep on the sofa;
Dani wakes him
after looking at him for a while, she gently rouses him.   The first thing he wants to know is, “Have they phoned?
"Have they identified the body?"
“Have they identified the body?” but she shakes her head.
“There’s nothing to say that it’s Britt – she wouldn’t do that,” Dani tells him,
"I don't have a clue any more"
but he has been trying to think for days what Britt would do, and he does not have a clue any more.
Kath tries to use the body to her financial adntage
At Maes-y-Deri, Kath is on the phone to the Glyndwr;  “The thing is, when we booked the surprise party,
"We weren't expecting a surprise corpse in the lake!"
“we weren’t expecting a surprise corpse in the lake – well, money back for a start – and a bit extra.   I think something like this deserves compensation.”
Debbie has just come downstairs and is horrified;  she grabs the phone from Kath.
"It's the least they can do!"
“It’s the least they can do!” Kath protests, but Debbie does not care about the money, and wants to hear no more about it.
"All that matters is Britt and Colin"
She insists that all that matters now is Britt and Colin;  Mark is of the opinion that things do not look good, and they had no idea how ill Britt was.
"I'm going round to see Colin"
He decides he will go and see Colin.
"Don't ring the Glyndwr again, Mam!"
He warns his mother not to ring the Glyndwr again about compensation;  “I know you!” he says.
Rhys has spent the night with Ffion
Rhys is at Cysgod y Glyn;  he creeps up behind Ffion, surprising her,
He kisses her
and then kisses her;
"Thanks for staying with me last night"
“Thanks for staying with me last night,” she tells him, and he replies that he could not leave her on her own.   “I can’t stop thinking about Britt,” she goes on,
"Are you going to sneak back to your bed?"
“What are you going to do now?   Sneak back into your bed?”
He points out that perhaps he should, as he has not had much sleep, and, as usual, looks very pleased with himself, but nevertheless maintains that he is still worried about his father;
"Dad was odd last night"
“He was odd last night,” Rhys says,
"You're imagining things"
but Ffion considers that he is imagining things, and everyone was concerned about Britt last night.   Rhys thinks that it is time he left.
Hywel is already up
When he slips in through the back door of his father’s house, he finds Hywel up already; “My knee was hurting,” is the excuse, “Where have you been?”
Rhys fabricates a story
Rhys concocts some tale about crashing on the sofa with Mathew and DJ, but Hywel is suspicious.
"What was going on between you and Ffion yesterday?"
“What was going on between you and Ffion yesterday?” he demands, “I was looking for her everywhere, then you two walked in together.”
"I just went out for some fresh air"
Rhys answers that he just went outside for some fresh air, and wonders why there are all these questions
"Have you heard anything?"
Garry and Dani look at each other, as Colin comes in, wanting to know if they have heard anything;
“Look, I don’t want to say anything in front of Aaron – but it’s not Britt, Garry!”   Dani tries to remind him that the story is all over the news,
Mark arrives to offer his condolences
but then Mark arrives.   He does not want any congratulations on his marriage, but to offer his condolences.
He tells Garry that he did not see the body, so he does not know any details of what the decedent was wearing, or the colour of her hair.   Dani stresses that Mark does not know anything,
"What's he doing here, then?"
so Garry shouts, “What’s he doing here then?”
"Sorry, Mark"
then apologises for his outburst.
"Izzy was the one who saw the body"
“Izzy was the one who saw the body,” Mark tells him, and this comes as a surprise to Colin,
Garry dashes out of the flat
but as soon as Garry hears it, he rushes from the flat.
"They're saying on Facebook that Mam's dead!"
Aaron comes in;  “Colin, they’re saying on Facebook that Mam’s dead – that they found her in a lake!”
"Your Mam would never leave us, Aaron!"
Colin replies that it is not true – his mother would never leave them;  Dani points out that they do not know that, but Colin is quite adamant, “Mam’s all right – wherever she is – she’s all right – it wasn’t her in the lake!”   Then he leaves in pursuit of Garry.
"Heard any more about the body?"
Gerwyn is tinkering with his car outside the house, and Jaclyn brings him a cup of tea;  Dai and Diane are passing, and Dai asks if he has heard any more about the body.   “Some people are saying it might be Britt,” he replies,
Ffion is also waiting to hear
and Ffion, too, is waiting for news.
"Colin is still convinced it's not Britt"
They congratulate Mark as he comes past, although it was a pity about the circumstances;  he informs them that Colin is still convinced that it is not Britt.
"She has disappeared before, hasn't she?"
Gerwyn has heard that Britt has disappeared before, and they agree that it is worse this time, with her mental state.   Jaclyn wants to do something to help, and Mark suggests that they could look for her,
"There's no point if it is Britt in the lake"
although Dai says, “Is there any point, if the body in the lake is Britt?”
"Meet in the Deri in an hour, OK?"
Mark will contact Dani, and they agree to meet in the Deri in an hour or so.
"Don't worry, it's decaf"
In the abandoned house, Ed has made coffee and brings a cup for Kelly;  “Don’t worry, it’s decaf,” he reassures her.
"You can trust me – you know that"
She pleads with him to let her go, and promises she will not say anything about Angela;  “You can trust me – you know that.
"I'm good at keeping secrets"
“I’m good at keeping secrets – please – for our baby!”
"If we're not together, it would all be a waste"
Ed is unmoved;  “I can’t do that, Kel.   If we’re not together, it would all be a waste – Angela would have died for no reason.   You can see that, can’t you?
"You'll realise this was all for the best"
“I know you’re scared, but, in time, you’ll come to realise that this was all for the best.”
"My tastebuds are all over the place"
Kelly asks if there is any sugar, and he reminds her that she does not take sugar, but she maintains, “My tastebuds are all over the place since the pregnancy.”
She wrenches open this door . . .
He leaves the room, and Kelly makes a frantic dash for the door,
. . . but is prevented from escaping
but finds the outer door barred with lengths of timber.
"Don't try anything like that again!"
Ed snarls, “Don’t try anything like that again!”
Kelly looks at him with horror
She turns and looks at him with horror.
There is a hammering at the door
There is a repeated knocking at the door of Llwyncelyn, and Garry bursts in, followed by Colin;
"Leave her alone, Garry!"
Gaynor objects,
"Was it Britt?   Just answer the question!"
but Garry immediately demands, “Was it Britt?   Just answer the question, Iz!   Was the body Britt, yes or no?”
Izzy runs to her father
In the face of this hostility, Izzy runs to her father, and Garry is convinced that she knows something;
"I'm not going anywhere until I get answers!"
“I’m not going anywhere until I get answers!” he growls.
The searchers have assembled
Mark briefs the searchers in the Deri;  “The best thing is to avoid the hotel – forensics are still there.   We can talk to people.”
"Having to do the police's work for them!"
Dai remarks that it is coming to something when they have to do the police’s work for them, but Diane reminds him that is what a close community does.
"I think you misunderstood yesterday"
As everyone files out, Hywel tells Ffion that he thinks that she misunderstood things yesterday – and he was not trying his luck;  “We’re friends, and we will always be friends.”
"Sorry I overreacted"
She is sorry that she overreacted, but then he wants to know what was going on between her and Rhys outside the Glyndwr;
"You were outside with Rhys"
“When Izzy found the body, you two were outside – you came in to tell everyone.”
"I went out for some fresh air"
Ffion explains that she went outside for some fresh air;  he adds, “With Rhys?” and she says that Rhys kept her company, as it is not always easy for her to be around people who drink.   “He didn’t come home last night,” Hywel adds.
"Are you suggesting he was with me?"
“Are you suggesting he was with me?” Ffion enquires indignantly, “He was supporting me –
"He can be a gentleman – unlike his father"
“Rhys can be a gentleman at times – unlike his father!”   She angrily walks out of the Deri.
Kelly looks discouraged
Kelly is looking very discouraged
"How do you fancy Ireland?"
as Ed asks her, “How do you fancy Ireland?   A new start – you, me and the baby – we could be so happy, Kel – two people who are meant to be together.   We could book into a hotel for a while –
"We could have a flat by the sea?"
“it would give us time to find a flat by the sea – are you willing to come?”
"Was Dewi self-defence?"
Kelly enquires if Dewi was self-defence, and he tells her that of course it was;
"I tried to keep you out of this mess with Angela"
“I tried to keep you out of this mess with Angela, and you know what?   Now you know, I feel relieved, and I know it’s tough now, but this will bring us closer together in the end, you’ll see.   You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me, Kel.”
"I just want to go home"
She makes no reply, and he can see that she is scared of him;  “I just want to go home,” she whimpers, but he harshly informs her that they are not going home.
Hywel is keeping his eyes open . . .
In the village the searchers are talking to other local inhabitants, and of course Hywel gravitates towards Ffion;
. . . and of course heads for Ffion
“I’m sorry – I’m turning into a paranoid old man,” but she tells him to forget about it.
Rhys is also keeping watch
From the other end of the street, Rhys is keeping a careful eye on them,
"Come on, Hopalong!"
as Dai informs Hywel that they do not have all day.
Ffion sends a text message . . .
Various of the villagers have heard about the body in the lake, and as Hywel watches, he sees Ffion typing a message on her phone,
. . . and Rhys looks at it
then Rhys takes out his phone and looks at it.
"Have the police spoken to you, Izzy?"
Colin asks Izzy if the police have spoken to her, and she confirms they they did last night;  “I just told them what happened.”   Colin had no idea that she found the body,
and Gaynor thinks it inadvisable for her to go through it again.
"Aaron doesn't know if his mother is alive or not!"
Garry rages, “Gaynor, I know you’re worried about your daughter, I can understand that, but Aaron is my concern.   Iz, he doesn’t know if his mother is alive or not – if you know something – anything!’
"I didn't see her face"
She simply explains, “I don’t know if it was Britt – I didn’t see her face, she is in tears as she cannot remember the details.   Gaynor has had enough of this, but Garry will not relent.
"What was she wearing – you must remember?"
“What was she wearing – you must remember!   Tell us, and we’ll leave you alone!” he demands.
"Black and grey!"
Izzy finally blurts out, “Black and grey!”
This makes Garry think
Both Garry and Colin look extremely apprehensive.
Jaclyn and Gerwyn both seem to have come to the conclusion that the body must be Britt,
The eagle-eyed Hywel . . .
while Hywel is keeping up his surveillance,
. . . keeps watch on Ffion and Rhys
and sees Ffion and Rhys looking at each other.   He tells Gerwyn that nothing surprises him any more.
They go to the back street for some privacy
Both Ffion and Rhys have gone into the back street for some privacy;  “He must suspect something,” Rhys says, but Ffion was under the impression that they had been very careful.
"Perhaps we should end this before he finds out"
“Perhaps we should end this before he finds out,” Rhys suggests,
Ffion is reluctant to do that
but neither of them really want to do so.
“I adore you!” says Rhys,
Hywel has the evidence he wanted
and as he kisses her, we can see Hywel watching from the end of the street.
"When did you want to go to Ireland?"
Kelly looks longingly out of the window, and asks, “When did you want to go to Ireland?”
"I want to go tonight"
He is keen to go tonight, but is getting tired of having to justify himself to her.   “I’m just trying to understand, that’s all,” she tells him.
"I had no choice"
“I had no choice – there’s nothing else to say!” he growls, and she thinks she understands why he snapped.
"Angela has always been a bitch – and Sioned"
He looks threatening as she continues that Angela has always been a bitch – and Sioned.
"Perhaps I understand why"
She sits opposite him;  “I’m not saying she deserved what happened to her, and I don’t agree with what you’ve done – but perhaps I understand why.”
"Can we start over, Kelly – you and me?"
Again he argues that he had no choice;  he holds her hand and pleads, “Can we start over, Kelly – you and me?”
"That's a huge ask"
She stresses that it is a big ask – huge – but she nods her head.
"I love you, Kelly!"
“I love you, Kelly!” he says
"I love you too"
and she replies that she loves him too.
