From an upstairs window . . .
From an upstairs window in his house,
. . . 'Peeping Tom' Llywelyn is watching . . .
Hywel is looking down at the village street;
. . . as Ffion posts a letter . . .
he sees Ffion posting a letter, then notices Rhys running along the street.
. . . then meets Rhys by the bus stop
He and Ffion hide round the corner by the bus stop;
Hywel is not happy
Hywel looks furious.
"Nefi wen!   It's closed again!"
Dai and Diane discover a notice on the door of the Deri;  “Nefi wen!” exclaims Dai, “It’s closed again today – just like the café!   It’s like a morgue here –
"Where am I going to have lunch?"
“where am I going to have lunch?”
"Have you heard any more about Kelly?"
Diane goes across the road to ask Ffion if she knows any more about Kelly;  “I heard that she’s out of hospital and staying at Y Felin,” is the reply, “I don’t know about Ed, unless they’ve found his body.”
"We heard he tried to take Kelly with him!"
Dai says that they heard he threw himself off the cliff, and tried to take Kelly with him;  “He must have lost his marbles – and I bet it involves Angela!”
"Angela – in the lake?"
Ffion had not heard that it was Angela’s body in the lake, and is told that Eileen and Jim went to identify the body.
"She had plenty of enemies!"
“There are rumours that she was murdered!” Diane adds, and Dai points out that she had a plenty of enemies.   With Britt still missing, he wonders if anyone in this village is safe.
"I'd better check on Dad first"
When Dai and Diane have walked away, Ffion invites Rhys over to her flat, but he wants to check on his father first;  “I don’t know if he’s heard the news – I’ll see you later.”
They peer in the chippy's window
Dai peers in through the window of the chip shop, and they find the door open, although the sign says ‘closed’.
There is a hooded figure . . .
They go inside and see a hooded figure;  when it turns,
. . . none other than the fugitive Britt
they are surprised to see that it is Britt.
"No, I don't want any help!"
Rhys gets back home just as his father struggles downstairs, and refuses any help from his son.   “Have you heard the news?” Rhys ask,
"The painkillers have knocked me out"
and Hywel grumpily replies that he has been fast asleep, knocked out by the painkillers.
"There's something I have to tell you"
“There’s something I have to tell you,” Rhys continues, and his father expects it to be something about Ffion.
"Come on, I'm all ears"
“Come on, I’m all ears!” says Hywel.
"Angela is dead!"
Rhys realises that there is no easy way to say this, but reveals that Angela is dead.
"What?"
This comes as a shock to his father.
“She was the body in the lake,” Rhys tells him, and he is astounded.
Britt is no more communicative up in the chippy flat
Britt has been taken up to the chip shop flat, and Diane places a blanket around her shoulders;  she is staring vacantly into space when Colin rushes up the stairs, shouting her name.
"Where have you been, Britt?"
“Thank goodness you’re safe!   Are you all right, love?   Where have you been?” he asks, but she remains silent.   Dai informs them that she was downstairs in the chip shop, just standing there, and has not said a word.   “We’ve been worried sick about you,” Colin goes on,
"Did you phone yesterday?"
“Did you phone yesterday?” but Britt gives no sign of having heard him.
Diane thinks it a good idea that they should leave, and assures them that if there is anything she can do, they should ask.
"We're so glad that you're home safe"
“Britt, we’re so glad that you’re home safe,” Diane says as she leaves.
"Where have you been?"
Dani whispers that they have all been worried about her, and asks where she has been;  at last she speaks,
"Out!"
but only to say, “Out.”
Siôn is being plagued by the press
Siôn is on the phone, telling the caller, “We have no comment to make on the matter.”
Kelly comes downstairs
Kelly comes downstairs, having been unable to sleep,
"The press want your side of the story"
and Siôn advises, “The press want your side of the story.”
"There is no other side!"
Anita points out that there is no other side to the story – Ed did something terrible, and that is the end of it.
"Ed must have been under a lot of strain"
“He must have been under a lot of strain to do that,” remarks Siôn, and Anita is angry, accusing him of taking Ed’s side.   He explains that he is trying to understand, as Ed was a friend and was not all bad.
"Perhaps I should talk to the press, to explain"
Kelly has been listening to this and concludes, “Perhaps I should talk to the press – to explain that he wasn’t thinking straight.”
"You don't want to do that, love"
Anita urges her not to do that, and Siôn suggests that they could watch a film,
Kelly does not fancy watching a film
but Kelly does not want.
Eileen receives more information from the police
At Penrhewl, Eileen has had a phone call,
"They wanted to inform the family . . ."
and announces to Sioned, who is looking after Huwi-John, “That was the police – they wanted to inform us as a family before it’s made public –
". . . that Ed killed Angela!"
“that Ed killed Angela!   The forensic tests have proved it – and he admitted it to Kelly before trying to kill her, too.”
Sioned is taken aback by this, and worries about Kelly, but is told that she is home.
"Why would he kill Angela?"
“Why would he kill Angela?” she demands,
"Their relationship was always very troubled"
and her mother says that their relationship was always very troubled.
"Angela said that Ed tried to kill me at the hospital"
“Angela said that Ed tried to kill me at the hospital, didn’t she?” Sioned recalls, but Eileen replies that she admitted everything in the letter;  “Perhaps Ed forged that letter – Angela may have been telling the truth!” Sioned suggests.
"Will you look after Huwi for me?"
Eileen wants her to look after Huwi, as she is in a hurry to go out,
Sioned is in an agitated state
and Sioned is left in a state of agitation.
"I don't want your sympathy!'
Rhys says that he is sorry about Angela, as his father was seeing her for a while;  “I don’t want your sympathy,” Hywel snarls.
A call from Ffion . . .
Then Rhys receives an incoming call from Ffion,
. . . which Rhys dismisses as an unknown number
but pretends it is a number he does not recognise, and rejects it.
"I'm not stupid – it's obviously Ffion!"
“It calls you often enough – don’t think I’m stupid, Rhys – it’s obvious it’s Ffion.   Don’t lie!
"I saw you kissing in the back lane"
“I saw you kissing in the back lane – and texting each other before then, like little children.   I wanted to give you a chance to tell me, but you didn’t, did you?   I asked you plenty of times whether something was going on, and I gave you the chance to explain.
"But no, you denied it!"
“But no, you denied it!”
"I didn't do it deliberately!"
Rhys maintains that he did want to tell his father, but could not;  “Look, I didn’t do it deliberately – we both tried to stop, but we can’t help the way we feel about each other!”
"How long has it been going on?"
Now his father wants to know how long it has been going on, and it is told that it has been a couple of months, perhaps three.
"You were together on that holiday?"
“That holiday in Gower – you were together then?” Hywel growls,
An excruciating twinge in his knee
and then is seized by a sudden pain in his knee, as he has run out of tablets, and refuses Rhys’ offer to get some more.
"I don't want anything from you!"
“I don’t want anything from you – I’ll go myself!”
Siôn and Anita are sitting at the table with a cup of tea
Kelly is lying on the sofa
while Kelly is lying on the sofa;  there is a knock at the door.
Siôn hugs Eileen
Eileen comes in and Siôn gives her a hug.
"I'm so sorry to hear about Angela"
Anita says that she is so sorry to hear about Angela.
Eileen is sorry for disturbing them and is glad that Kelly is safe,
"Do you know why she was killed?"
but asks, “Do you know why she was killed?”   Anita does not think that Kelly is ready to answer questions yet, but Eileen is a very anxious to understand why.
"She was blackmailing Ed"
Kelly informs her, “She was blackmailing Ed – he had tried to kill her – and she came back, demanding money,
"She pushed him to the limit!"
“more and more each time, pushing him to the limit.”
"Are you saying it was Angela's fault?"
Eileen thinks she is saying that it was Angela’s fault, but Kelly does not know that.
"I think that's enough, Eileen"
Anita calls a halt to this conversation and Eileen leaves the house.
Dani has made some soup . . .
Dani has made a bowl of soup for Britt,
. . . which Colin feeds to Britt
and Colin feeds it to her by the spoonful;
"Britt, we should tell the hospital"
“Britt, we should tell the hospital,” suggests Dani, but Britt jumps up and runs into the other room,
"No way I'm going back there!"
shouting that no way is she going back there.   Dani emphasises, “You need help!”
Colin assures her that they will not force her to do anything against her will, but they are just worried about her.
"You're better off without me!"
“I can’t carry on,” Britt begins, “You’re better off without me.”   Colin tells her never to say that, because it is not true - he loves her, and so do the children, Garry and Dani.
"Shall we get someone from the hospital to have a chat?"
“If you want to stay here, it’s all right – we’ll help you get better,” he says, and Dani proposes getting someone from the hospital to come to have a chat with her,
"We can't do this on our own"
pointing out to Colin that the two of them cannot do this on their own.
"We'll see what's best for you"
“Look, we’ll get someone to come over to see how you are – to see what’s best for you,” he says, and Dani makes the phone call.
Hywel has collected his painkillers
Hywel hobbles back from the surgery with his tablets, and meets Eileen;  he commiserates with her about Angela.
"We're all in a state of shock"
She agrees that they are all in a state of shock, and he points out she meant a lot to him at one stage.
"I can't imagine who would do this to her"
He cannot imagine who would do that to her, but Eileen is eager to walk away.
He goes into his house
He lets himself in through his front door, and finds Rhys, sitting silently on the sofa;
"Are you still here?"
“Are you still here?” Hywel snarls, and Rhys tells him this is the last thing he wanted.
"Should have thought of that before jumping into bed with Ffion!"
“You should have thought about that before jumping into bed with Ffion,” Hywel advises, “You may have tried to stop, but you didn’t.   I told you about the kiss we had, and you didn’t say anything – you’ve made a fool of me!”
"Ffion didn't feel the same way as you"
Rhys points out, “Ffion didn’t feel the same way as you – that’s not my fault.”   Hywel can see that it suited him to encourage his father to stop pursuing Ffion.
"You had your chance – and made a mess of it!"
“You had your chance with Ffion years ago, and made a mess of it!” Rhys stresses.
"Get out, Rhys – I don't want you here!"
“Get out, Rhys, I don’t want you here!” Hywel shouts.
Dani updates Garry in Portugal
Dani is informing Garry that he does not need to come home, as they are managing, and she will phone him later.
"Why would she want to sleep rough?"
We see that several professionals, and a police officer, have come to the flat;  Colin cannot understand why Britt would want to sleep rough,
"She needs to go back to the hospital"
but he is advised that she needs to go back to the hospital.
“She’s only just come home – I don’t want to lose her again!’ Colin protests, but Dani insists that she has to go, to find out why this has happened.   “OK – on the condition that I go with her,” he says.
"You'll get help there"
He tries to explain to Britt that they want her to go back to hospital, so that she can get help;
"Don't worry, I'm coming with you"
“Don’t worry, because I’m coming with you, and I’ll be with you every day.”
"You told me I could stay here"
She says that he told her she could stay there, but he argues that they do not have any choice, and it is for the best.
"Ricky has agreed to run the café"
Kelly has fallen asleep, and Anita puts a blanket over her;  she urges Siôn to be quiet.   He says that Ricky is going to open the café tomorrow, and will look after the business for Kelly.
Kelly begins to stir, and mutters, “Ed, hold my hand, please,”
"I should have helped him!"
then sits up with a start, and tells Anita, “I should have done more – I should have helped him!”
Kelly is distraught
She weeps piteously.
"Why didn't you say where you were going?'
Sioned asks her mother, “Why didn’t you say you were going to see her?”
"I had to know the facts"
and Eileen replies that she had to know the facts.
"Perhaps Angela had no choice"
“Despite what Ed did, it is obvious that Angela pushed him to the limit,” Eileen says, but Sioned points out that perhaps Angela had no choice.   “There’s always another choice, Sioned,” her mother says, “She should have said if he tried to kill her.”
"Would we have believed her?"
Sioned wonders if they would have believed her if she had said something;  perhaps she had no other choice.
"Angela never knew when to stop!"
Eileen goes on, “Kelly said that she was demanding more and more money – that was Angela’s problem – she never knew when to stop.”
Sioned is adamant that Angela cannot be blamed for what has happened;
"What if she did try to save me?"
“What if she did try to save me at the hospital, Mam?”   Eileen is clear that they will never know the answer to that – she is gone, and that is it;
Eileen starts organising the funeral
she will phone Megan to see if the funeral can be held at Bethania.
Hywel has two black sacks
Dai comes out of APD as Hywel is passing, carrying two black sacks;
"Hey, Long John Silver – where's your parrot?"
“Hey, Long John Silver – where’s your parrot?” he shouts, and Diane says he should be resting his leg.
"I've got things to do!"
“I’ve got things to do!” Hywel exclaims,
"Who stole his porridge this morning?"
and Dai wonders who stole his porridge this morning.
He heads towards Cysgod y Glyn . . .
He heads across to Cysgod y Glyn,
. . . watched by Rhys
and Rhys, who is on a run, sees him.
Hywel is admitted
Hywel is let in through the door, and makes his painful way upstairs, followed by Rhys.
"Your boyfriend's clothes!"
He throws down the two bags in front of Ffion, growling, “Your boyfriend’s clothes!   I hope you’ll be very happy together!
"He didn't have the guts to say anything!"
“He didn’t have the guts to say anything!”  Rhys alleges that he was on his way to tell Ffion that his father knew,
"Look – arguing already!"
and Hywel sneers, “Look, you’re arguing already!”
"I wanted to tell you, Hywel"
Ffion protests that she wanted to tell him, but he rages,
"You deserve each other!"
“Stop the excuses, Ffion – you had plenty of opportunities – you deserve each other!”
