"Welsh cakes – they're Britt's favourite"
Kath has brought round a box of Welsh cakes to Colin for Britt;  “They’re her favourites – I’ll take them when I go,” he says, and she asks how Britt is.
"She's not great"
“Not great – I didn’t want to leave her, to be honest,” is the reply, and Kath points out that the important thing is that Britt is back safe.
"Why don't I open up the shop for you?"
He thanks her for taking part in the search, and she offers to open up the shop for him this morning, so he can have a rest,
"I'd prefer to keep busy"
but he would prefer to keep busy.
"You'll be late for school, Aaron"
Aaron has just got up, and is still in his dressing gown;  “You’ll be late for school,” Colin tells him, but he says that he is not going.   He wants to see his mother.
"It's not a good idea for her to have too many visitors"
Kath leaves them, and Colin suggests that it is not a good idea for his mother to have too many visitors;  “We don’t want her getting overtired, do we?
"I don't care about exams!"
“Anyway, you’ve got exams next week.”   Aaron does not care about the exams,
"You can go when she's better"
but is told that he can go with Colin soon, when she is better.
Rhys tries to contact his father
At Cysgod y Glyn, while Arwen is playing with the iPad, Rhys is trying to contact his father;
"I want to take him to the hospital today"
“I’ve tried phoning and texting – I want to take him to the hospital today.”   Ffion encourages him to go and see his father, as he might be more reasonable today.
"Me!"
Then Rhys asks Arwen, “Who wants pancakes for breakfast?” and of course she says she does, but she is overruled by her mother, who says they do not have enough time, and reprimands her for playing on the iPad before school.
"There's not enough milk"
“There’s not enough milk here anyway,” says Rhys,
"Pancakes, after . . . burger and chips, yeah?"
“But we’ll have pancakes tonight, after . . . burger and chips, yeah?”
"Yeah, great!"
Arwen is all in favour of that idea, and Rhys says that it is the least he can do;
"I wont be able to get in without a key"
will buy the ingredients this morning, but he adds that he will not be able to get in without a key.
Ffion is not sure about that
Ffion is reluctant to give him one, but he stresses, “It will save you opening the door to me every time,” and she finally consents, as Rhys checks with Arwen, “Burger and chips, then pancakes, is it?”
Ffion and Arwen are off to school . . .
She leaves for school with her mother,
. . . while Rhys adopts his usual smug and self-satisfied look
and Rhys looks typically pleased with himself.
"Can you put them in the kitchen?"
In the café, Ricky asks a deliveryman to put the boxes in the kitchen;
"Running the show now, are you?"
Mathew comments, “You’re running the show now, are you?”   Ricky points out that it is only until Kelly comes back, but he does not know when that will be.
"I can't believe what Ed did!"
“I can’t believe what Ed did!” says Mathew, “He was here, serving me, less than a week ago.”
"He let me go to jail instead of him!"
Mark interrupts, “I’ve never trusted him – he let me go to jail instead of him!”
"You can't trust anyone!"
Hywel, who has been sitting, looking out of the window for some time, bitterly maintains, “You can’t trust anyone – and the ones closest to you are the worst!”   He picks up his crutch, and staggers out of the café.
"He's been sitting there, thinking about Angela"
Ricky remarks that Hywel has simply been looking out of the window, thinking about Angela, just as Debbie walks in,
"Shame it spoilt the wedding for you"
and Mathew says that it is a shame that it spoilt the wedding for them.
"The Registry Office have a cancellation on Saturday"
Mark tells Debbie that he has been checking with the Registry Office, and they have a cancellation on Saturday;
Debbie appears to have lost all enthusiasm . . .
she is not sure about this, and does not want to discuss it now.
. . . and does not want to talk about it
She gets up and walks out of the café, much to Mark’s surprise;  she crosses the road,
Hywel wallows in self-pity
passing Hywel, who is sitting morosely on the bench by the salon.
"I'm making pancakes tonight"
In the shop, Rhys has been purchasing the things for dinner, and tells Colin that he is making pancakes tonight.
"It's natural that you're upset"
Hywel comes in, and Rhys tells him he is still free to take him to the hospital this afternoon;  “It’s natural that you’re upset – you’re going through a lot, with what has happened to Angela as well, but don’t take out your grief on Ffion and me!”
"This is because you betrayed me!"
Hywel snarls, “This is because you betrayed me – it’s nothing to do with Angela.”   He pays Colin for the newspaper,
"I'd rather drag myself to hospital!"
and on the way out, informs Rhys, “I’d rather drag myself to the hospital than depend on you!”
"Shall I take chocolates or flowers – or both?"
Colin tells Kath that he cannot decide what to take to Britt this afternoon, whether chocolates or flowers,
"I doubt they allow flowers"
but Kath doubts whether he is allowed to take flowers, so he suggests a couple of magazines.
He clumsily knocks down some boxes
As he reaches for a box of chocolates, he knocks several other things off the shelf, and she can see that he is not coping.
"They're keeping an eye on her – suicide watch!"
He tells her, “They’ve sectioned Britt – they’re keeping an eye on her around the clock – suicide watch!”
"She's in the best place there"
Kath tries to tell him that everything will be all right, as Britt is in the best place.
"You go and get something to eat"
She suggests that he should have something to eat before he visits, and she will find something that he can take this afternoon.
"Are you all right, Debs?"
Mark returns home and asks Debbie if she is all right;
"Of course I'm not!"
“Of course I’m not all right – Angela and I were best friends at one time,” she snaps, “I can’t stop thinking about her in that lake.   And what was I doing while she was lying in the water?   Having a party – it was all a mistake!”
"Don't say that, Debs"
Mark does not like her saying this, but she goes on, “I just wanted it to be a special day – but all that people are talking about is Angela’s body in the lake –
She seems concerned that she is not in the limelight
“nobody is talking about the wedding, or how nice my dress was.”
"You looked like a princess in that dress!"
Mark can understand that she is upset, but stresses that she looked like a princess in that dress;
"You can wear it again when we finish the job"
And you can wear it again when we finish the job officially.”
"Something will go wrong again!"
She is afraid that something will go wrong again, and picks up the wedding dress;  “It only reminds me of Angela – I’m taking it to the Maenan Appeal.”
"You'll need it for the Registry Office"
He protests that she will need the dress for the registry office,
"I don't want it in the house!"
but she is adamant she does not want it in the house.
"I've never seen Dad so angry!"
Rhys returns to Ffion’s flat looking downcast;  “He’s refusing to let me take him to the hospital now,” he moans, “I’ve never seen him so angry.
"Now we don't have to lie to him any more"
“I don’t like it that he’s upset, but I’m glad he knows – we don’t have to lie to him any more.   Things will only get easier now the truth is out – he’ll have to accept that we are together, and this isn’t just a fling.
"I'm so happy with you!"
“I’m so happy with you!”
Ffion attempts to put on a brave face
Ffion, on the other hand, appears to have reservations.
Colin feels apprehensive
Colin walks into the hospital and is feeling apprehensive;
"She slept very comfortably las night"
he speaks to a doctor, who says that a nurse has gone to fetch Britt, and that she slept very comfortably last night.
“I’ve brought her a couple of treats,” Colin remarks,
"We can't allow anything she could use to harm herself"
but is informed that the necklace is not permitted, as they cannot allow anything she could use to harm herself.
"Do you know what caused all this?"
“Do you know what caused all this?” he wonders,
"It's too early to make a diagnosis"
and the doctor replies that it is too early to make any definite diagnosis;  it could be a number of things.
"Why would she want to harm herself?"
He asks, “Why would she want to harm herself?   That’s what I can’t understand.   The doctor is sorry that she does not have the answers at the moment, and that is why Britt is there –
"We want to find out and help her recover"
so they can find out and help her recover.
The door opens, and a nurse escorts Britt into the room;
Britt does not look particularly happy to see Colin
she looks expressionless as Colin hugs her.
The taxi Hywel has booked sounds its horn outside . . .
Hywel, looking grim, sits on the sofa, as a taxi horn sounds outside;
. . . and he is contacted by phone . . .
then he receives a text from Deri Deithio, but ignores it,
. . . but simply turns on the television
and instead turns on the television.
Britt seems not to be listening to Colin
Colin tells Britt, “Chester sends his regards, and so does Garry – he is going to stay in Portugal for a while longer to make sure Chester’s all right.   Catrin is doing great in college – you should be proud of her.   Aaron’s fine – as usual – he wants to come and see you, of course.”
"This is not a nice place for a boy to come!"
Britt, who up until this time has said nothing, growls, “This is not a nice place for a boy to come!” but Colin says that it looks like a five-star hotel,
"How are you – in yourself?"
and asks how she is in herself.
"I want to sleep all the time"
“I’m tired – I want to sleep all the time.”
Then he enquires, “Are you still having those thoughts?   That you want to hurt yourself?”   She replies that she does have them, sometimes,
"We all love you – you mustn't forget that!"
and he assures her that they all love her – she must not forget that – and everyone in the village is behind her.   They are asking about her all the time,
"Kath has cooked some Welsh cakes for you"
and Kath has cooked the Welsh cakes for her;  “And they taste nice, too!”
"Sorry, visiting time is over"
Then Colin is told that visiting time is over, and says that he has to go and make dinner for Aaron;  he will be back this evening.
"You don't have to, Col"
“You don’t have to, Col,” Britt tells him, but he insists that he wants to, and is not going to miss any visiting times until she comes home safely to him.
"Do you want me to bring you anything?"
“Do you want me to bring you anything?” he asks.
"Just yourself"
“Just yourself,” she replies,
Colin is no less worried about her
and he goes, still looking concerned.
The Western Post headline
In the café, Mathew is looking at the headline in the Western Post, and remarks, “I bet you there won’t be any more weddings at the Glyndwr – everyone will cancel!”
Mark lunges forward to grab the paper
Mark snatches the paper from him, and Kath wonders what is the matter with him.
"Debbie doesn't want to go ahead with registering the wedding"
“Debbie doesn’t want to go ahead with registering the wedding,” he grumbles, “She’s really upset about Angela.”
"She spent weeks organising that party!"
Ricky comments that she spent weeks organising that party.
"Now she thinks it was all a mistake"
“Now she thinks it was all a mistake,” Mark continues, “And it matters to me!”
Rhys tries to ingratiate himself with Ffion
When Ffion and Arwen return from school, Rhys has some flowers;  “I don’t want anyone to say I’m taking advantage,” he smirks.
"Go to get changed and wash your hands"
Ffion sends Arwen to get changed and wash her hands.
Ffion wants to keep it a secret
“Nobody knows you’re staying here, and I don’t want anyone to know,” she insists;
"Are you ashamed of me?"
he thinks that she is ashamed of him, but she does not want people gossiping about them and making a huge scandal of it.
"We must keep it quiet – for Arwen's sake"
He predicts that it will not be easy to keep it quiet, but she is adamant that they have to try;  “If only for Arwen’s sake – everything’s happened so quickly.”
Rhys points out, “It’s not my fault that Dad’s kicked me out.”   Ffion advises that his relationship with his father is more important then theirs;
"I don't want to come between you and your Dad"

“What are you trying to say?” he demands, and she replies that she does not want to come between him and his father – she could not stand that.
“He’ll come to accept the situation – he has to!” is Rhys’ reply, “Look, I’ll go over to the hospital after dinner, and see how he is after the operation.”
"Look – a wedding present"
Ricky and Kath come home to Maes-y-Deri and find a wedding present on the table, but Debbie says they will have to give it back;
"We're not married, are we?"
“We’re not married, are we?   It’s not right.”
Ricky produces some photos, remarking, “You look married to me!”
"The best day of my life!"
As Mark looks through the photos, he tells Debbie that it was special – the best day of his life.   Ricky adds, “I wanted to give you this as well – we all pitched in.”
Two nights at a honeymoon suite
Mark looks at the gift voucher for a two-night stay at the honeymoon suite of the Orchard Vine Lodge and Spa, but Debbie still insists that it does not feel right.
"Angela would want you to carry on, wouldn't she?"
Kath speaks up, “Come on, Debbie – Angela would want you to carry on, wouldn’t she?”
"It doesn't matter when – there's no pressure"
Mark points out, “Look, I’d like us to be Mr and Mrs Jones officially some time – but it doesn’t matter when – there’s no pressure.   So what do you say?”
"A quite wedding – just us four, and no-one else"
She finally agrees, with one condition;  “If we do it again, I want a quiet wedding – just us four, and no-one else.   No fuss – I don’t want any surprises this time.”
"Better open the present, then"
Kath fetches the wedding present from the table, and is surprised to see that it contains a secondhand toaster;  “Who would give you an old toaster like that?” she demands.
"We're sure you have missed this.   From Iolo and Tyler"
The accompanying note reads, “We’re sure that you have missed this.   From Iolo and Tyler.”
Hywel is back at Cysgod y Glyn
Hywel is at the door of Cysgod y Glyn again, this time wanting to talk to Rhys, who was under the impression he was in hospital overnight.
"I didn't feel strong enough to go to hospital"
“I didn’t feel strong enough to go,” Hywel informs them.
"Wanted to make us feel bad, did you?"
“Wanted to make us feel bad, did you?” says Rhys, and Ffion insists that he is only punishing himself.   Hywel demands that Rhys returns his house key, as he does not need it now.
"This is what you wanted, isn't it?"
They protest that they know he has been hurt, but he snarls, “Thanks for your sympathy, but this is what you wanted, isn’t it?
Hywel demands the return of the front door key . . .
“Just give it back, please.”   Rhys complies with the request, and,
. .  . and when he gets it, off he goes
without a further word, Hywel leaves the flat.
Aaron is cooking dinner
Aaron is preparing dinner when Colin comes home, bringing some shopping.   “I was starving,” he says,
"Oh, she was fine"
and asks, “How was Mam?”   Colin answers that she was fine.
"If she was fine, she wouldn't be in hospital!"
“If she was fine, she wouldn’t be in hospital,” Aaron exclaims, “When can I go and see her?”   Colin thinks they should give her a bit more time.
"She doesn't want to see me, does she?"
“She doesn’t want to see me, does she?” Aaron says, but Colin replies that  is not true.
"Seeing her in hospital would upset you"
“I’m worried that seeing her in hospital would upset you – you’ve been through so much already.”
Now the food is burnt
Then they find, to their dismay, that the food, which has been bubbling away on the hob, is burnt, and Colin takes it to the sink.
"She's not going to get better, is she?"
“She’s not going to get better, is she?” groans Aaron, and Colin tries to convince him that of course she is;  she will get through this – they all will.
"I miss her, Col!"
“I miss her, Col!” he sighs.
Britt sits in her room
In the hospital, Britt is sitting on her bed
"Look, I'm still here!"
when a nurse comes in with her medication;  “Look, I’m still here!” Britt comments.
. . . and then left alone again
After taking her tablets, she is left alone once more.
